Thank you, Charlotte, for that perfect title you mentioned a few days ago. I liked it the moment I read it and hoped my finishing this set would live up to its name. I’ll give you the link to the auction on Ebay, but first, I thought I’d show you the pictures that “didn’t” make the cut for my listing.
(Just a bit of trivia… I don’t care for Capris either… I don’t own a single pair!)
The fabric is actually named Sunflowers… as you can see in the information along the selvage.
Here is a picture of the headband closure I forgot to use…
I can’t believe I put her on the fountain, way up high and walked away to get this picture… and then didn’t even use it. I don’t know what my heart would have done if she had fallen…
She looked too hunched over in this one…
Well, how about that link to the listing…
If you’d like to take a peek at which pictures DID make the cut, you can click on the picture at the right side bar, or click HERE.
I hope you enjoy them…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh,I’m so glad my suggestion was just the right name for this outfit! It’s one of those things–just popped into my head, so I wrote it down to you before I forgot it!!
Everything is wonderful, your pictures are lovely (yes, that fountain one….but Freida was careful, and stayed put for you!), and it’s nice to see the different possibilities.
And…you already have your first bid! Yay!!
Now, about capris….when I was in high school (grad. 1964), capris were slim-fitting slacks that hit about the ankle and usually had a little split or notch in the side seam at the hem. Mary Tyler Moore wore them a lot when she was in The Dick Van Dyke Show back then. If you watch the reruns or search for pictures, you will see what I mean. (I remember mom making slacks for me, and I kept wanting the legs slimmer and slimmer!! She got them to the point where I could barely squeeze my feet thru them! of course, this was way before stretch fabrics!)
Pedal pushers–when I was growing up–hit a little below the knee. I wore those, and also clam-diggers, which, as I recall, hit at mid calf, and were looser-fitting. (I never cared to dig clams, however, as I don’t like them! 😂) These days, I don’t wear shorts very often but I do wear cropped pants/pedal pushers, depending on the length. I like that they look good with either sandals or sneakers/short socks, and I have several pairs.
Perfect name for this darling outfit, or should I say outfits! I envy the lucky person who gets this to dress their doll in, Jeanne!
You have a great set of pictures there, and yes, what were you thinking when you put Freida up on the fountain? Luckily, she has perfect balance!
Talking about capris, yes, what Charlotte mentioned, slim almost to the ankle with a slit, now THOSE were capris! Perfect for a tall person like me, who can never find slacks long enough! However, I wear what you would probably call pedal pushers, but not really baggy, loose ones. I do not wear shorts, not at my age, and wore Bermuda shorts Instead of shorter ones, but I don’t wear those now either! It’s too hot for jeans, but pedal pushers or something similar are what I wear in summer. So much cooler!
Love Freida’s crossed ankle pose by the tree. She’s a natural. With all of those great pieces, this one will be very popular.
I’m sure everyone will be glad to know that the concrete truck has not arrived here. Thanks Dorothy. 🙂 The crabgrass is still evident even after two recommended chemicals that I hate to use. The next round will be a test using something applied at a higher strength and verified by a neighbor with a lovely lawn. 🙂 And Laura, so sorry to hear about the devastation from the tree cutters. I have a feeling that the tiger lilies will survive. The ferns? Feeling for you. Weed eaters are the worst. And Barbara, hope your little Sara arrived. I think ours may have been together in the same warehouse awaiting delivery from Hong Kong. The one expected here by the 31st at the latest, did not arrive. But, she did have a long drive up from southern CA, then San Francisco, and then north. She is out for delivery today. So, hopefully, she is still in one piece from her long journey. Getting US mail past other person is pretty impossible, but we’ll see what happens. I do have an errand planned, so maybe other person will be away when she arrives. We’ll see.
Happy June, everyone. 🙂
Thanks, Joy. It was just so shocking since I even pointed out my ferns and the tiger lilies and asked them to be careful of them. I do have another small patch of ferns and some tiger lilies against the fence, but those were the big patches. 🙁
Good luck getting mini Sara in. Do let us know if you succeed. i hope so.
Dear Joy, I hope your subterfuge works this time (smile). Do share the story with us.
What a wonderful auction! All those pieces and such cute pictures. The one on the fountain is awesome😉
Hope the third time is a charm on the crabgrass Joy😲. Yes capris are great for summer and since I’ve worn compression hose forever they hide all the ugly top parts🤭
Enjoy June everyone!
Love the pictures, both the ones that made it and the ones that didn’t.
My tiny Sara (and I do mean tiny) arrived yesterday safe and sound. She was a few hours late and arrived just as her forever daddy got home from the dentist. The first thing he said when he walked in the house was, did our new dolly daughter just arrive. He watched as I unpacked her and was amazed at how tiny she was. I put her jeans outfit on her but she said it was too hot so I got one of Ginny’s dresses for her to wear until she gets her own. Her shoes are the cutest and so tiny.
The grandkids are now out of school for the summer and will be visiting every Thursday so we can work on projects together. For starters, we will be making a couple doll pools made with cpvc and whatever I choose for a liner. Unfortunately I don’t have all the parts for this week so keeping them occupied may be a little dicey today.
What a cute set of outfits this has become. I love the crossed ankle tree pose as well. Some little doll with be very happy with her new summer wardrobe.
Well, summer is here in full swing even though not technically.
Looking forward to seeing who gets to jump down from the dolly shelf.
Dear Jeanne, she is adorable in all of the photos. I would have been afraid also to walk away and leave her. I have had dolls fall in the house when I thought they were securely seated or standing.
