“Farmer’s Market” is now listed on Ebay… calling ALL Ruby Red Fashion Friends…

I managed to find a little “me” time today and got Stella’s pictures taken and actually listed on Ebay. It’s such a cute little set… I don’t usually say that… but this one was F-U-N to make! I really enjoyed making it and figuring out the last couple of pieces… If you want to see it you can click on the picture at the right side bar…or click HERE.

Okay, so I’ll tell you what I did today…

I braided Stella’s hair… it’s actually very stick straight, so it was a little challenging to French braid it, but I like the way the braids came out… Then I tied a couple of ribbons on the ends… the ribbons will be included too…

Then we had a short photo session and Stella was quite photogenic again today. She hopped on that green bench of mine and really showed off her fun personality.

I would have liked some outside photos but my time was limited and I just needed to get some varied shots of her in different combinations of the pieces.

I did discover today if you take just a tiny rolled up piece of tape or even a ZOT for sticking down photos, and place it on your dolls heel or on the back of the shoe sole, your dolls foot will stick to it and the flip flops won’t FLOP! :o) It worked wonderfully! The sole of the shoe is leather and her foot is vinyl, so the tape doesn’t hurt either one…

I also moved over the snap on the waistband of the skirt so now it fits and looks better when the peasant top is worn with it. I forgot to include a picture of that in my Ebay listing though…

Here are a couple of new pictures for you, and then you can go look at the listing…

I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Stella’s outfit is just perfect, and I see you already have one bid!! This one is a winner, for sure!

    1. Hi Charlotte
Yes, 4 bidders! This looks promising! :o)
      Thank you Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Susette from Southern California

Again, what a darling outfit and the accessories are so cute. Thanks for letting us know it’s listed. Glad you had some time today for doing your favorite creative things.

    1. Hi Susette,
Thank you! I missed being creative and glad I found time to get it listed!! I think Stella is just the sweetest thing!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    Good morning!
What a lot of excellent pictures! I love the braids. That was a big surprise, and what a clever idea about the tape on the foot. I can see Miss Stella sitting on that bench with zero space between the shoe and foot. Bidding is already intensifying so it should be very exciting. Yay! Have a great one. 🥰

    1. Hi Sally,
I love her in the braids too! She is so adorable! I think I may be in trouble if they keep producing such cute dolls…I know I really only need ONE for the sizing, but who can stop at just one?
      Thanks Sally,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Debbie from Tennessee

Hi Sally, I just read your response to my reply, to your entry, on the “love dolls” thread. I have read this thread over several days to make sure I did not miss anyone’s entries. It has been such a comfort to be in the company of other doll lovers. I do not belong to any doll clubs because I don’t think there are many collector’s in East Tennessee. Jeanne’s blog has helped ease that “aloneness”. To answer your question, I retired from teaching 10 years ago when my husband’s job brought us to Tennessee. After my children both married and there were no more weddings to plan (or pay for!) I started thinking about how much i enjoyed collecting beautiful dolls. I started on a search for the perfect Pleasant Company Felicity, the doll I would have bought myself if I had not been raising my children. Seven Felicity’s later I finally found her! First year, 1991, Felicity in the maroon box. Then I collected the remaining Pleasant Company dolls. Jeanne had an entry on Kirsten one day and I loved it so much I bookmarked it but did not join. I would check her blog from time to time to see what was new. One day I looked and there was RRFF Rozen in one of Jeanne’s beautiful creations. All of Jeanne’s outfits are amazing but this doll captured my imagination. I still love my Pleasant Company and a few Madame Alexanders but the Ruby Red’s have stolen my heart and my credit card lately. The other thing we have in common is: I don’t sew! I did sew when my daughter was young, mostly costumes for plays and storybook day. Like you, I admire a well crafted doll ensemble and love to see my dolls in them. Jeanne’s blog is the perfect place to share this love!

      1. Thank you for your very kind comments, Debbie!
I’m so glad to have you here!
        Blessings, Jeanne

          Jeanne,
Thank you! Glad to be here. You truly are a blessing.
          Debbie

      2. Sally from Colorado

        Dear Debbie,
Thanks so much for your lovely reply. I certainly have enjoyed reading it twice. Congratulations on finding you perfect Felicity (I hope you have something Jeanne made for her….Jeanne’s colonials are fabulous, like everything she makes, however.)
Yes, Rozen got us both started in these RRFF dolls. Like yours, my cc is getting a good airing out on these dolls. We both have a lot to thank Jeanne for, actually.
Here’s to many more years of doll fun, Debbie!

        1. Debbie from Tennessee

          Dear Sally,
My trial and error and patience did finally pay off when I found Felicity. Of course I had to sell or donate the first 6 trials along the way! Many of us could probably write a book on buying dolls on the secondary market. I am late to Jeanne’s creations so I have only one but I treasure it more than any other doll outfit I own. Thanks to Jeanne, to you Sally, and to all the ladies who contribute to this blog. Wishing you many more years of doll fun too!

  4. Joy in northern CA

Glad you were able to get the outfit listed because it is a perfect match for the end of the school year and the beginning of summer vacation as well. All dollies want something special to wear for the relaxing days ahead. 🙂
I’m still working on that dress for Daisy. It needs something else to finish it off, and I’ve been stuck, so I started on a shirt for Luca. And I’m not even sure if it will fit. I’m a horrible pattern adjuster. Does anyone know if Wellie Wishers are even close in size to RRFF dolls? Grand has one, I don’t, and we won’t be seeing them again for awhile so I can’t compare them.
The bids are flying in for Stella’s outfit. Yay!

    1. Hi Joy,
I hope your keeping a close eye on Luca during Stella’s auction. He may have it in his head that SHE comes with the outfit and hit the bid button. LOL

      1. Ha ha, I hadn’t thought of that, Laura. Definitely need an activity to keep Luca busy during that time. 🙂

        1. Thanks, Joy and Barbara,
I actually thought of that when Luca was picking roses, but had to wait until Jeanne listed the outfit to post it.
You’re lucky, Barbara, that you don’t have any boy dolls with crushes to worry about

    2. Thanks Joy,
It seemed to take me a while to get it finished, but I guess I just had too many other irons in the fire…thanks for your sweet compliments…

Send me a picture of Daisy’s dress and let me take a look…

I have some patterns I drafted for the Wellie Wishers but don’t remember the fit of them yet…I’ll have to take a look at them and let you know…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Stella’s outfit is absolutely adorable. There are so many pieces to this outfit and that makes it fun. Good idea about the tape for her heel and the flip flops. I also love the way you braided her hair. She looks so sweet and ready for summer. Dressed as she is, it takes me back to the years at the end of a school year where the students marched over to the town’s park, giving a concert for the parents and then playing games and eating all sorts of picnic goodies.

    1. Thank you Paula,
I’m glad you enjoy seeing the Ruby Red dolls even though you don’t have any…
I guess when it comes time for Stella’s parent’s party, she can whip on her skirt over the romper and be sort of dressed up!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Kathie from Eastern NE

That ensemble is outstanding…and so are the pictures! Love the braided hair and she is so realistic on that green bench. You had to be so pleased with those pictures☺️ I didn’t mention how much I liked the hat… how you always have the right color flowers boggles my mind.
Have to get busy… we have had so many new neighbors in the last year so having a neighborhood gathering on the patio. Must print the invites. You all want to come too?😉🤔

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Kathie, I am sure we would all like to visit you and meet your neighbors. I’ll get a cake (from a bakery – said the non-cook) How big is your sofa (laugh)?

    2. Thank you Kathie,
You make me blush with all your kind compliments on Stella’s set. They really are fun to sew for…
I would come if I could…it sounds like a fun time for the neighborhood!!! :o)
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Barbara in SE Texas

Oh, I love the braids!!! Now my Stella is going to want some too but they probably won’t be French braids. I never did master that, and when my daughter needed them for dance competition she went to the neighborhood salon to have it done.

This is a wonderful outfit with so many combinations, and, as you said, would allow for dressing more than one doll. It’s like the outfit you made awhile back for the LDs that I have. I actually dress four or five dolls with pieces of it. Stella looks wonderful in all her poses.

    1. Thanks Barbara,
Stella does look pretty cute in those braids, doesn’t she?
Regular braids will work just fine… I almost wish her hair had just a tiny bit of body to it…it would make hairdo’s a lot easier to manage…
I’m glad you are still enjoying your mix and match set… I hope the new winner will enjoy the set as much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Marilyn from Colorado

You’ve gone from 4 bidders. I always think the number of bidders is important — the more competition, the more likely you are to get the price the outfit deserves. And this is only day one. This may be fun to watch.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I am thrilled at how everyone seems to like this set… there are 4 bidders, 41 watchers and 377 hits….and it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet!
Seems like Stella is a keeper!!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, she is adorable. I like how you have posed her.

What will you work on next? Hmmmm. I am guessing something for the Bonekas.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
I haven’t even thought about who will be next… you want something for the Boneka’s???
      Maybe I can do that!!!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Your selection of props is outstanding! The romper and bench coordinate beautifully.

  11. Laura in Ohio

Stella’s outfit is just darling. So many fun pieces to mix and match. I, too, am amazed that you always seem to have the right flowers/ trims and now even a bench in the proper color. You have a great selection of props.
Her hair looks so sweet in French braids. That is one of my favorite little girl styles. I’ve done it on my dolls a few times as well. Her hat and flip flops are very sweet.

    1. Thank you so much Laura,
I know your heart is for the AG dolls, but you still take time to compliment me on whichever doll is modeling…thank you for your kind words…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Debbie from Tennessee

This outfit is the perfect look for Stella! Her sweet smile just says “have fun”! I am glad you made the change from the tee to the dotted swiss blouse. It is a great compliment to the vintage looking floral print of the romper and the skirt. Great work on that hat and flip flops! Good Luck with the auction!
    Debbie

    1. Thank you Debbie,
It was so much fun to make this outfit and there was no end to the pieces I could have still made…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  13. Anne Coldron in New Zealand

    Hi all,
Barbara, I never mastered French braids either. Sam can do it but her girls would never let her near their hair much to her disappointment.
Stella looks fabulous in her outfit. When I checked this morning you had 9 bids. I foresee a real bidding war coming.
I spent yesterday trying to deal with a crisis. I sent for my credit check account and discovered that my foster daughter has used my ID to attempt to get credit. She was declined a couple of times but has managed to run up one bill of $1200, I suspect she bought a laptop. This was only one credit check company, there are three here so I still have to get the paperwork from the other two, I think Sam has applied for that. Silly woman used two recognisable addresses where she had lived but said they were in Australia! I suspect that was why two of her applications were declined as it wasn’t my credit rating according to the report. I have reported it to the police so she will find herself in trouble, she is already in enough so this could put her in jail. If she had gone to drama school instead of turning to crime she would have been famous by now, she is that good. I have no doubt next time I see her (she has no idea that I know what she has done or that I have gone to the police) she will still be as horrified as ever. ‘I would never do anything like that to you, Mum’! Unfortunately I have had to realise that everyone else was right and the person I love and have tried to support actually is a figment of her imagination. Can’t do it any more. Feel really stupid to have been taken in all this time. I think maybe I had a nudge about checking my credit, I have never done that before and it was only because of an anomaly on the mobile phone account that I did so and that issue turned out to be not a problem.
Sam has been fantastic, I couldn’t have managed without her. We are going out together today to celebrate her 50th birthday and to get some fabric for her quilt that she is making for Ashley, a hand pieced hexagon quilt. She picked up some hexie flowers off the free table at Guild and had started to make a table runner, then I found some I had started with a pattern I had quite liked and it went from there. She raided my scrap box (which doesn’t seem to have gone down at all, I swear scraps breed in the box) and has now finished all the flowers. The next row is blue for sky and she will need more than scraps for that so we are going to look for some fabric today then they all get joined with green.
    Have a great day everyone

    1. Sally from Colorado

      Dear Anne,
I am so terribly sorry you have had to go through something like this. Just heartbreaking. I think all of us will be keeping you in our prayers, but I commend you for turning the situation over to the police. Such a hard thing to do, but the right one for her. Oh, I just can’t say how sorry I am.
However, thank goodness for Sam and a project involving fabric. That was good news for a very bad day.
      Sending you a big hug.
      Sally

    2. Barbara in SE Texas

I have a stepson who has caused a great deal of grief for us over the years so you definitely have my sympathy and empathy. We got custody of him when he was seven and I could write a book on all we went through over the years. It wouldn’t be a fun write or a fun read so I’d rather not. Hopefully all this will work out for you. Prayers that it will.

I was wondering why my scrap basket never seemed to go down. Now I know there’s things going on behind the scenes. Is there such a thing as birth control for fabric. Maybe I just need to spend more time in my sewing room keeping an eye on things.

    3. Hi Anne,
Thank you for your kind comments on Stella’s outfit…everyone seems to like it…
I am so sorry you are having to go through all this grief over the credit card…and knowing who did it…how awful for you…
I hope the fun of making the quilt with Sam will bring a little happiness and joy back to your heart…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    4. Laura in Ohio

      Dear Anne,
So very sorry that this has happened to you and to know who did it makes is even more difficult. I pray you can fix your credit. Sounds like a fun project Sam is doing. I hope you’ll share a photo when it’s finished. Happy birthday to Sam from one may baby to another. My birthday was Sunday. I hope you and Sam have a lovely time together.

      1. HI Laura,
Happy belated birthday from me too… I too, hope you had a nice day… I think you might be the “baby” in our group…
        Blessings, Jeanne

    5. Joy in northern CA

Very sorry to hear of your troubles. Really hope you can get it all figured out and under control. A friend had her identity stolen. It took months/years to get it all straightened out, but nothing like yours from a person you trusted. So sorry.
