…and she still remembers how to sew…

As you can see…it’s my 14″ Ruby Red Fashion Friend dolls who get the 3 dresses. I was going to keep it a secret a little while longer and surprise you, but decided you were going go find out anyway, so why wait…

I got a nice start on Sarah and Rozen’s dresses, but Stella isn’t very happy at me for not getting her dress done as much as theirs… oh well…

I’m sorry I didn’t get to your comments today…I was going to do them after I got back from working at the Food Pantry, but when I checked, there were 27. I read them but was in a sewing mood…so you see what won out!! :o)

Have a wonderful weekend!
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, your triplets look very happy to be the subjects of your new sewing project. I can’t wait to see which direction you take with the dresses.

Can you believe it’s already October?

Oh cute! The Ruby Reds look so happy. 🙂 Can’t wait to see the embellishments. 🙂
I started a silly dress for them for Thanksgiving, yesterday, but after a cursory search, could not find any matching fabric around here. Crazy, I know. So, looks like I will have to take a trip to Joann’s. 🙂 Maybe today. 🙂
Crazy house alarm over two hills away has kept neighbors awake all night. Fortunately for us, we couldn’t hear it with windows closed. Since it is a private alarm, the police said, as reported by one of many on Nextdoor, that they could not go inside. The owner can’t be reached. Still going this morning. Maybe they need to get a search warrant to go in and turn it off and restore sanity to the neighbors. Such is life.

That alarm would drive me crazy so you have my sympathy. I had a neighbor once when I lived in an apartment whose car alarm would go off in the middle of the night. It did not automatically turn off. I think he was the only one who could sleep through it and he was the one who needed to check it out and turn it off.

Also I live near a railroad crossing and sometimes the cross arms get stuck and the bells keep ringing. I don’t notice it if the windows are closed but if they’re not it can be very annoying. As for your neighbor though, it sounds like a welfare check may be in order. For many reasons, including why is the alarm going off? Was there an intruder and someone inside is hurt? Just a thought. I know when my choir director’s liver was failing and he didn’t show up for church I suggested a welfare check. It turned out to have saved his life. He was near death and was dispatched to the hospital immediately and put on the list for a liver transplant. He is fine now but the doctors said one more day and he would have been dead. He thought he had the flu so he was just going to lay around till he got better.

Entering is up to the police, and they checked the home out, but wouldn’t go in and turn it off nor would the alarm company. Insane! Finally went off this morning around 8:00AM. Good thing it was over the hill from us. I must have talked to at least 5 people on our walk today, and they all heard it. 🙁

I think you chose the right fabric for each on your girls. They’ll look so cute together. I do hope no snow flies before the completed outfits are ready. The trees are still so full and green.
Thinking about it, these dresses might very well work for Thanksgiving. There really is time for that and maybe one AG Thanksgiving outfit, maybe for Addy, who always seems thankful.

  4. Kathie from Omaha

Each one looks pretty in the fabric you chose. They will be an awesome trio. Keep the pedal to the metal and they will be done in no time!

Oh this is going to be fun! I love the fabrics and the start of the dresses but especially who they are for. I don’t know what it is but sewing for the RRFF is so satisfying. They always look great in their clothes. Right now I’m working on a couple straight skirts and long-sleeved blouses for two of mine, probably Stella and Anaelle. Bella and Sara are wearing their favorite rompers and they say they don’t want to change just yet. I see where Maya is expected to show up in late October or November. I think she’s called Seaside Maya and her outfit is so cute she’ll want to wear it for awhile I’m sure.

Jeanne, I certainly was surprised to see that the dresses are for your RRFF girls! I can see that it goes faster for them, and they each do a wonderful job of showing off whatever it is you make. Now the question is, will they be wearing identically designed dresses, or 3 different ones altogether? I kind of feel that the basic dresses will be the same but there will be something different on each dress. You always knock it out of the box when it comes to finishing details, and I feel that this will be the case here too!

  7. Oh, yes, I should have guessed the Ruby Reds and not the Little Darlings. The RRFF are the up and coming and for once I am with the latest trend having one also. As far as the PC/AG girls, I am where I have been from day one, collecting the retire items that have come before. Almost there…. only one to go.
The fabrics are all very nice and I can’t wait to see what you put together. So great that you’re starting on Christmas now, so a lot of dolls will have a chance at one. We certainly need plenty of cheer this year.

Thank the heavens above that “she still remembers how to sew”! I love the progress as much as the end result. Looking forward to both: )

  9. Jeanne, It like riding a bike, never forget! Thank Goodness! They are going to be real cute. I like the holly print. I do remember you using it before. Have a good Sunday!

  10. Charlotte Trayer

I KNOW I posted last night, but it seems to have disappeared! Arggh…

Anyway, I had guessed Rozen for the print on the right, so I guess I get half a point, anyway?!

Speaking of which…it’ entirely possible that dolly fever is about to strike again…Stay tuned!
