LOTS of Dolly pictures and more…

I apologize for not getting to your comments again today… a haircut for my hubby, another bout with Social Security, a license plate hiccup, a long phone call with Rebecca, and worst of all… a missed sale on Etsy! Apparently a lady bought a Patsy slip from my Etsy shop on September 1st… I either missed it because I was busy with the wedding or it didn’t go through. Anyway, she just left me a bad review on my Etsy page… I went to my Etsy shop and apparently I have been locked out… I can’t get in to see what happened… I know what slip she wanted, and I know her name but I have no idea where she lives… so I sent her a message from my phone telling her I was sorry I had missed her order and that I would get it out in the mail tomorrow and would refund her money as well. I hope she gets back to me, otherwise I have no idea how to reach her.
So I started trying to figure out what has happened to my Etsy shop… I can still see my things for sale on there, but I can’t into it like the administrator is supposed to be able to… what a pain… I have been working for a LONG time trying to figure it out. I finally sent an email to Etsy asking for help… Maybe there is a simple solution… I hope so…

I have to share this with you…it’s about the only thing I found to laugh at today… my hubby and I were working on a problem with my Social Security application… (still!!!) and there was an attachment I needed to add for my hubby’s information …well it was supposed to be a picture of his driver’s license I had taken with my phone. Instead of the picture of his license, guess what I attached…

I’m NOT kidding… it was that picture from Kathie a few weeks ago… The problem is I CANNOT get it deleted… so it keeps coming up invalid… we laughed till we cried…then tried to cancel the whole thing and start over, but it wouldn’t cancel… we are COMPUTER IDIOTS… :o)

Okay, today I have some fun dolly pictures to share with you…I just checked my emails and am going to go in the order of the pictures I received…

First up is Joy, with her new Ruby Red Fashion Friends… Freya and Elinda… She sent two pictures, so you get double the cuteness!

Then I received this picture from Susette… looks like lots of Elinda’s are living in California!

Apparently Ruby Red Fashion Friends were arriving with lots of stains on their bodies from the black fabrics being used for the costumes for the dolls, so they started sending the dolls undressed like this… and even unwigged…

But wait…there is more! This is the Dolly Piano Recital… Stella is playing the piano and Hannah is on the violin… I JUST LOVE these pictures, Susette! Fantastic shots!

The grand piano has a set of three songs that play, but the upright has to have Luca actually touch the keys 🎹. Maybe he’ll catch on some day. One of the ladies mentioned the violin, so I ordered one, and I had already bought the dress for Hanna thinking it would be perfect for a recital.

This is Luca playing the “manual” piano…not the one with the recording…

Sylvia sent this…”For the girls that wanted to see some New England color This is The Balsams that Sally mentioned a couple of weeks ago.” How beautiful it is, Sylvia! Thanks for sharing it with us…

New England Trees…

Then I received this fun picture of Linda’s girls with this short note… “Jeanne, I was just going through my pictures and remember fixing up my three 40’s girls earlier this year as junior bridesmaids. I had never done that before, so tried it out, and of course, Betsy had to get in on it too!. After I saw this, I thought to myself, since Rebecca had no attendants, she should have picked these four!!”

Thank you Linda! They are beautiful, just like they always are! We are still praying for your recent knee replacement! I hope you are 100% very soon!

I did get some progress made on my girls dresses, but I will save those pictures for tomorrow… the red plaid one is my favorite SO FAR… of course, I’ve always been a little partial to red…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, I’m first? Well, I really enjoyed today’s post with all your adventures, Jeanne, although that problem with the slip wasn’t the best. By the way, what is a Patsy slip? The others are called Patriotic Slips.

Oh my gosh, that picture! You had me laughing till I cried! George is young looking, but not THAT
    young! Can’t believe that happened!🤣

Joy and Susette, your dolls are completely adorable! That piano concert looks so real! What a job to dress everyone and put them in their chairs! Getting down on the floor with them can’t be too comfortable, but those pictures are so good! You certainly have well rounded girls that take their lessons so seriously!

That picture of those gorgeous trees make me want to travel to New England, where I have never been, Sylvia! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and those beautiful trees are one of the reasons. Thank you for sending those and to Jeanne for showing them.

    1. HI Linda,
Yes, you are first today! Congratulations on being the early bird…at 8:36 a.m., you slept in today… or at least got to the comments later… I do hope your knee is working better with each day that passes.

Oh, I guess I should have been more clear… a Patsy slip is for 10″ Patsy Tonner. oops… my mistake for not clarifying.

Isn’t that the most awful thing that could have happened… sending that picture to the Social Security? Well, it might have been worse sending it to the IRS… eek!

I just loved Susette’s recital pictures… they almost looked like the real thing, didn’t they?

…and your pictures of all the bridesmaids… what a dreamy set of girls you have there. Loved it! I might have to share that with Rebecca… :o)

Rebecca and Karn are going on their honeymoon trip next week to West Virginia… I bet they’ll see some pretty countryside this time of year. Hope they take some gorgeous pictures too!

      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Linda, your wedding party looks absolutely lovely. The junior bridesmaids look beautiful in their pretty dresses and flower girl Betsy looks adorable as usual. thanks for sharing.

  2. Marilyn from Colorado

The social security picture IS the BEST — that’s very funny as well as very frustrating. The Etsy mess, on the other hand, is just a mess. I hope it straightens itself out quickly.

And then there are all those sweet pictures. I love the dolls listening to the recital. Imagine having enough small chairs, let alone TWO pianos.

You may have had too much distraction, but you managed a very nice column for us.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I just found a phone number for Etsy to call for help… I’m going to call as soon as I get done with these comments. I sure hope they can help. The buyer hasn’t gotten in touch with me so far… I’m just hoping I can redeem myself with her for future sales… I feel horrible for what happened…

I’m glad you enjoyed the recital pictures too… I just loved them and think Susette captured the mood of the students as well as the audience! Great pictures!

      Thanks Marilyn,
I hope I have a better ending to my day today! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

    What fun!!!
First of all, so sorry for the Social Security fiasco. Your sending babies to Social Security cracked me up. I once sent, not babies, but an attachment that I thought was a letter I had written to a city council member, but whoa, it was not. I sent an attachment of a pair of boy dolls underwear briefs. Not quite porn, but close. Ugh! Another example of my ineptitude was sending Jeanne two photos of Elinda and Freya. 🙂
Congrats to Susette and her new Elinda. I’m sure she was on the same plane as the one here. Perhaps, they had lots of fun singing and playing games together on their long journey. I absolutely love the recital. The girls are so talented and both of their dresses lovely. Then, the next photo showing the perspective from behind the piano looking towards the “audience” was quite amazing. How fun to see them sitting there so nicely during the recital. And I had no idea that Luca played. Must locate a piano for the Luca here to demonstrate. 🙂
Linda’s girls are a delightful wedding party. Love the pastels. Perfect. 🙂
So sorry about the Etsy mess. Hopefully, you’ll hear back and get it all fixed soon.
Trying to find a pattern I like for a dress for Annaelle, RRFF, but haven’t found the right one just yet. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
Oh, I bet you know first hand how I felt with the baby picture being sent. I’m sorry, but I had to laugh (out loud) at your fiasco of sending a picture of boys undies to someone. It’s awful when you can’t hit the delete button, isn’t it?

The photos you sent were actually 2 different shots… they were close but I figured they were cute enough to deserve an extra glance! :o)

I think those pictures of the recital are my favorites that Susette has ever sent me. I really enjoyed looking at them… Really!

I hope you find just the right pattern for Anaelle… maybe you’ll know it when you see it… :o)

      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Joy in northern CA

I forgot to thank Sylvia for the beautiful fall scenes. Now I want to see them in person more than ever. 🙂

  4. Kathie from Omaha

A fun post!thanks for the vicarious trip to New England Sylvia. It is such amazing color!
Joy I love the Fairy and of course Elinda! Those costumes are over the top. OK Suzette….you must bat some award for the Recital pictures! How long did it take to dress and pose everyone? Absolutely fantastic. The look so real and the way you have them posed they could walk right out of that picture!
Jeanne…I’m sure SS got a laugh out of the baby doll pic….did they respond at all? Can’t you just see the person who opened the picture laughing?
We finally got our internet fixed…. I think. It is almost sad how much we rely on it.
    Have a better day!

    1. HI Kathie,
I was wondering the same thing about Susette… how long did it take her to set all that up… that was quite a scene, wasn’t it?

The SS place only responded with “rejected attachment.” Duh…

Glad you got your internet fixed… now if I could boast that I got my Etsy shop fixed… if it’s not one thing, it seems to be another… UGH!
      Maybe tomorrow,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. What a fun post today for the most part.
So sorry about your etsy troubles, Jeanne.Hopefully, you will get it straightened out.
Too funny about sending the doll photo.

Congratulations, Joy, on your two new RRFF. I’m sure they were warmly welcomed by the others.I like your tiny pumpkins.

Wow, Susette, I hadn’t realized how many times you have been bitten by the Ruby Red bug.
I’m glad you were able to find a violin as well. Wow, how nice to have chairs for everyone and two pianos. The recital idea is so cute.

Linda, your dolls look so sweet dressed as junior bridesmaids, each with a beautiful bouquet.

    1. HI Laura,
I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures today too… a nice variety and always a fun treat for me to share them…

I was thinking the same thing… chairs for everyone and TWO pianos… Makes me want more props, but I certainly don’t need anymore…

I agree about Linda’s bridesmaids… they are just the sweetest grouping, aren’t they?

      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Susette from Southern California

Thanks for your kind thoughts about the recital pictures. It did take a while to set up but is fun to have and share. I couldn’t resist the pianos since two of my grandchildren play. I did record a short video with sound but it didn’t get through. It was Laura from Ohio who mentioned the violin 🎻. Thanks.

Jeanne, I think you are surely in the Social Security Hall of Fame by now for that wonderful picture of the baby! You know it’s flying around the Internet but without your name attached.

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

Susette, I forgot to mention the wonderful backdrop for your dolls concert. Truly looks like a concert hall.

    2. HI Susette,
I found the video of the recital and might see if I can get it loaded and see if the sound goes through… it might…
Hopefully, my hubby’s name or mine isn’t attached to that picture… I just wish I could talk to someone in person who could help me…
The same goes for my Etsy shop… you can’t talk to ANYONE in person… everything is online and pre-posted problems are posted and you’re supposed to pick what your problem is… MY problem isn’t listed, so trying to describe it in an email just gets me all kinds of responses but not the right ones…

Oh well, surely it will get solved one of these days…
Thanks, Susette, your pictures were truly wonderful!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Barbara in SE Texas

Did Social Security actually get George’s “baby picture”. That was hilarious but I’m sure you’ll be glad when all is fixed.

I’m so sorry about your Etsy problem. Sometimes the ability to receive comments can be a double-edged sword I know one time when Sean and David were doing Kettle Korn for a festival someone left a very nasty comment. It really hurt because it wasn’t true because they are very careful not to burn the corn or leave a lot of “old maids” in the mix. The guy just wanted a bag of corn for free. But when Sean offered that to him but he needed to bring back the defective bag, well he never heard from him again. Problem is he went away but the comment didn’t. The same thing happened once when Sean and Dionne were selling Real Time pain relief. It is great and all natural and everyone who buys it loves it, including David and myself. Someone left a nasty comment but when Sean offered to fix the problem but the person would have to return what he previously bought, that was the end of it. People can be so mean when they want something for nothing. The only time I leave a less than stellar comment is when I think someone really needs to do a better job, like a restaurant.

Joys dolls are cuteness personified. The Elinda dolls are really beautiful. Lucky Joy and Susette. Wish I had one but I really had to calm down for awhile. I realize I can’t have one of every RRFF. They are getting just too many.

My Hanna arrived with stains on her one leg from her black mesh tights. The others have been fine but I understand the thought behind sending the dolls without being dressed. Probably a wise choice on the part of the company.

Susette, where did you get that wonderful concert grand piano (well maybe it’s a baby grand)? I have one like that my Tiny Betsy plays and I have the AG upright that my bigger girls play, but the one in your pictures is absolutely beautiful. My girls have all kinds of instruments but I just haven’t put together a recital. That’s on the agenda for next year – I hope. And I need to acquire some more small chairs. I have quite the audience but they would have to sit on the floor.

My plan was to sew yesterday but I got Shanghaied by my hubby. After he gets his knees fixed and can be more active he plans on developing our property. We have five acres in the city and Sealy really needs more housing. We bought the property years ago because of David’s business. A lot has changed in the city since then and we cannot sell it to another business owner such as ourselves. No zoning but changed land use regulations.

When we moved here there were a lot of large property owners within the city limits. The owners had been farmers and ranchers and we still had a very rural feel. But those people have passed away and the descendants have subdivided the large tracts and sold off the pieces. Our property taxes are high because they took away our ag exemptions years ago and then raised our property values when they built the new high school. So downsizing, especially since David is really no longer in business per se, makes a lot of sense to us. And all that suits us because it will just make it easier to get their cooperation to develop.

I spent yesterday using my home design program to take a very small floorplan and turn it into a more visual and larger plan that is easier to work with. Obviously he will build the houses from blueprints but this is to gather some preliminary information. David has been in all kinds of construction over the years often as the superintendent and Sean is an A/C contractor. Jason has spent a lot of time over the years working on jobs with David. David will act as general but they will do a lot of the work themselves and what they can’t they have good contacts for whatever else they need. I love the floorplan I worked on. The home is moderate size but wonderfully arrange.

In the meantime we will be putting in a new driveway and putting on a new roof. After all this maybe we can think about really being retired. LOLOLOL We have different opinions on what exactly that means.

    1. HI Barbara,
I suppose SS got the picture because I got a notice of “rejected attachment!”

Yes, the comment leaving is kind of a touchy thing… you never know if the person is in the hospital or just sick, or like me, having computer troubles and there is no way to respond… I liked the olden days when everything was done the “old school way!” Sounds like you’ve have some experience in the comment department… :o(

It does seem like the RRFF dolls come out VERY quickly, and I’m like you, I can’t have them all, so I just enjoy what everyone else gets…

It’s always “something” we need for our dolls, isn’t it… if it’s not wigs or shoes, now it’s chairs and musical instruments! :o)

Oh, I’d love to have one of those floor plan software programs… I always loved drawing house floor plans when I was younger… I hope you get your plans finalized and things going… sounds fun to me… I’d help, but I’ve got a floor to tackle very soon… I can’t believe my hubby hasn’t said, “let’s go” on it already… he must be giving me a break to make a few doll dresses… we’ll see…

      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Lovely pictures today, Susette and Linda I love the way you both arrange your dolls they look so good sitting there listening. And the bridesmaids are so gorgeous in their lovely pastel dresses. So well behaved.

Kathie I had problems yesterday with my internet. My own fault, On Monday I put my oven and my heater on in the workroom (which really needs a new cable to the street) and blew all the circuit breakers in the house and the garage. Got everything working again except the router. Sam tried on Monday night and it seemed to be working but when I checked on Tuesday morning I managed to open one email then nothing. It kept telling me I had no internet connections. I talked to Darren and he suggested I turned everything off which I did. The booster came back on but not the internet. Because of the problems yesterday with Facebook etc my provider was swamped with calls and I couldn’t get through to them so had to wait till the afternoon to ring when Sam was there. She got through straight away, did what they said and hey presto internet again. And Kathie you are right it is sad how reliant we are on it. but I was completely lost. I use my computer for all my important emails (never lost the internet on the phone) and they were there taunting me but I couldn’t open them! Thank goodness it is all fixed now.

Sylvia I loved your picture of the New England trees. Similar to Otago here especially Arrowtown, just outside Queenstown, Their trees tend to be golden (not as much red though) but here they tend to just turn brown. Not at the moment though. Lots of spring blossom and just starting to turn green.

Jeanne I am sorry about your Etsy problems hope they get resolved soon. It is easy to miss something when you have so much on your mind as you have lately.
Your story of the baby doll picture is so funny. I had a similar experience. I was asked to do a ‘birthday’ cake for Delta and we have a special picture for the Delta Creed since many of the clients don’t understand words well. I decided to get an edible photo done of the creed for the top of the cake. I took the photo and sent it off to be printed. Got the photo back a day or so before I needed it, opened it up and was completely flummoxed. It was a picture Sam had taken of Jonathan’s wide open mouth showing where he had lost his first tooth!! Probably the most horrible photo in my album from a visible point of view! Somehow I had clicked on that one instead of the one of the Creed. Too late to get another one (the postage had cost nearly as much as the photo as well) so I had to make an icing plaque and print the picture on to wafer paper with inedible ink and tell them to take it off before they cut it!

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

Can’t imagine what the person on the other end thought when they saw the lost tooth picture! You and Jeanne sure gave me a lot to laugh at today.

    2. HI Anne,
It IS a bit sad how much we rely on our technology, isn’t it! I hope everything is working as it should now… when you don’t have it, you REALLY seem to miss it the most! :o)
Our trees around here are just beginning to see the lighter shades of leaves changing colors. In a few weeks we’ll be seeing all those beautiful colors too.

Oh, Anne, your flub up picture story is so funny too… it seems we all must have one in the archives somewhere. I just can’t get over how we end up sending off the most awful or silliest pictures in our stashes…
      Thanks Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Sally from Colorado

Dear Jeanne and entire gang of “sisters”,

Jeanne, you DID have a very bad day. At least you were able to laugh about the baby doll picture and I hope your long talk with Rebecca was a bright spot. I hope things are straightened around today for you and that you’re enjoying a much, much better day. We all applaud how you keep the blog going even on your worst days or when you are over your head in a project. Thank you so much.

So good to see the picture of the foliage at the Balsam’s, Sylvia. Thank you. I looked the place up and although it had been closed for several years, it looks like Hampshire House is now being sold as time shares, and they have made improvements to the golf course, ski areas, etc. As long as it gets used and isn’t allowed to rot away. Magnificent place and setting.

Joy, your dolls are so great. Very happy to have had an Elinda land here, and I must say, Freya has really grown on me. To all of you who also got these dolls, congratulations. These dolls are just happy, happy kids.

Linda, thanks for sharing your girls in their finery, including the gloves. Oh, my! Also good to hear the knee is making progress. About three weeks now?

Well, Susette. This scene is surely the oyster’s ice skates. Oh, what FUN! How happy I am for you that you can set up these little scenes. Absolutely wonderful. It gave me great delight to see how well these RRFFs do with the AG furniture. Maybe I will hold on to my Felicity chairs and all the wonderful little accessories from the old girls. You have inspired me, but boy, this was outstanding. Thanks so much to all of you and Jeanne for sending pics.

Finally, thanks so much to all of you with your ideas to help me unload a lot of AG stuff yesterday. You have all been “swell”!

    Hugs,
    Sally

    1. HI Sally,
Well, the Etsy problem is still unsolved, but life goes on and so must I. I still haven’t heard from the buyer of the doll slip, so I’m guessing my messages aren’t going through to her or she isn’t checking her Etsy messages because she hasn’t ordered anything else… I just hope she seems them soon so I can at least get her stuff to her…

Congrats on getting your very own Elinda, Sally… dare I say, there will be more too?

I hope you are feeling better about how to reduce your dolls somehow… I know it can be overwhelming, but like Debbie said, starting is the hardest part… I’ve got lots of stuff I’m wanting to sell, and I am dragging my feet on it too…

Thanks Sally, Glad you enjoyed the pictures today…
      Blessings,Jeanne

  10. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I enjoyed seeing all of the dolly photos today. My goodness these children are so talented and so photogenic!

I laughed so hard when I saw your “submission” to the Social Security people. You may receive benefits but your husband is probably going to have to wait at least 65 years, judging from the age he appears to be in the photo (chuckle).

I am sorry about the etsy snafu. I hope you get it worked out soon. I generally call etsy or ebay if I have a question. I have never been a seller, though, so I don’t know how that works.

    1. HI Dorothy,
I’m glad you got a good laugh out of the baby picture I sent… I just wonder if the person sitting in some cubicle shared it with co-workers (if there is even anyone working in an office now) and if they all had a good laugh…

There is ONLY a phone number for BUYERS… not SELLERS. Isn’t that the strangest thing ever. I have tried about 15 different ways of trying to contact someone and struck out every single time… there HAS to be someway of getting my problem in the hands of someone who is a real person…

      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne
