Some dolly costumes sure to make you smile…

HI everyone,
I was all ready to show you what I had gotten done on Molly’s set, but forgot I said I’d show Linda’s pictures… Maybe I can get Molly’s set completely finished before the next post… :o)

In the meantime, enjoy these cute pictures…

Linda said this in her email…

“Jeanne, I am sending some pictures of my dolls ready for Halloween. This first one is of the modern girls, Scarlett, Ivy and Emmy. Emmy has the new costume this year, Snow White,…..in pigtails, no less!”

“Here we are, Grecian Princess, Cow Girl, Mermaid and Tinkerbell!”

“Molly’s mother has set up the kitchen table for a party! The dogs have noticed the basket of candy! Hope it stays safe!”

“Here is my wooden dollhouse in the doll room. Witches and ghosts have taken residence!”

Well, those should you keep you busy searching for all the details in Linda’s pictures…

Thanks Linda… I know everyone loves it when you dress up your dolls…

Blessings, Jeanne

Linda, thanks so much for sharing the pictures of your dolls and dollhouse, all ready for Halloween. So much fun to see everyone/everything!! I think my favorite of the outfits is Snow White, but I love Tinkerbell, too.

I see your auction is going well, Jeanne. I wonder if it’ll be another bidding war?!

    1. HI Charlotte,
It’s always fun when Linda shows us pictures, isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed them.
Well, there wasn’t a bidding war on the dress last night, but a new lady did buy it and is super excited to have won it.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Thak you Charlotte! I do have fun with fixing up everything, and probably overdo, but like I mentioned, it is fun! I have collected these costumes through the years, and this really is the only time to use them!

Actually, Molly”s costume, the cowgirl one, is not really a costume, but several things I put together like we would have done long ago. They are separates from different outfits, ranging from Molly to Julie! Those are Julie’s boots, Molly’s Dude Ranch blouse, JLY skirt, and a hat that is a generic hat off Ebay. I had considered getting the new Cowgirl costume that AG just put out, but this worked for me and was cheaper too!

Thank you, Jeanne, for showing my pictures! I hope everyone enjoys them!

    1. HI Linda,
It is ALWAYS fun to see what your girls are wearing and how you have them set up. I know it takes a lot of time and I’m glad you enjoy doing it, so WE CAN ENJOY THEM TOO!
      Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

Thank you Linda! I always enjoy seeing your dolls in season. You inspire me to get busy in the doll room.

I am sure Molly’s dress will be just perfect for the holidays. She looks great in the fabrics you chose : )

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Debbie! Yes, you need to get into your doll room and have some fun with it!

    2. HI Debbie, I’m glad you enjoyed the girls dressed up by Linda today. She inspires me to get busy too with keeping my dolly area cleaned up… it’s a bit messy again…UGH!
I’m hoping things go the way I want them to tomorrow and can get it finished… so much to do, so little time! (Said seamstresses everywhere! )
      Thanks Debbie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, this is so fun. Linda’s photos are fantastic. The costumes are so exciting. Lots of ideas floating around here. I love Molly’s combo costume. Great idea. Everyone looks so festive and the little touches added into the background/foreground are just the right amount. Such an artist. 🙂 The party table is so festive. Those little pumpkin placemats are adorable. Love the pups stalking the candy basket. 🙂 All I can say about the wooden dollhouse decorating is that it is very scary! I jumped when I saw that huge spider on the roof! Eeeek! I know the scenes took a lot of work, but so worth it for us. Thanks so much Linda and Jeanne for sharing today. 🙂
On another note, I got caught yesterday. Ugh. UPS had sent a notice that my package was to arrive between 1:00 and 7:00. I didn’t bother to check the truck as it usually isn’t available until the timeframe, so we went for lunch. Upon our return, there was the big box sitting smack dab on the landing. Not even up on the porch where I might have spied it as we were driving by. It was 12:15. What’s with the 1:00 to 7:00 time? Of course, other person was not a happy camper. What? Another one? Little did he know that there were two inside. 🙂 I haven’t yet had a clear moment to even open the box yet, but hopefully today. Halloween here we come. 🙂

Thank you for your compliments, Joy! I have so many little things from collecting years and years ago, so I hardly ever have to go looking for more “stuff”! Contrary to what you think, the little pumpkins placemats are just one human sized placemat which is placed over a kitchen towel and both from Kohl’s. They have some cute kitchen things for very reasonable prices.

So funny to hear about all your doll deliveries, but I guess not for you! Good luck with calming the “beast”!

    2. Hi Joy, well at least it’s good that the siblie will get in undetected. Too bad you can’t have many dolls arrive in one box Then other person would only suspect one with lots of packing material. Congrats on your dolly family additions.

    3. Hi Joy,
Thanks for your glowing review of Linda’s dolls and the scenes she creates… It’s always fun to see what she has up her sleeve! :o)

Sorry you got caught with another dolly(s) being delivered at the “wrong” time… when is that mailman ever going to learn not to bring things when it’s not convenient… I’m thinking maybe “someone” really doesn’t “mind” if you get things… but he just puts up a front so you’ll think he’s upset! Could be… you never know! :o)
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I always look forward to Linda’s pictures of her girls. It’s a lot of work pulling it all together, I’m sure, it’s so well worth it! Love the kitchen scene. All the little thoughtful ideas are wonderful.
Those pumpkin placemats are adorable. The scene creates what many moms did for their children after all the trick or treating.

Jeanne, can’t wait to see more of Molly’s outfit.

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Paula! Yes, it is a lot of work, but it keeps me happy and busy! This is my room where I sit in the evenings to watch tv, and I have all this fun “stuff” around me! And best of all, I get to share it will all of you sofa sisters!

    2. HI Paula,
Glad you enjoyed Linda’s dolls dressed up too… I think we’d miss them if Linda stopped sharing her pics with us!
You’ll see more of Molly tomorrow and maybe all of the pieces will be done by Friday! I’m glad you are enjoying the process of getting this set put together…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Great pictures, Linda, I especially like the kitchen scene with the cute puppies! I love Halloween decorations so thanks for sharing!

    1. HI Terri,
I’m glad you were enjoying the pictures from Linda along with everyone else today! It was a treat to see them, wasn’t it?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Hello Jeanne,
Linda, we really enjoyed your pictures, with all your dolls ready for Halloween.
I think they are having fun already. You really inspired me to unpack my doll outfits and doll decorations.
Thanks again Linda for sharing the pictures, we really liked all the dolls and their customs. You are very creative.
Have a wonderful day you all.
    Angela

    1. HI Angela,
I think Linda’s dolls dressed up, brought a smile to everyone’s face today… glad it did you too! I do hope you get some dolly things out of the boxes and dress up a few girls to enjoy!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Linda in St. Louis

And thank you, Angela, for your kind words! I certainly do hope that you were inspired to unpack your dolly things and have fun with them! Yes, my dolls do have fun!

  9. I’m running very, very late today. Kitty check-up this morning and then other essentials first, but I’m here now.
It’s always so much fun to see your photos, Linda. All of your dolls look so pretty and of course I love the black kitty figures on the shelf and the pups you include in the scenes. Animals make the scene as far as I’m concerned.
You kitchen scene is so cute. It reminds me of my grade school classmate who always had a Halloween party. We would go to her house and have dinner and treats and then out trick or treating afterwards.
How fun that you even have your dollhouse all dolled up. Thanks again for sharing them.

    1. HI Laura,
Well, it’s a hit with Linda’s dolls today. Everyone enjoyed them and it seems you did too! I knew you’d like the kitty too! :o)
I guess the next holiday is Christmas, so we can look forward to that from Linda too… I bet she’s already thinking of who is going to wear what! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Laura! I always think of you when putting the animals in the scenes, because you are such an animal lover! And thank you so much for noticing everything! I think sometimes I am recreating my childhood fixing up the scenes. We always had our kitchen table decorated for Halloween, and of course my birthday, which was the next day. I remember having tummy aches from eating too much candy on Halloween! Not the way you want to spend your birthday!☹️

  11. Linda…I admire all the time and attention you spend on setting up your dolls for the seasons and holidays. These current pictures are just so detailed and super cute. Love the American Girls costumes…the cow girl might be my fav.but Betsy is so cute too….and Superwoman…where to stop? I have some fall table decorations from Kohls too😉 My eye went to that tiny authentic tea kettle on the stove. Now they can have tea!
Thank you so much for sending your photos!

    1. HI Kathie,
It seems that dolly people always seem to gravitate toward the things in stores that we can use for our dollies… I know I do…and you do too!
I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures from Linda… I think we all did! :o)
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Kathie! I’m happy that I made you happy seeing my dolls and doll room. That tea kettle is actually a timer for a stove. It turns at the base for how many minutes you want it before the whistle sounds. I found it at a kitchen supply shop. The things you can find for dolls in the most unlikely place is amazing!

  13. Sally from Colorado

Linda, you are really something wonderful. Every time you and Jeanne present your photos of your dolls doing things, we ALL get such pleasure. It is so obvious that you yourself have such fun getting your dolls dressed so very, very well and finding the accessories to add interesting details to flesh out your scenes. The delights seem unending. What a fun house you must have; I wish I could visit and ooh over everything in person. This is definitely second best to that. A million thanks for sharing your passions with us! 🙌🙏🥰

    1. HI Sally,
It truly would be fun if we “could” visit each others houses and see what all they had in the way of dolly things… I think the chatter would be non stop… I love talking about dolls and their clothes and props… My eyes go to the small things all the time…
I’m glad you enjoyed Linda’s pictures… just like we did with your dolls when you shared them a while back… We all live vicariously through each other’s dolls, and clothes and props!
      Thanks Sally,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Wow, Sally, now that is a compliment! Thank you so much for such kind words! I really do have fun with my dolls, and I hope to share that fun with others. Evidently I have! I try to do a fun things every day with my dolls, and I guess you could say I am an overgrown eight year old!😉
