Poppy finds The Dolly Toy Box…

What’s this???

“THAT is the DOLLY TOY BOX… you see, I sew things for little girls like you, and some bigger ones and every time I make them something, they get to look in the Dolly Toy Box and see if there isn’t something they might like to go with their outfit… I have other boxes too, of baskets, flowers, books, and lots of other things, but this is by far the favorite toy box of all…

Do I get to pick something to go with MY dress?

“Well, I suppose if you find something you like, I’ll let you take it…”

“What are you doing?”

(muffled) Looking…

“Did you find something you like?”

I found 2 teddy bears and will decide soon…

Well, you better get out of there… before you find something else… :o)

Have a wonderful Saturday… I will… my sisters are here!!! :o)

See you (Maybe Monday… maybe Tuesday… )
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, Poppy certainly had fun exploring your toy box! Somehow I figured she would get there eventually!!

My new Hanna came yesterday, and I am in LOVE! Her hair is especially gorgeous, I think. She and Bella are getting to know each other, and now think they need “twinsie” outfits!! (My friend Tonya and I do the “twinsie” thing at Sew Expo every year; this year it’s virtual, so next year….we already have our fabric.)

Have a wonderful time with your sisters. You are so fortunate–I always wanted a sister, but never got one, just a brother. He’s okay, but it’s not the same!

    1. And I always wanted a brother but had three sisters. Unfortunately not all sister relationships are like Jeanne and her sisters. My sister next to me and I were very close growing up but something happened after that and I never could determine what. But we seem to be getting closer as we get older. But my baby sister, sigh… Doubt anything will change there. It’s too all about her. As for vaccines, if you have any fears at all you would definitely do best not to get it. I don’t get vaccines either except for tetanus. But I don’t have to get a COVID shot because I’ve had the virus as has the rest of my family.

  2. Poppy is a lucky little one. How fun. I’m with Julia. I want to dive in and see all of the fun toys. The dollies here are jealous!
Hope you get to do some fun stuff, like antique shopping, with your sisters. Around here we’re watching the weather. Looks like we’re going to have high winds which puts us back on fire watch. No rain in the forecast and drought conditions. Not good.

    1. Joy, know you are always in my prayers. It seems you have one weather situation on top of another. My cousin lives in southern Oregon and they’ve had fire problems too, mostly smoke. My daughter in Loveland, CO, has had the same thing recently. She lives in a campground surrounded by trees so I do worry about her, but so far it’s been air quality that’s been the problem.

      1. Thanks so much for thinking of us. It has gotten so bad in the last few years. Very little snow in the Sierra this year either. Not good.

  3. Adorable photo’s of Poppy Jeanne. Enjoy your time with your sisters and we will see you soon!
    Hugs

    1. So, Ingrid, how are you feeling? Hope you have recovered. We’re on for first vaccinations in less than two weeks.

      1. Hi Joy,
Thank you for asking. I’m pretty much back to normal. My sense of smell and taste haven’t returned yet. I’ve read that it may take a while and in some cases it may never return. The other day I was cooking onions and I really thought I smelled them… may have been my mind playing tricks on me. LOL
I’m happy to hear you have an appointment to get your vaccination. Better save than sorry. I hope the vaccine will be available here soon I won’t need one but my parents do.

Dear Ingrid, hello. I hope you are doing alright. I am continuing to pray for you.

      1. Hi Dorothy,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. I’m doing ok except for my lack of taste and smell. Hoping that returns soon.
Hoping all is well with you, hugs Ingrid

  4. I’ll bet something is getting painted this holiday weekend! Hurray! Have fun with your 👯‍♀️ sisters.

The doll is darling. You may have to indulge. Is that toy box completely full to the top! Wow! I remember you said friends stay on the lookout and send tiny 🧸 toys. Wonderful collection.

  5. It’s enjoyable seeing all of Poppy’s adventures. She is a busy little girl. The poses with her at and in the toy box are enjoyable. Wonder what toy she will decide on.
    She is just too cute.

Enjoy your time with your sisters. I know you savor those minutes with them.

  6. I guessed with all the exploring Poppy would find the Dolly Toy Box eventually. Wow, what a marvelous amount of tiny toys. have a wonderful weekend with your sister. You’re so blessed to have siblings.

  7. Poppy is going to hate to leave. It’s nice of her to be willing to choose a toy instead of boxing up a shoebox full to take with her. Has she been able to help you cook? Don’t let her get close to the paint. I’m sure she’d want to help.

  8. Wow!! My dolly toy box is nothing like this. How does one choose?! Too many choices! Very nice choices! That Poppy is one adventurous child. Diving head first into the unknown. Just putting my head into the box would trigger my claustrophobia. I’d definitely have to sort sitting on top.

Have a wonderful time with your sisters. We’ll be sitting on the sofa waiting to hear all the wonderful things you did this weekend – indoors I’m sure.

  9. What a perfect time to have your sisters visit! Can’t do much outside so hope inside is fun.Humm…..wonder what you have in store?🤪😲😳
Poppy could spend hours going through all the fun items in your toy box. She is NOT going to want to leave!
    Enjoy your time together girls!

Dear Jeanne, I think we all know that Poppy is going to end up with both of the toys that she selected (laugh). She is such a cutie. I am so loving your stories with her.

Have a great time with your sisters!

  11. Instead of being one of the first to leave a comment, it looks like I am either the last or one of the last! I just was so busy, taking down my big tree in the family room, and putting everything away, and I mean everything! You would never know Christmas even happened here at my house now!

My first impression was that basket looked like a big soaker tub like so many home improvement shows feature, and right in front of a window too! I could not imagine how you came up with SO many toys to fill it up! Then I remembered that Poppy is just 8 inches or so tall, so that changed my thinking pretty fast! She is a character and things are going to be a lot different when she leaves! I think “someone” is going t miss her and I think we all will too!

Have fun with Cindy and Deb…………and tell them “Hello” from me!
