MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thought I’d show one final pair of jeans for James… or any other Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll you may have.

I was determined to get the crotch area right before I moved on to Christmas dresses. I’ll pull together the rest of James’ outfit, but just wanted to show you the outcome of these last few days of sewing jeans… this was my 10th pair…

I think it’s about as good as I’m going to get them…but I couldn’t show them with his shirt because the snap on the shirt placket hits at the exact same spot as the waistband of the jeans and makes it too thick to close his jeans. I’ll have to move that snap above or below the waistline, but didn’t take time to do it tonight…

So here are the jeans…

I had to extend the crotch seam in the front of the jeans to give it a centered, smooth, non-wrinkly look.

Here is the 9th pair on the left and the 10th pair…

This is the leather belt I made for James…

What a handsome little man James is!!!

See you tomorrow… and it won’t be about jeans!!!

Blessings, Jeanne

  1. James is adorable and it looks like you nailed it on the jeans – the whole pant’s design.
Charlotte, I’m thinking of you and hope you are on the mend. This can’t be easy for you right now. Take care – both you and Ron.

For some reason I’m not getting your posts for the last couple of days, Jeanne, so hoping that my reply today will initiate your blog back into my email. I’m sure that will work.

My husband will be getting his other shoulder replaced this time next Monday so we are accomplishing some necessary chores and errands before that happens. Always helps to plan ahead for things like this.

Jeanne, I think you have James jeans nailed down now! I can’t complain with anything about them! Paired with that darling shirt, this is a good start to making boys clothes.

I was wondering, has anyone heard from Charlotte since her fall? I’m hoping she is not in pain and is getting help.

I cannot keep wondering who is going to get the next Christmas dress? Maybe one of your smaller dolls like Ten Ping or ?

More snow for us today, but it is a very wet one and will probably be gone later on today, but was so pretty when we first looked outside this morning!

Paula, I don’t get the blog in my email either, if that helps!

Well, the jeans have it! Jeanne has the secret perfect pattern as well. So nice to see dolly jeans so well made. Now James can attend the county fair next summer and be able to participate in the rodeo as well. 🙂 Of course, I’m sure he plans to go snowboarding or take that toboggan on a fast downhill run if he’s not gathering with friends at a big Thanksgiving dinner next week. Might be fun Jeanne, to take a pic of your feast table with James in attendance. 🙂
Can’t wait to see the first Christmas dress. Have you seen the Christmas Ruby Red girls? Pretty cute with dresses and coats as well. 🙂 Around here we can definitely use coats as it is below 32 again today. The unusual cold weather has made the leaves turn colors so it is pretty raking the many fallen leaves. More to do today.
Was hoping that we’d get an update on Charlotte’s condition. Maybe she has a friend that can give us some news? Hope she is in recovery mode.
Keep warm those in the cold zones.

  4. Just a quick note… Charlotte fell again.. on the same arm… Ron called the EMT’s and they helped her up. She was able to stay at home..she said no surgery was necessary but she’d be in pain while it initially heals. She broke her shoulder just above the humerus bone…

Thanks Jeanne for the update. This is not good news. Sounds like Charlotte needs to stay put and get someone to wait on her. I wonder if it is her left or right arm? Depending on which is her dominant hand, that could also be a problem.
Hope she is a super healer.

  5. They look great Jeanne! So just to be clear (and learn) you moved the crotch seam to back a smidge?

    1. I actually made the front seam a little longer and curved… when I sewed the front yo the back, because was front seam wasn’t long enough, it pulled the back seam forward, causing the puckering in the back and the not laying right in the front…
      Hope that helps…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Oh NO!! Just read about Charlotte falling again. So sorry for her. Hubby fell and broke his humerus and dislocated his shoulder in early August. Fortunately no surgery was needed, but i’s a long haul for recovery. Sigh.

  7. And thanks for the info on the shirt pattern. That was my guess, but just wanted to be sure. Thanks again!

James’ jeans have really come a long way. They look great now!

I can’t imagine falling on the same arm that was injured previously. How horrible – and painful. Is there a clue as to why Charlotte is falling? Maybe the pain is causng her to be dizzy – or the medications she is taking for the pain. I’ll be doubly praying for Charlotte that she has no more falling mishaps.

A few years ago hubby and sons were out trimming our trees. David was on the ladder with the chainsaw. He fell off – with the chainsaw still running – the ladder fell and he fell on the ladder. We took him to the emergency clinic here, which was also our primary care doctor, and they “supposedly” x-rayed him, etc. He was in horrible pain. He evidently had a dislocated shoulder which no one seemed to detect because a couple days later he went to push himself up in his chair and heard something go pop. He was afraid he had done something serious but the one level of pain went away. He had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor the next week. The doctor said hmm looks like your ribs are healing nicely. David said what?! The doctor said you didn’t know you had some broken ribs? No he didn’t. It’s like they took the x-rays but never read them. But I do believe my husband has a serious Guardian Angel judging from how often he avoids the worst scenarios.

My heater is on but LOL not needed much today. I was just outside without a jacket and it felt good. Nice and sunny, crisp and a little breezy. Like fall should be.

  9. I remember hearing about “falls” on older folks and couldn’t figure out why it was so common…..well I sure know now. 😳It is like that sense of balance somehow disappears before you know it.
Charlotte… sure hope you get past the painful part. Shoulders can come back…it just takes awhile🥴 saying 🙏🏻 for you.
The jeans are really PERFECT. Your stick-to-it- gene works☺️ It paid off. Love the gold stitching..looks so authentic…and the belt….did you make that too?
    Hummm…now cowboy boots?😉
Have had company here so now maybe I can work on my “boy” Siblie . It will be a picture story.
I’m not getting the email either…but I did sign up again☺️
