HI everyone,
Just a quickie note to let you know I managed to get Frieda’s dress set listed Ebay Saturday evening. I went outside in the 40 degree weather and took these pictures of Frieda… My hubby and Reuben were out at the same time… photobombing my pictures! :o)
It’s a 5 day listing and ends this coming Thursday and I named it “Vibrant in Violets!” You can click on the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE to see the listing.
Barbara sent me an email with her girls dressed up for Valentine’s Day… so how could I resist? Just think of them as red and pink dresses that are celebrating President’s Day! :o) Thank you Barbara… Every one of your girls are adorable!
Jeanne,
I’m sending these because everyone was dressed and I was trying to decide on a theme, which made me late. I decided on Valentine Concerts.
The first is of all my little girls in concert. Betsy is playing the piano because she fits it so well and she plays beautifully. Jacquie is playing her harp. She is amazing. Ginny (modern), Ginny (vintage), my two Paola Reina Mini Amigas, Jade (new version of the Heartstring Dolls), Eva (Heartstring), Shirley Temple and Eden Grace (Heartstring) are providing the lovely choral music for all the beautiful love songs in the repertoire.
The second picture is my older girls. Hanna on the piano. Doesn’t she sit at it nicely? (Barbara, she looks PERFECT there at the piano!) I love to hear her play. LD Greer Adele is singing several beautiful solos with MA Lissy, Sophie and LD Claire providing the choral backup.
The beautiful dress Greer Adele is wearing also has a lovely white sweater I got these from a wonderful shop in Russia that I can no longer access. It’s a shame because she had some really special things for great prices.
Barbara
They were wonderful and the girls look like they are having a great concert! I hope everyone loves it! :o)
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, I see your Vibrant in Violet outfit has two bids already! Woot woot!!
Barbara, so nice to see your girls are so proficient in music, I’m sorry I had to miss the concert! The all look darling, and so festive in their Valentine outfits! My favorite is Greer Adele’s beautiful dress, but I love Hanna’s striped dress, also. Is that one you made? It looks very up-to-date and modern, quite suiting Hanna, I think.
Now I need to get busy and take pictures of my newest dolls–two Loulous that just arrived the other day, and a Leeann that came a couple of weeks ago.
Hanna’s dress is actually from Happily.com. I was looking for some bigger dolls that had something that would work for Valentine’s Day and they were few. But now that it’s over I remembered two more so I’ll save them for next year when maybe I have more time to sew for some others. I’ve got tons of Valentine Fabric but it falls under the category of so much fabric so little time.
The girls wanted me to tell you that they missed you at their concert but would be glad to do one especially for you at your request. Also, I forgot to mention that the sweater for Greer Adele’s dress is that same yarn in white. I so wish I could still buy from that shop.
😊
Barbara, your girls are just adorable! i know firsthand how much it is to dress and display all those dolls, not mentioning how to come up with props for scenes! Your tiny dolls look so festive, and I love those apron dresses several of them have on, especially the one on the right in the first picture!
Yes, Hannah sits very nicely at the piano! She certainly doesn’t have to be reminded to sit up straight! Is that an AG baby grand piano? It certainly fits the RRFF better than the AG dolls! Thank you for sending in those pictures!
What happened to my first few sentences about your photo bombers? I mentioned that it looks like your “background scene” was taken at the North Pole, while Frieda was in the tropics!
Thanks, Linda. Dressing them this time was the easy part. Trying to figure out what to do with them was a bit of a struggle. I can’t take much credit for my little ones wearing attire. The dress you like is by Jo Flitton, Betsy’s matches. I bought them when I only had Tiny Betsy and one Heartstring doll so I often dressed them alike. Eva, Jacquie and Modern Ginny also are wearing frocks from Jo. Modern Ginny’s is actually a Kish Riley dress that was left when Jo closed her shop so I bought it figuring it would fit someone. Vintage Ginny, my two Paola Minis, Jade and Shirley are wearing dresses from Ginny Doll Creations.
Linda, I forgot to tell you that yes the piano is AG. I saw one in one of our sofa sister’s pictures and did an eBay search. I found one at a good price. It actually sits on top of my piano. I have a spinet which I love – we are the same age – but the AG Baby Grand gives me a visual when I pretend to be playing a Baby Grand. I have a very vivid imagination.
Such lovely pictures! I enjoyed seeing them all. It is fun to see your girls’ different faces and how well they do look like they are performing. Great job!
Thanks, Karen. I noticed that Eva is looking at the ceiling. The things you notice after you send the pictures on their way. But it did remind me of my Chorale director one showing us one of our performance pictures and pretty much everyone was looking at places other than at her. Probably searching the audience for family and friends. And we’re adults.
Hubby and Reuben photobombing was priceless!
Oh my gosh! What a fabulous grouping of dolls and their exquisite attire. I love the littles concert in red and white. Wonderful dresses on each and those tiny shoes as well. This pic is Christmas card adorable. 🙂 It looks like Hana has been practicing a lot to provide such accompaniment. Greer Adele and her trio will be on the hit parade this week. How fun. Made my morning. Thank you Barbara for dressing and staging everyone is these so sweet photos. 🙂
Love the 40 degree weather photos, Jeanne. Such a contrast with darling Vibrant in Violets and Reuben and George in the photo bomb. At least the snow has melted. 🙂
Keep warm everyone. We’re in for some 40mph winds and extreme cold starting tomorrow here in CA. Not looking forward to it at all and neither are the plants.
Don’t you love the direction of the hearts on Lissy’s pinafore? Yes, that is our favorite Trentsation’s pattern with the one-piece pinafore that I turned the wrong way on the fabric but never noticed until I put it on her. There wasn’t enough fabric to cut it again so we’re just learning to live with it. I’m thinking this might be a good pattern to alter to include side seams or I’ll probably do the same thing again.
I actually thought it was supposed to be that way. Love them sideways. That pattern is definitely a classic. Love it. 🙂
Frieda’s violet dress & accessories are WONDERFUL!! Has anyone else noticed that Frieda looks like a young Elizabeth Taylor?? She had violet eyes & would have loved your ensemble!
HI Barb,
Yes, several ladies have mentioned the Liz Taylor likeness the last few days… If only she had violet eyes… I’m surprised no one has swapped out her brown eyes for violet ones..
Blessings, Jeanne
Wow, I really love Vibrant in Violets! So perfect for Easter and Spring Garden parties. I imagine you had on a warm coat. I think I see Freida’s lips turning blue, hoping the photo shoot will move along quickly.
Joy, I hope your weather is not too hard on you or your plants. 40 mph winds are definitely nothing to sneeze at.
Thanks, Jeanne, for posting my last-minute Valentine pictures. The girls are over the moon and will dedicate their next concert to you. I’m thinking they may have an ulterior motive behind that but their thanks is truly heartfelt, mine too.
Hi Barbara, what a delight to see your sweet girls all dressed up. How talented they all are. Hanna sits beautifully at the piano. I love the dress and pinafore on Eden Grace and Greer Adele’s dress is so soft and sparkly looking.
The hearts done that way on Lissy’s pinafore give it a very unique look. Thanks for sharing them.
George and Rueben photobombing the pictures is too funny. Personally, I would have let the ones with Rueben in them stay.
Thanks, Laura. You can see where my interests lie when not focused on doll things. As well as several pianists and a harpist, I have several girls who play the violin, clarinet, flute and guitar. And they are all amazing vocalists. Oh, and I have several dancers too.
Thankfully I do not have to pay for lessons for all this.
Barbara, your girls look like they are having a great get together! Adorable, thanks so much for sharing. I love seeing how other dollies activities.
Jeanne the violets outfit is really sweet, and Frieda models it beautifully too. It’s so much fun to see all the accessories come together.
Thanks, Dorothy L. Yes they were enjoying themselves immensely. There is a bit of “ham” in all of them.
