A few American Girl doll dresses from YEARS ago…

Neither person I wanted to see and talk to about the comments having to be approved was at church this morning, so I’m having to still approve your comments… Please hang in there and I’ll get this fixed soon…

I thought you might like to see someone’s collection of my doll dresses for her dolls. Sally graciously sent me a few pictures of some of her American Girl dolls dressed in past dresses I have made. I had a very busy weekend and decided to use these pictures now instead of later. I am adding a few pictures of mine when I listed them to show you some closer details of Sally’s dresses.

If you click on any of the pictures they will enlarge.

This is Josefina’s dress…from 2015.

This was a favorite of mine for Kirsten… I made it in October, 2019.

Samantha modeled this dress when I listed it on Ebay…

Oh, and I sent her purse a little while after the dress was made…

Here are 3 Civil War dresses Sally bought from me…

I always referred to this as the “Acorn Dress.”

Cecile modeled this next bluish/lavender dress for me…

I never could find a picture of the bonnet that went with this dress…I’m wondering if it was sent later too…

Next up is Addy in her famous yellow and black dress… an early edition and one of my ALL TIME favorites… I think Sally begged me to make this one as I had made another one but didn’t have enough fabric for two. I searched and searched and finally found the fabric to make her one… Is that right Sally? This was made in March 2013.

I’ve decided to break up this post into two, so if you want to see the rest of the dresses, please come back tomorrow…
Thanks Sally! THEN and NOW!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What is going on? This way to leave a reply is all different than the usual one, but here i go! I wonder if Charlotte wrote, but as of the moment, I am the only one and first to reply!

Well, Sally certainly hit it out of the box when she bought all those amazing dresses! It would be nice just to have one!

I remember all except maybe one or two, and can’t really say which one is my favorite, because they all are so diverse and go with such different dolls. Do I see Caroline wearing Kirsten’s dress, Sally? You don’t have Kirsten? I do recognize all the dolls, except two from the last picture. The doll on the left looks like Josefina but that’s not her hair, and the one next to her might be a JLY doll?

You must be beaming with pride, Jeanne, to be able to look back and see all the wonderful dresses you have made! It certainly takes effort plus time, and plenty of know how to make those creations come to life!

Thank you Sally for sharing the love!

Well, I was going to say that I hadn’t notice anything different in making my comments, and tonight, the “leave a reply” part is different! In fact, now it looks like I am a first-time viewer of your blog, asking for my email as well as name, plus boxes to check to save my name, etc., notify me of new comments, and notify me of new posts!!

Thank you, Sally, for sharing the pictures of the dresses you’ve gotten from Jeanne. So many pretty ones! My favorites, I think, are the one she showed on Molly (the maroon check), and that pretty yellow and black one she showed on Addy! I think I remember most of them, except possibly Molly’s. Jeanne, do you remember what year you made that one?

Well, I got Maya into her new dress today, and she said it is just her Perfect shade of pink, and now would like to have shoes to match!! Guess I’d better get busy and find some for her!! Hopefully I’ll get pictures tomorrow, although I do have a doctor’s appt. (that darned UTI might still be hanging around), so we’ll see.

Jeanne, I missed all of these so am very happy to see photos of these delightful dresses. Lucky Sally to have such an array! Your latest creations for the American Girls have me back on the secondary market to refresh my collection. I am a little fixated on Kirsten. She is taking up a lot of real estate in my guest/doll room ( a reference to Saturday’s post). Now I want to see and dress some other Girls. Looking forward to the next set of photos and future outfits.
Sally, Do you have historical settings for all of the dolls like the one Molly is photographed in? It just enhances the doll and her outfit when she is surrounded by her artifacts. Thinking back to your suggestion to view those props! I noticed Addy’s table on ebay this weekend, it is an exact replica of the one in my kitchen that we inherited from my husband’s grandmother. She commissioned it from a craftsman in Louisiana in the early 1900’s. It was not a style that was familiar to me from my childhood in Amish country, PA. Thank you for sharing your collection and Jeanne’s past creations with us!

Loved seeing Sally’s girls in their Jeanne Marie finery. I especially like how the photos have some elevation of the dolls which really adds to the sweet photos. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the acorn dress. Love it, although, all of the girls look exceptional in their frocks. The AG girls here are very jealous. šŸ™‚
Interesting, as I think even the reply font has now been changed. Harder to read for me. I really wonder why all of the changes. Sorry to hear that WordPress has no one to talk with directly. What about an email? or perhaps you can talk to another blog friend and see if they too have had problems with WP? I’m still suspecting that it was an update problem. Interesting that new changes seem to crop up everyday. I wonder if going back to prior settings might fix it? And does this happen on all devices or just the phone?
Hope I can figure out how to post. šŸ™‚

See below for my comment about the water leak. Good luck with getting it taken care of soon.

Good morningā€¦Jeanne, I am sorry your website magicians were not available, but we all realize you are struggling to do your very best and we sure appreciate it and know you will prevail.

You are right on just about everything. That bonnet for the blue/purple was a ā€œbegā€ from me.The yellow Addy was a beg, and yes, you searched like crazy to finally find the same fabric as the original. I got my Addy out of storage to put this on her for the pics. She is such a nice, PC gal and I have NO idea why I put her away.

Yup, I begged for a purse for the dress you had Sam model and I have on Rebecca. I also begged for a red necklace to match that you canā€™t see because the AG doll stand is hiking the dress up.

Jeanne, I hope you realize how very grateful I am to you for these exquisite outfits and for all your efforts to accommodate my extra requests. Thank you for sharing them, and the next ones are the regencies and colonials. Oh, my. It was especially nice that you were able to show your original pics with all the fantastic details. I love that Molly set so much. Lindsay is wearing it because my Molly still has her original red ribbons on her braids so I made sure she always wears a coordinating red outfit. My Sam is in an MHD outfit that I am reluctant remove.

Debbie, I did see your note that you ordered your LD from Magalie. That woman is very special to me. While she is French, she has lived a long time in Poultney, VT, and I grew up in Dorset. She is absolutely a dear to work with. You will love your little miss!

Linda, yes, Caroline is wearing that peach of a set from Jeanne. Yes, I have two Kirsten dolls, one is in storage, and the other is wearing, permanently, an extraordinary bunad outfit I commissioned many years ago for her. She has her little Dala Floda horse with her and her rag doll. And yes, the doll in the Acorn Dress is a Josefina that I bought with the wig replaced with this one. The next doll is a JLY or whatever the doll was called at the time.

Again, Jeanne, it was so dear of you to share these, and for sharing your incredible talent with us all every day, May your troubles soon be over, my dear.

    Have a great one, ladies.

    Sally

  6. I remember most of Sallyā€™s dressesšŸ˜‰ They are a wonderful selection. I canā€™t even begin to pick a favorite! The first one , the burgundy check/plaid is awfully special though.
Iā€™m sure you love to dress your dolls when they have such awesome dresses to wearšŸ¤—
Off to weed todayā€¦something is getting my zuchiniā€¦so better pick whatever is readyšŸ™
On my Garden blog a lady hangs red Christmas ornaments on her tomato plants . The reason is to attract the birds early ā€¦they try to eat the plastic ornaments only to find out they are not goodā€¦..soā€¦.when the real tomatoes are ripe they leave them alone! Genius!
We wrapped the blueberry bushes in green tulle and the birds leave them alone too. They are about finished so the tulle will come off and the birds can have the restā˜ŗļø
    Enjoy your day!

    1. Great idea about the tomatoes, we will have to try that as we have had deer eating the tops off of our plants. My husband did put up some white poles that are for an electric fence but he didnā€™t put the wire around and I think he fooled them as I think they have been staying out of the garden.

Beautiful dresses and beautiful dolls! Thanks for sharing, Sally and Jeanne! Marion really likes Addy’s hat and Samantha’s red purse šŸ™‚

Great share of the dresses, both Sallyā€™s and Jeanneā€™s. For Joy: The water leaking from behind a retaining wall is a very serious issue. Itā€™s eroding the soil behind the wall and could eventually cause the wall to fail, usually when it starts to rain again. The owner will be at fault for insurance purposes but might be interested in fixing the leak before it causes damage to your property. My sister had experience with this in Southern California.

Thanks so much Susette. Not so sure if it would be the neighbor who has to pay for it though. There is the up hill/down hill thing. Not sure who is responsible as it has been leaning a long time. The water though is her problem. We will talk with her again when she gets back from vacation. Thanks! šŸ™‚

  9. Wow, Sally, what a gorgeous number of dresses. The only ones I recognize is the one you have on Caroline and Josefina’s. I didn’t join the doll boards until 2014 and found Jeanne from there shortly after.
Love, love your Civil War trio. Three of my dolls “live” in Antebellum/Civil War as well. The fashions were stunning. The Acorn dress and Addy’s yellow dress are my favorites. Jeanne, you must have a the time sewing on all those little black buttons, even on her pantalettes.
I’d love to see you Kirsten in her bunad outfit. I grew up wearing many a German dirndl dress my great-aunt would send to me.
Also please, please share Sam in Magalie’s creation. She was sharing something the week I joined the doll board and I couldn’t believe that outfit of Silk Dupioni.
Can’t wait to see the rest of Jeanne’s treasures tomorrow.

Yes, the way to leave comments is like I’ve never commented before, but once I put in my email my quilt square came up to replace the generic one.
