Thanks everyone, for all the votes for your favorite doll dresses this past year. From your comments and a few by email, it was so much fun seeing who picked which doll dress as a favorite. 27 people voted. I haven’t narrowed it down for me yet… but I think I will soon.
It was kind of like something Santa had to keep track of… making a list, checking it twice, and then three times and then four, just to be 100% sure of the results. I had columns and charts and hash marks and doll names and doll dress names… but I got through it and now have the results.
As of midnight, the doll dress that came in third place, was modeled by a Ruby Red Fashion Friend, doll, Rose. The dress set was called “Chartreuse Fantasy.” It received a total of seven votes. I have to admit, when I made those colorful Mary Jane shoes, I had to slap myself to keep from getting a big head. I “thought I had arrived” and couldn’t make anything any cuter. (but…..I’m still learning about shoe making!!) Here it is again to refresh your memory…
In second place, the favorite choice was American Girl, Felicity in “Springtime Promise!” I bought that fabric at a little Antique shop on the way to Deb’s house, last year when I went with my sister, Cindy and her hubby, Tom. It was in a little baggie and as soon as I saw it, I thought of Felicity. It just spoke to me, and I guess it did to a lot of you… Ten ladies picked it as their number one pick. It ended up with a total of twelve votes. Here it is for you to enjoy again…
Well, it was very close between first and second place… actually only separated by two votes…
The outfit that was voted for the most was Ten Ping, in “Littlest Scholar!” It received fourteen votes, and five of those were for first place. I truly enjoyed making this little set…and you know me… making the book bag and those school supplies was like a “craft” day in school! I do enjoy crafting!!! :o) I think you already know that. When I managed to make those tiny loafers for her, I was just thrilled at how they looked on her tiny feet. She is very special to me.
There were only 2 dresses that didn’t receive any votes…
Stella in “Welcome Fall” and Sarah in “Blue Ribbon.”
There were a few “Honorable Mentions!”
With 6 votes, Noel, in “Winter’s Song” came in 4th place.
With 5 votes Felicity, in “Colonial Stroll” came in 5th place.
8 people picked 2 of the 3 favorites…
AND ONE PERSON picked the 3 winners for her choices! That was Debbie in North Carolina! She just might be getting a little prize from me!
Thanks Debbie, and thank you, ALL, for participating in the vote to see who modeled the Favorite Dress of 2023! Little Ten Ping… who would have guessed it?
I will see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Not a surprise at all, that Ten Ping in Littlest Scholar got first place! The others were lovely, too, but I confess I hadn’t even noticed the shoes on the chartreuse outfit because I just am not a fan of that color! Silly, I know….but there it is. The shoes were really quite wonderful, though, now that I look at them more closely. Felicity’s outfit is lovely, too.
Really, the outfits are all winners, and we are the winners, too, because we got to enjoy the lovely pictures and all of Jeanne’s efforts! (And a few of us may have won some of the outfits when they were auctioned.)
Jeanne, all the outfits were just lovely, not a bad apple in the bunch! I too, loved the “big” winner although I didn’t pick it, but did get two of the three that won. I really don’t know how anyone could just pick three out of all of them!
And yes, Debbie should win a little something for picking out every one! Congrats to her!
That was fun. Maybe next year some more categories can be added? Like Best Dress, not accessories. And Best Accessories or best shoes or bags. And Best Overall Presentation.
Because it was very hard for me to decide. Number 11, Victorian Spring shown on an American Girl with the fabulous rick rack is one that I would love to see made to fit one of the Ruby Red girls. There are also several others like the Ten Ping winner that would be cute in a larger size as well.
A big congrats to winner Ten Ping and the runner ups as well. Sounds like a Miss America contest. 🙂
Lots of rain expected here later today. Hope we don’t float away.
Hooray! I cant believe I picked all three winning outfits. I agree with Charlotte, they are all winners. I really enjoy following along as each outfit takes form. You are an artist.
Dear Debbie, congratulations! If you buy a lottery ticket today, let us know. This is your day (smile)!
Thank you Dorothy! Then I would be able to buy all the Jeanne Marie Originals! 🥰
What a creative year it was! I didn’t vote because I could not pick just three favorites!! I feel I have to stick up for “Welcome Fall”, I liked everything about “Welcome Fall” but the color contrast of the stockings to the shoes kept pulling my eye away from that sweet dress and the rest of the outfit. I loved the shoes, and I liked the stockings but not together. Those hats are so fun, I hope you include more of them. Maybe another denim jacket and matching hat?
Kudos for a great year.
Dear Jeanne, what fun! I am betting that Ten Ping is jumping up and down with glee as she modeled the winning outfit. I am sure you are going to give her a special cookie (laugh).
All of the outfits were lovely. There was just something special about The Littlest Scholar ensemble. Maybe it was that we could imagine ourselves wearing it when we went to school. I had a skirt like that when I was in college.
I am looking forward to viewing the JW Collection of 2024! Hmm, maybe there will be a “Maypole Dance” ensemble. Sorry, I had to squeeze in a May reference (laugh).
Now I know why I don’t buy a lottery ticket. I only picked one of the winners and not surprisingly it wasn’t the one that won. I picked Chartreuse Fantasy because I loved the color, the shoes and the jacket. The other two were the outfits where I won the auction, which is rare for me. Both were surprises to me but nothing ventured, nothing gained and my girls have enjoyed the outfits immensely. Really looking forward to what lies ahead for Jean Marie Originals in 2024.
Well, I only picked one of the winners, but I think that is usually the case. Maybe I did pick two sometime(s) but never all three.
Congratulations Debbie, you certainly deserve a prize. I agree with Dorothy, we need a Maypole ensemble, but first are Easter dresses as Easter is very early this year.
