I am happy to report my colonoscopy is over and I can get back to sewing! Thank you for any of you who prayed! It went very well and was over so quickly my hubby was jealous. He had to wait a few hours for his… I was in and out in just about an hour. Of course, I had an earlier appointment than he had and had been up since 3:45 taking the 2nd half of the prep stuff… After I came home, I went to bed and slept till 3:00! But I’m going to bed early again tonight, (after I finish this) because I am still tired.
When I woke up I piddled around a little bit and then decided I’d work on the listing and see if I couldn’t get my pictures all pulled together and on Ebay tonight… but I missed the time when I list things, so it will go on Wednesday evening.
However, as I saw all the pieces all spread out on my cutting table, for the “group picture” of what was included, I happened to glance over and see Rozen on the Dolly Shelf and I think she blinked at me… that made me pick her up and I began to wonder what she might look like in this dress set… Well, my question was soon answered and I thought I’d show you what I mean… she looks REALLY WONDERFUL in this set… I even stepped out on the back porch and held her up and took a few pictures of her in the wind. It was getting ready to rain and I wanted to have at least a few pictures to show you what the fabric REALLY looks like. It’s been somewhat hard to photograph… as it looks a bit washed out…
Anyway, the poses from Rozen are pretty much the same, becaue I was holding her with my left hand and trying to get her far enough away from me to take a few pictures… but I think you’ll like them… even if they are mostly alike… My phone switched to black and white when I took 2 of the pictures and I included them because I think they look charming!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, yes, Rozen does look lovely in that outfit! But I think it would look good on any of our girls, really. (And I can see how the wind was blowing her hair a bit!)
We had wind the other day. Today we had….SNOW!! Well, not right where we live, but I drove through a heavy snowfall on my way home from the doctor’s office (wellness check), it was even sticking to the road! Traffic slowed from 60 down to 30 mph “right quick”!! And then,…I drove out of it, and it was just dry and partly sunny where I live. (I go to a clinic about 30 miles from home–have been going there since 1971 or so. My original doctor retired, and he recommended Laura, a nurse practitioner, so she’s been my “doctor” for about 25 years now. I really can’t see going anywhere else, even though there are lots of clinics and doctors’ offices closer to home!)
Don’t tell Freida yet, but I finally got the last of the snaps on her dress tonight! Hopefully we’ll have time for a photo session tomorrow or, at the latest, Thursday. I just know she’s going to want new shoes next!!
What a perfectly charming group of photographs, Jeanne! Rozen looks so calm, happy and so comfortable in those pictures! I love the wispy stands of her hair caught up in the breeze too. The whole set is perfect, and the black and white pictures give it an antique look, like it was taken back in the “olden” days! As a matter of fact, my wedding photos from the photographer were all done in black and white, as I thought colored pictures were too amateurish, and I left those to snapshots! Well, you have to remember that was 55 years ago!
It looks like Carbondale is right in the midst of high winds and storms, so I hope you don’t have any damage. We are on the alert here too! Stay safe!
Linda I did chuckle a bit at your “olden” days comment. After my mother passed away I went through her pictures and found many taken during my childhood (1950’s-60s). I found pictures of the first day of school, Easter pictures and pictures taken the day of my Confirmation. When I see the pictures I see the colors of the dresses but never think about the fact that to others they are black and white and they have no clue what color the outfits were..
Glad your colonoscopy went fast.
I especially like the second black and white picture of Rozen. It turned out very well.
Yesterday I finally got to hear the baby’s heartbeat! It makes it seem more real.
That is so exciting, Karen!
I never have been pregnant–we adopted our son–so that is a joy I’ve never had. However, I had a good friend who allowed me to somewhat experience some things when she was pregnant (about 45 years ago!!)–feeling the baby move, for instance, and telling me about how her body changed and felt as the baby grew. Recently a young couple at church also had me feel the baby during those last months, and a week and a half ago, I got to hold little Rowan (who is now 8 weeks old!) for the first time. She was looking all around, and I got to hold her for quite a while. (I also got to hold three of my five grandchildren within 24 hours of their births–which was very special.)
I love it when it takes a second glance to see that the pretty girl in the picture is really — “Wait a minute, that’s a doll!”
That hat really works — it’s very becoming and charmingly old-fashioned without looking out of date. I’m predicting another fun-to-watch auction.
I am glad that your procedure went well and quickly. You deserve some rest today and it sounds like you are planning some.
Still no snow and no rain here. We need one big snow in the mountains for summer water.
Looks like Jeanne is getting creative with the photography! Love how wonderful the pictures turned out. Rosen with her hair slightly blowing and not losing her hat along with the perfect black and white. Fun.
Hoping that the weather misses your area, but it is a big storm. 🙁
And it sounds like CO is in the same boat as CA. Hope you get some mountain snow, Marilyn. We’re hoping to get a few more drops into the weekend.
And congrats on those snaps, Charlotte. A great feat accomplished. 🙂
Rozen looks wonderful in the dress set as well. The whole thing is so sweet. Some little dolly will be so pleased with her May Day dress. I like the black and white photos. I have a couple of rolls from my childhood that were developed that way also.
We’re having rain and very windy here as well.
Congrats on the snaps, Charlotte. Looking forward to pictures.
Rosen does look like a real girl in those pictures☺️Is it her hair blowing that adds to the real look? Honestly that little purse is just so perfect. The detail and little pieces added to it are amazing. Glad her hat didn’t go flying off in the wind ☺️
Getting your procedure done and out of there in an hour must be a record! Take advantage of the extra naps.🥱
Must get busy…having 8 ladies for lunch tomorrow. We started a group when the County sponsored “lessons” through the State Extension office..it was 1971 and we still meet almost every month. We don’t do lessons anymore but have fun getting together and keeping up with all the kids, grandkids and now even some great grandkids!
Jeanne, your Rozen pictures are lovely. The black and white pictures remind me of the ones taken during my childhood. I don’t remember if there was even color film back then but I’m sure if they had it the cost would have been more to purchase and have developed.
I never thought about holding a doll and taking a picture. That’s a great idea. I don’t have a lovely yard like yours but doing it that way I could go out into the country around here and take pictures because there’s no set-up needed.
Ingrid, the type house you mentioned sounds like the SIP (structural insulated panel) houses my husband wants to build when he develops our property. Even small homes are getting very expensive to “stick build” and these homes help with that. I’ve seen the floor plan for the houses he will be using and I love it. I’m a floor plan junkie and this one has everything I could want in a house but usually would need a larger house to find it.
