I decided to turn these white slip-on shoes into Mary Janes… using the same snap closure as I did for the blue ones… Here’s how they look now…
I haven’t tried it yet, but I don’t think I can get a pair of thigh highs on with the white shoes… they were made to fit her foot and they do fit so well, I don’t think there is room for stockings or socks.
Sara’s dress now has been hemmed and the snaps sewn down the back…
I added a tiny button to each sleeve cuff.
It doesn’t seem like much, but that was my day… Wednesday was Reuben’s birthday…he turned 8 years old… Thursday is my hubby’s birthday…he’s a bit older than that! :o)
Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, I do like those shoes, Jeanne–the white-on-white is very dressy. It looks like Sara is pleased, too!! And all the details of her dress are just lovely.
Ron is home now–so happy with more room in the garage (although, frankly, I doubt he is strong enough to go down there and actually Do something!) as well as the more comfy sofa that is now upstairs! When the boys were sorting thru stuff that Ron had “stored” on the sofa when it was in the garage, they also wound up all his extension cords, his trouble light, and his jumper cables, and hung them up,and also put away his socket sets. Ron was quite happy about that. And he is enjoying sitting on our “new” sofa–and napping!! which he’s been doing tonight.
Congrats on the successful auction of Chartreuse Fantasy, and to whoever made the winning bid! Someone will be happy!!
Happy birthday to both Reuben and George! Seems almost impossible that Reuben is 8 already! It doesn’t seem that long ago that he was a pup, and you had just gotten him!
Very pretty, Jeanne, those white on white flowers that echo the lace! I really like them and they could also work for other dresses the new owner might have. Like I mentioned the other day, and you always seem to work your magic! I think some sheer lacy thigh highs would be pretty with them too, if you could manage.
My goodness, Rueben is already “middle aged” now! Happy Birthday to him, and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to George! I hope you do something special for the two “boys” today! They bring so much joy to your life, especially the “big” one!❤️
Congratulations on the auction last night! That was a beautiful outfit. Happy Birthday to George and Rueben!
I might be the only one, I liked the blue shoes with this fabric. The white shoes draw my attention downward instead of on the dress, which is so pretty. White shoes always remind me of nurses shoes back in the day. I am not sure what they wear now…
The new white shoes are pretty. Although, I’m a fan of the blue if they had white lace trimmed socks. 🙂 Since the white are a perfect fit for Sara, I wonder if they would fit a Siblie with socks? Just curious. Hope Sara, isn’t too upset giving up her lovely dress. 🙂
Another sunny day ahead, but clouds coming back tomorrow I believe.
Joy
Jeanne,
You are so talented, the shoes are perfect and so beautiful for Sara.
Happy Birthday to George!
Enjoy the day.
Sara looks so pretty.
Happy Birthday to George and to Rueben. I can’t believe Rueben is eight already. I remember the day you brought him home after Rebecca found him online.
Congratulations for another wonderful auction, Jeanne. Happy birthday to your guys, and Christmas is coming. Whoopee! Our tree is still up and the lights on today. It’s our middle son’s 50th, it’s snowing and gray, so tree up and on is cheering. It will come down before Easter, haha.
About this set. I adore the dress. The shoes are mighty fine, but I think those straps and buckles are a bit “heavy” and don’t enhance the delicacy of the lace neckline. I would have eliminated the straps and just had the pretty flowers on the slip-ons. Undoubtedly, I am the only fish swimming upstream here. 😆
Three cheers for Ron and Charlotte.
Happy celebrations.
Happy Birthday to the guys! The white shoes turned out very nice, but like Debbie I liked the blue ones with this dress, just thought blue accents were what was needed. Lovin the progress.
Happy Birthday to George and Rueben!! My grandfather’s name is George, too 🙂 My Grandma Patricia was born on St. Patrick’s day.
