She said they were in dresses by Nur of MyLovelyDresses. They are truly lovely looking!

If you click on the pictures, they will enlarge… You’ll WANT to do this… as the details are fabulous! Thank you again, Sally! You saved me!!! :o) Maybe Sally will tell us these girls names… and maybe more… :o)

Well, I should be good to go tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Indeed, click on the pictures! The detail is amazing! That first picture…has smocked FLAMINGOES!! That tiny!! I’ve done lots of smocked dresses for LDs, but not picture smocking, and certainly nothing like that!! Also the shoes on the little blond in that same picture look like they are crocheted…with a very small hook! Are they? Just curious.

And then the second picture…well, of course my eye is drawn to the smocked dresses immediately. The one with the smocked bunnies is so sweet, but I think my favorite one is the pink one on the end–looks like she is holding her matching embroidered sweater?

Oh, yes, Sally, please do tell us their names! And thank you so much for sharing the rest of your girls with us!

Jeanne–you go do what you need to do; we’ll see you tomorrow!

    1. Hi, Charlotte,
So pleased you have enjoyed these. Nur is so talented and very sweet. She sells a lot of patterns in her Etsy shop.
In the lower picture, the two dresses on the ends are both bunny dresses. What is not shown on the blue one on the left is that Nur embroidered an even smaller bunny on each leg of the pantalettes!
Why do I have two bunny dresses from her, you might ask. Her first one listed was gone before I saw it, and then she did a second one which I snapped up. Then I waited, and waited, and waited, and it seemed like it was a “lost in transit” victim. So I asked if she could make another which she did, and because she felt so badly that I didn’t have the first one, she knit the white sweater to go with the pink dress which has a bunny embroidered on the sweater. Both dresses arrived within days of each other, go figure, and of course, Nur was paid for both.
Aren’t those flamingos the cutest and the fabric? Oh, boy! Well, I have other Nur creations with cherries embroidered, sailboats, cupcakes, an Easter basket, and lots of roses and pearls.
      Dol names and painters:
Top photo, L to R: Marissa and Yiyan, both by Nellie, Lizzie by Magalie, and Billie by Geri (which is her “Belinda” in her Studio site.
Bottom photo, L to R: Maggie and Sara by Magalie, Lavinia (after my beloved, favorite great aunt) by Lana, and Mira by Magalie. 🥰

  2. What an amazing line up of pretty maids all in a row today, Jeanne! How lucky it would be to be one of Sally’s dolls! I can’t get over how each doll looks perfectly dressed!! Sally, how do you figure out who wears what, or is it just random? I love the way you placed the first doll on in the second picture, with her hand in her pocket! So cute!

I see that you.have a variety of lengths of the dresses, with the more old fashioned tea length, to the shorter, more modern look. Where do you find most of your dresses, Etsy? I remember you saying that you store all the clothes together with accessories in zip lock bags, and they must keep things in perfect shape! Ironing such tiny clothes with all those details can’t be easy!

Thank you once again, Sally, for showing us some of your fabulous collection, and Jeanne too!

    1. Hi, Linda D. I know! My dolls dress a lot better than their mom, hands down. They are not allowed to argue over who gets dressed in what, although they may pout. Pouting is quieter, yes?
When I dress them, I do look at the hair. While I have far too many wigs , they have become more of a challenge to put on, with or without the silicone caps. Much gnashing of teeth which take s the fun out of this. I think about the current season, or I think about doing all or most of them in clothes by a single seamstress. There is a wee bit of “method to my madness”!
Keeping the clothes in ziplocs with some tissue strategically placed, helps eliminate the need for pressing. If I do any pressing, it is the ties before I put the outfit away for the next time.
Finally, I do my “shopping” on eBay and Etsy. Ann Van Doren is now selling her things I see on FB as she is tired of Etsy fees. She is the only one I watch on FB.
Thanks so much for your letter!
      Sally

  3. Sally, your dolls are gorgeous!

Linda D. It helps to have a tiny iron. I have one that quilters use. It looks a bit like a curling iron but the end has a metal triangle that heats. I love mine!

  4. Sally’s girls are a bunch of lucky duckies. Their outfits with the smocking details, wow. Love the dress with the bunnies. So sweet. My LD’s are a bit miffed after seeing the photos. They have been standing around in the same outfits for some time now. I’m sure I’ll be getting the silent treatment from them. Bad me.
Loved taking a look at Sally’s Pinterest collection too. Lots of fun stuff there.
I’m sure Jeanne has been enjoying her sister visit. Maybe they were able to catch a few antique/thrift stores. Always love seeing the finds. 🙂

    1. Hi, Joy,
You’re right; the smocking is the oyster’s ice skates for sure.
My LD’s are the dolls I change the most. 3 weeks ago I changed my AG dolls because I was getting a lot of attitude about still being in Christmas clothes. Now, after the fact, they are in Easter/spring and smiling once again. Whew! Doll “attitude “ can be brutal!
Your last comment about Jeanne being out with her sisters and hitting some antique/thrift stores made me giggle. Suppose J bought more laces?? I just love it.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.
      Sally

  5. More Little Darlings! What could be better than that, and so beautifully outfitted. I would love to know all the Little Darling’s names too.

I have not yet mastered the art of picture smocking so I can’t even imagine doing it on something so small. But seeing all this smocking on dolly dresses is giving me incentive to at least try some geometric smocking on doll dresses. I have several patterns for doing this but it takes time and I’m usually in a hurry to get an outfit finished for some occasion or other. But I think most of my dolly family is pretty well outfitted at the moment so maybe I’ll try doing some more intricate frocks in the future.

I could not access the blog for a couple days, I have no idea why, so I could not participate further in the conversation with Sally. It was a lot of fun and I hope she joins us more regularly. I can’t imagine having so many beautiful Little Darlings around the house. I am trying to get at least one of all the Sculpts. I have #1, #2 and #4. I have several RRFF and they’re #3, so I bypassed that one for the moment. It takes so long to get them and I’m no spring chicken and having no one to hand them down to… If I live to be 100 I’ll be kicking myself for not getting more I’m sure.

Hanna’s siblie Sydney is on the way shortly. I actually ordered Sydney before I had Hanna. Every time I went to order Hanna she was out of stock. I can’t wait to see them together. Hubby says oh no another mouth to feed. I say oh yay another doll to sew for.

I have three little irons. One like Julia mentioned and two that just look like a very small version of a regular iron. I also have a doll clothes size ironing board. All of them come in very handy not only when I’m sewing but when I’m dressing them all. Their clothes are stored in bins that are not all that big, especially when there are clothes for more than one doll in each, so the clothes get a little squished. I usually have to press some of their clothes before I can dress them.

Can’t wait till your return, Jeanne, to discover all the exciting things you and your sisters have been doing over the past few days.

      1. I can’t remember exactly where I bought mine, probably different places, but I just looked online at JoAnns and they have every one I have and some I wish I had.

        1. I was going to suggest the same one Ingrid found, so thank you, Ingrid.
Amazon also has mini irons, just smaller versions of the real thing. My grandmother had a sleeve ironing board, which I have found works perfectly for doll clothes or small craft projects. I’m also a stickler for ironed clothing.

        2. Wow, that’s an iron? It looks like something a dentist would use! No wonder I never knew anything about them! Would never recognize one if I saw it at JoAnn’s, but now I do! Thank you all for steering me to them!

    1. Hello, Barb,
Thank you for your kind comments and I do plan on joining these conversations more often. I sure have been missing out.
You’re getting some Siblies? Fun! I hope we can see some pictures of your little girls together.
I am sure you are aware of lots of different sources to get your RRFF dolls if ne or two places are sold out.
Waiting can be long for a LD, but right now, I think Geri is the shortest and her price is lower than Joyce and Magalie. If I get a 14th, it will be another from Geri and a #3.
      Currently I have 4 #1’s, 4#2’s, 3#3’s, and the 2 #4’s.
I’d love to hear which RRFF kids you have. They are just so pleasant in expression, aren’t they?
Looking forward to more chats in the future!
      Sally

      1. Sally, Jeanne posted some of my pictures a few blog days back from the Tea Party my dolls had, if you want to check out my dolly family. My RRFFs are Stella, Sara, Bella and Hanna. I tried every place I knew for a Hanna and they were all sold out. She evidently is the most popular of the dolls. She’s my hubby’s favorite. His other one is my H4H Lilian with her blonde hair and big, beautiful blue eyes. I showed her to him on eBay and he was smitten. My LD Claire was done by Geri and my other two, Fallon and Greer Adele, were done by Magalie. Geri’s site has been closed for orders every time I tried recently and I love getting them from Magalie because she always includes an adorable outfit.

Yes I am getting a Siblie. I could not resist Sydney in her sweet little dancing outfit.

        1. Barbara! I am so glad I saw this post before going to bed. Wow! You set up a huge project and did yourself and your kids really proud! This kind of stuff requires a lot of work, time, and patience, especially when, as you said, some of the kids don’t cooperate as expected. The end result though, is a real girl’s dream come true. Every girl is just beautiful and enjoying their party. Thank you for directing me to that blog, and all the comments and your narrative were truly marvelous.
Hmm. Last time I interacted with Geri must have been in the fall, and then I put off my order. That may have been a poor move on my part. Not that I NEED another LD! Ha! Magalie is a really fine lady and so easy to deal with. My last doll with Joyce took about five months which wasn’t bad.
So glad you had your MA Lissy. Mine has her head about ready to roll off so she is stored away as are so many of my dolls. Sad about that.
Well, time for bed, but that was a super trip to your party. Thank you!
          Sally

    2. Hi, Barb,
I replied to this but it is showing up further down the queue. Thanks so much. I have so enjoyed all of you.
      Sally

    1. Thank you, Karen. My pleasure, and the girls always love a little photo shoot. 😁
      Sally

  6. Wow…what a collection! Every part from shoes to smocking to hats are so freaky cute. I always go to the pink and the one in pic 2 to the right is my fav…with a matching sweater no less! I think I will go through my LD dresses to find some fun summer ones.
Looking forward to your latest ideas

    1. Thank you, Kathie. Yes, your kids will appreciate having a change of clothes. Have fun!
      Sally

  7. What lovely girls, Sally! All those sweet feminine dresses.
All of the dresses are beautiful. I really like the two pink outfits and the last fluffy white one in the first row. Also, the second one in the second row. The ecru color and design is so pretty. Thank you Sally for the pictures of your girls! I would also love to know their names.
    Jeanne, we’ll see you tomorrow.

    1. Thank you, Paula. If my kids have given many of you a smile, it sure makes my day.
I gave their names and artists in an earlier reply. I am trying to answer everyone between appointments today.
You’re a swell bunch of women and great fun. Have a dandy day!
      Sally

  8. Oh, Sally, your girls are just beautiful. i immediately saw the flamingoes, but the smocked bunny dresses are by far my favorites. The third dress and bonnet in the first photo and the second dress in the second photo are just darling. I haven’t made it to your Pinterest board, but I will.
I also saw that you commented that you have a large collection of AGs. That is my collection. Thank you again, Sally for sharing your sweet pictures.

    1. Hi, Laura.
For years I concentrated on the AG gals. I remodeled an old Nellie into a boy and bought a “boy” on eBay before I screwed up the courage to remove Nellie’s wig myself. My problem with that doll now is keeping the wig on especially if trying to put a cap on. Wigs are like computers; they’re great when they work, and not so when they don’t. Have you had this challenge? Do you sew doll clothes yourself? Do you have a favorite era for your AG dolls?
So glad you enjoyed my pictures and glad they helped Jeanne out a bit.
As for the bunny dresses, as I mentioned before, the blue dress set has an even tinier bunny embroidered on each leg of the pantalettes. A real feat and a real hoot.
I am looking forward to joining you ladies in the future. You are fun and you SO “get it!”
      Sally

  9. Hi Jeanne, thank you for sharing Sally’s gorgeous little girls. What a treat for the eyes!

Sally, your girls are absolutely beautiful, each one different from the next. I love their names, I can’t remember my own name some days.. kidding! How in the world do you remember so many names and which name goes to who? All your dolly dresses are sweet little treasures. I think you need a #3 in your collection, I love the sweet little smile of that sculpt but I understand your reason behind not having one. I recently sold “Avery” my number 4 sculpt for a similar reason. The LD BJD’s have the same face sculpt as the number 4 and when they were introduced I went a little crazy yikes!
Loved seeing your collection and thank you again for sharing with us!
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. I royally missed up, I read Barbara’s message and thought it was from Sally. Ignore the person behind the curtain, she needs more sleep or something!!! lol
Barbara you need to add a number 3 sculpt… they are just the sweetest!

    2. Oh, Ingrid. You cracked me up about remembering your own name. I’m well in that camp myself these days! To be honest, I had to look up some of the names of my dolls thanks to my Pinterest board “Oma’s Fashionistas”. Pinterest has made it a lot easier for me to keep my head on straight with my dolls and their clothes.
I also got a giggle out of your saying you went a little crazy with the LD BJD dolls. It’s so easy and fun to go crazy!
Thank you for your comments and hope we can chat again soon.
      Sally

  10. Hi, Jeanne,
I sure hope you gals have had a Star-spangled time together. Probably hard to part, I imagine. May you have many, many more “girl times” with them.
Once again, thank you for posting my pics and glad it helped you out even if a tiny bit. What a wonderful bunch of women. Boy, I sure have been missing out on doll talk as I mainly looked for your pictures of your amazing DIY house projects and what you were creating for eBay.
I sure had fun and hope I answered everyone.
Here’s a toast to you, your blog, and all your friends on it. I hope to become one, too.
    Hugs to you,
    Sally

    1. Hi Sally
A million thanks for pinch hitting for me the last 2 posts… I really really enjoyed your pictures and your commentary on them so much! I know everyone has enjoyed seeing your dolls in their gorgeous dresses and thank you for taking time to answer their questions…
I was able to get a lot done on Julie’s set after my sisters left today… thank you for giving me some extra time!
Please join us any time you want. and do share more pictures when you want…
I appreciate and thank you, Sally!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. I’m late today because I got inspired by your wonderful collection and straightened up the front bedroom which has turned into the doll room. I can see the yellow-and-blue toile bedspread and the floor now! Thanks for the inspiration to deal with that task.

My favorite dress is the moss green second from the left with the lace edg3 in the second picture. Is it applied or is the fabric a border print? Your collection is simply amazing! Every doll has the right dress to go with her appearance and personality and of course the hair color. I’m saving your pictures to enjoy for a long time. Thanks so much for joining us and generously sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience with dolls.

I clicked on Ingrid’s Comment and immediately ordered one of the little irons even before finishing reading other Comments. I have a sleeve board and a point pressing board which really came in handy when making masks. They take up very little room on a kitchen counter. Great idea for doll clothes.

    1. Good evening, Sussette,
Sounds like you had a busy and productive day in your front bedroom. Were you dressing dolls or reorganizing or what, exactly? I hope you had fun doing it. I am continually rethinking my organization to maximize efficiency of accessibility of the clothing collection. Carrying out the new plan can be work, but in the end, a good feeling of accomplishment.
Regarding the dress, the overall fabric is the tan and ivory with a fine, soft green netting overlay that has that ecru design on the border. I’m with you; when I first saw it, my jaw dropped. So unusual and such a stunning juxtaposition of color and pattern. Little Sara was mighty tickled to get to wear it first; however, she politely refrained from gloating. Good girl.
I’m really delighted you have enjoyed the pictures, and I have enjoyed chatting with you fine ladies. Do tell me exactly what you did with that room today so you were able to rediscover your bedspread and floor. I’m so curious!
      Sally

  12. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, thanks for sharing these photos. The outfits are lovely.

Dear Sally, your girls are adorable! I never tire of looking at Little Darlings. They are such sweet dolls and they wear dresses in such a fashionable way.

    1. Hi, Dorothy!
I totally agree with you; all the Little Darlings have their own unique look and personality and are such a pleasure to look at! Really pleased you enjoyed the pictures and thank you, Jeanne, for sharing them. Good night, everyone, and thank you for all your kind words.
      Sally
