Ten Ping gets a new sun hat and a friend…

My satellite is not working right now because we had a storm go through…so I’m writing the text of this post on my phone and hoping I can get my pictures loaded as soon as it starts working again…the trouble is it’s already after midnight and my modem is showing no signs of flashing lights… but I’m hoping…

I had to finish some alterations for someone today so my sewing time was limited…but I still have some fun pictures to share with you.

A few ladies mentioned Ten Ping needed a sun hat and that’s just what I was thinking too…so you got that right.
I fringed another strip of the batik fabric and ran a basting stitch along the edge, then wound it around in a circle a few times and look what it turned into… I added some felt leaves in the back and some tiny buttons on the front… the brim should definitely keep the sun off her very delicate face.

I asked her if she’d like to look in the Dolly Toy box and she sure did. She found this sweet little Peridot colored bear and decided to name her Sadie. They are best friends now…

Here are some fun pictures of them playing around in front of my camera…

Awww… kisses for Sadie…

Yep… best friends…

Yay… it’s 1:10 a.m. and my pictures just loaded… all is well… good night!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a darling outfit for Ten Ping, Jeanne!! I love how the sun hat turned out, too, and the pictures of her loving onto her Sadie are just precious.

If you keep making such cute outfits for her, MY Gigi is going to need her own closet! (She’s not only telling me she needs everything you make in her size, but now is suggesting I look at my 8″ doll clothes patterns, as she’s sure that she could think of other things for Me to make, also!! 🙄😄)

    1. Thank you Charlotte
I took some outside pictures and Ten Ping looks sweeter than ever! I even managed to get it listed on Ebay too!!

Now Gigi has 2 outfits from me to gaze at!! :o)
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh, I meant to add, in reference to how you know when to stop when putting together an outfit or ensemble, I know just what you mean. After you’ve been sewing for a while, particularly something like this, where it’s a complete outfit or a mix-and-match set, you develop a sense as to how much is “enough”. I find that’s true with other things, also–I once made a small purse with silk ribbon embroidery on the flap. I didn’t have a pattern, I just knew I wanted roses and lilacs on it,and someone asked me how I knew when to stop making the flowers. My reply was, well, it just looked like it was finished! (You know, no blank spaces, a balanced although asymmetrical design, etc.)

    1. I think when you sew a lot, you just get a sense of when to quit…
      Thanks Charlotte,

Ten Ping looks adorable in her new sun hat and cuddling her tiny bear, Sadie! The hat is just perfect, with the brim turned up or down, and the whole outfit could not be cuter, along with those darling shoes that started it all!

Have any of you seen that AG reintroduced Molly yesterday, along with her birthday, school and camping outfits and accessories? While I do have most of it, I certainly can use that camp set! Molly still needs a winter coat set, hint, hint! Remember that pretty blue one you made eons ago Jeanne? It got me interested in you and the things you made!

    1. Thank you Linda,
I’m glad you like Ten Ping’s new little play set. It was really fun to make.
I hadn’t seen the new Molly doll…but I do know which coat you are talking about…my goodness, that seems like such a long time ago.
      Thanks Linda

Looks like it is going to be pretty hard for Ten to relinquish Sadie the bear. Such a cute pair. Wonderful outfit for summer, and Miss Ping is a great model.
Last day of school around here. The excitement builds. 🙂

    1. Thank you Joy,
We took some outside pictures this afternoon and Ten Ping really enjoyed herself…we even got it listed on Ebay,!
      Thanks Joy,

  5. Perfect! Love the complete look and it all started with shoes. By the way, how big is that dolly toy box? Seems to be never ending. Lol. The fringing is the perfect accent on the outfit and the flower is genius (Jeanne-ius). I can’t wait to “try” to copy the look.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
It’s funny you asked about the Dolly Toy Box…I was just raking inventory of my tiny bears and I gave quite a few but I found myself looking for more last night.
      Thank you Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Lynne,
I’m glad you like this new set… it was fun to make…

Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping just looks cuter and cuter.

The photos with Sadie make me think of a children’s book cover. They are adorable.

    1. Thanks Dorothy,
We took some outside pictures this afternoon and now it’s listed on Ebay! Yay!!

    Good morning Jeanne
I’m not babysitting today and hubby has a golf tournament so he’s gone for a few days. I feel so spoiled, I can do whatever I want today! Yeah
Look who got two outfits in a row… I just love Ten Ping she’s so sweet. Good luck on the auctions. If I had tiny ten ping both outfits would have an Ingrid bid.
The reason I’ve been Mia lately is I have something going on with my left eye… Having trouble with close work and reading. It’s like I’m looking through two blabs of Vaseline. Because they move a little some days are better than others. Eye doc said it’s something he can take care of but that they will most likely form again and if he was me he’d wait and see if they break up. Wish I could recall what he called it but I can’t, I was so sure I was losing my eye site and so relieved it wasn’t much to worry about that my mind sort of went numb at the appointment. Hope everyone is well… Did anyone on the sofa win the sock monkey contest? My monkey fabric remains untouched sadly.
    Hugs to all the SS
    Ingrid

    1. Hi Ingrid,
Oh, I hope you had a good and fun day by yourself today!! Sometimes being alone is a good thing!!
Is what you have in your eyes floaters or maybe scar tissue? I know the scar tissue can be gotten rid of with laser surgery…
Whatever it is, I hope your doctor can figure out the best steps to get back your clear eyesight!!
I will keep you in my prayers,
      Thanks Ingrid,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Ten Pings hat looks so difficult to make. It is so nicely formed and smooth…you make accessories look so easy and they are not🤔 The shoes are super cute…to think they started a whole outfit ☺️She looks totally ready for summer. The pictures could be a story. Posing her in all those different ways are adorable.
Back to weeding again today…How do they grow faster than what you have planted?

    1. Hi Kathie,
Oh, that hat isn’t hard at all…
I’m trying to do “simple” right now…
Yes, those green shoes started it all… :o)
We did trimming bushes and raking today too…hard work!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Ten Ping’s little outfit is so cute. She’ll be ready for a picnic. Sadie is adorable and makes a great friend.

    1. Hi Laura,
Well, Ten Ping and Sadie didn’t have a picnic, but they did go to the park… :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne
