Hi everyone,
I managed to get Noel’s Christmas set, “Winters Song,” listed on Ebay this afternoon. I am looking at the calendar and noticing there is NO time for lollygagging! Anybody here ever lollygag? I looked up the word to make sure it wasn’t just something my momma used to say to us…
It’s an actual word in the dictionary…
lollygag… verb…
* to spend time aimlessly; idle.
“he sends her to Arizona every January to lollygag in the sun”
* dawdle
“we’re lollygagging along!”
I have NO time for lollygagging! There are dresses to be made and dolls shoes to be made and presents to wrap and parties to go to…rooms to be cleaned, things to be sold, food to be prepared, people to visit, but for now, I’m doing what I can when I can! I will try and think of simple things for the dolls; not so elaborate maybe, and possibly I can get more done.
That’s why I went ahead and listed Noel’s dress set. You’ll see her new bonnet in the listing… (which by the way, got a bid 19 minutes after I listed it!!!) :o)
I made her bonnet yesterday and then coated it with a few coats of stiffener on the inside front part, so the brim stays upright and isn’t limp. Once the stiffener dries it’s pretty neat how the piece stays in shape. I added some red trim with a few gold seed beads. When I decided on the ribbon, I attached it on one side and looped it under her chin, marked the spot on the other side, and added a snap and a pre-tied bow, for EASY PEASY on and off.
I took a few more pictures and Violà, it was ready to list!
If you want to check it out, you can click the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE to be taken to Ebay.
Here are a few new pictures…
I will see you all tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, I love her new bonnet! I used wear hats very similar to that when i was growing up. One was knitted, and we called them “ear warmers”–a band of warm knit fabric, tapered at the ends, worn across the head and over the ears, and tied under the chin. Everything is very lovely, Jeanne.
Congrats on your first bid!! Have you ever gotten a first bid that quickly?!
Hopefully I can post tonight; if not , I will be emailing this directly to Jeanne again!!
Yay, it worked–the second time I tried. Once I had posted the first reply, though, my ID disappeared from the reply box, and I had to go back to the email and click on the headline, and bring it up again. THEN it worked because it came up with my ID. So, Jeanne, you might let your techie person know about that. It may be happening to others.
We used to call those caps “cuddle caps”. And they usually had matching mittens.
I too, love the little hat, Jeanne! It reminded me of the one I had that was a part of a coat, hat and leggings set that little girls used to wear way back when! Everythng looks so Christmasy and she could be out caroling in that set if I do say so myself! Just a perfect little Victorian caroler!
I’m ot sure of what Charlotte is talking aobout, because I have no problems whatsoever in commenting. And it better stay that way!!
Absolutely love the bonnet? The red lace and gold beads look so rich.
Such a sweet outfit and very Christmacy! The bonnet is the perfect addition. Someone’s dollie will be very happy to get this outfit.
She looks so sweet!
Dear Jeanne, Noel looks adorable. I think that she is off on her sleigh for a wonderful Christmas party.
A read on the Antique Lilac site that November 26 was International Shoemakers Day. So, Dear Jeanne, we celebrate you as “shoemaker to the dolls!”
Love Noel’s little hat. Perfect for her and goes so well with the cape. I really like how she can wear the hat over her pretty hair as well. I was hoping for something like this because I really love her hair.
I ended up ordering a couple of 20’s theme RRFF dolls on Saturday. They won’t arrive until almost spring, but the preview is fantastic. The new boy doll is a little larger, a new model, so excited to see him. He wears a cute suit and the girls are in fabulous 20’s dresses. Fun. They are available for preorder for a couple of weeks.
Only 28 here this morning. Way too cold for us. Yikes!
Take a look at studiodollpro.com if you haven’t already. They have some cute clothes for both Little Darlings and L’il Dreamers.
I just ordered some shoes, white jeans, and a tee from there so Jovi will have something else to wear when she arrives. 🙂
Thank you!!
You’re most welcome. Since Nina and Jovi don’t come with wardrobes, and I already had all the clothes for the other three, it was good to see there were clothes I could buy for them since I don’t seem to be getting much sewing done at the moment. Nina comes with only a ballet costume and she really needs something else. Her ballet shoes are amazing. They look exactly like real toe shoes without the hard toe.
LOVE it!! I personally agree with your daughter l really like the cape and hat!!
What a sweet little cap to go with a wonderful outfit. And a bid so quickly. I’m sure there will be a bidding war at the end.
Yep, lollygagging is most definitely a word. My grandparents used it! The bonnet is perfect just what the cape and dress needed.
I’m looking forward to the Christmas dresses. They are my favorites followed by the Easter ones.
I agree with everyone. That bonnet is wonderful.
I think the next step is to make 2 or 3 near duplicates in different sizes and colors.
Marilyn’s idea to duplicate this current set is brilliant. It would save you time thinking up a new design and the other sized Dolls and their owners will be happy! The bonnet is dynamite!
Have a productive week🤗
