Don’t forget…
Tonight Bailey will have to get undressed and give up her Christmas dress. She’s a little disappointed but I bribed her with some cookies and I think she’ll be fine…so go ahead and bid on her dress…if you are so inclined!!
If you want to see the auction on Ebay, click on her picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE!
I thought we’d have a Giveaway for Christmas!! Do you like that idea?
Remember a while back when I was on a pleating kick? I made this first skirt but decided to make another one that had Velcro in the back.
This skirt has elastic in the back and isn’t as easy to slide up your dolls legs but I figured someone might like it so that’s part of the Giveaway…
You’ll have to find a white blouse or a black sweater…or something to go with it..
Now, remember that purse I just gave the tutorial on?
It’s included too! I’m sure someone’s American Girl doll would love these two pieces…
But wait…that’s not all…there was “some” talk on here about dolls needing a purse that opened up so it could hold their money, credit cards and lipstick!!!
Well, how’s this? Just a few little extras to make this a little more fun.
I had fun finding some images on the internet and making these…
If you are interested in your name being put in the drawing, (either in the comments below or it the Contact Me tab at the top) tell me what you would most like to find in your Christmas stocking!
That’s how your name will be entered in the drawing…I’ll pick out a name at midnight, Monday, Central Time… and let the winner know tomorrow.
Okay, let’s see what everyone is wishing for… :o)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, what fun! Of course, I don’t usually win things, but it’s still fun to see who does in a giveaway!! And Molly is here, reminding us all that her Very. Most. Favorite. Color. is red!!
What would I most like to find in my Christmas stocking? Some lemon truffles from See’s Candy! I haven’t had any since maybe March, and they are Soooo good!! I’m not generally a dark chocolate fan, but I do make an exception for these. They are just to die for! (And I think that my Santa is getting me some, if he hasn’t already!! He’s getting so he isn’t too steady on his feet any more, so I try to give him gift ideas that are easy and accessible, short walks from the car, etc.)
That’s a darling skirt, Jeanne, along with the little purse and goodies inside! This would be absolutely PERFECT for any of my 40’s dolls, but yes, Molly would probably win out on this one!
What would I want to find in my Christmas stocking? Real or imagined? If real, I wouldn”t mind having this cute skirt and purse in the stocking! If it is something imagined, a Covid flu shot!!! I can’t wait until this is over! Hopefully that is on the way soon, but certainly won’t be for Christmas!
Hi Jeanne,
I have a Pleasant Company Samantha doll who would look so sweet in this adorable skirt! I also have a piece of dark turquoise, gray, and black plaid fabric that I want to try your pleating technique on, but I think I’ll only have one chance to get it right so I’ll need to practice on some scrap fabric first. I need to re-review your tutorial.
As for what I like would most like to find in my stocking… I love the Trader Joe’s Cocoa Truffles. They have almost a buttery taste and dusted with cocoa. Yum!!
Fantastic giveaway and I adore the skirt & purse. My Samantha would look darling in it. I really want to try your pleating technique.
In my stocking I know exactly what I want. Concert tickets to see Pearl Jam, Tool, Godsmack & The Cure. Oh, and a Kitten would be nice.
What I would like in my stocking is a red plaid skirt and a polka dotted purse made by you, the famous Jeanne Marie! Or a back-to-normal life!
I’d like a stocking with a cute skirt and a purse for my Molly. But I live in Poland and your parcels do not arrive there. Best regards.
Yay! A contest! How exciting! š The skirt would help make a nice school uniform for our girls’ dolls. (Marion likes the one she got for her birthday. Unfortunately we lost the wire brush so her hair is getting tangled.) The purse and contents are lovely, too.
I want to find a toy closet and desk for my girls’ dolls, but they wouldn’t fit into a stocking. There was a cute goldfish in a bowl of water at Walmart on a doll desk that could fit though š Or some kind of nice little painted animal like a rabbit. š
Well, Bailey won’t be too happy to lose her dress, but some other dolly will be thrilled.
We had high winds last night and fortunately, haven’t heard of any downed lines fires. However, our sycamore leaves appear to now be in front of the neighbor’s houses. š Good thing the street cleaner comes tomorrow.
Very sweet of you to do a holiday drawing. How fun to see the credit card and “real” money.
Someone’s dolly will be very happy. š
Thank you for having another give away. You are very kind. I am working hard on just two doll Christmas dresses to get done before I run out of time.
I already got what I wanted for Christmas. I have never lived in a house with a gas stove and now that I am of the older age I finally got my wish.
I am MAD for plaid! LOVE this skirt and…. the purse and contents are to die for. Any one of my dollies would love them. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Good Morning Jeanne,
Guess who doesn’t have to babysit today!? LOL
Thank you!… You are so kind to hold a Christmas give away! Some lucky doll will be thrilled with that cute plaid skirt and the purse well it’s cuter than cute. I love the sweet little goodies you made to go inside the purse. You are so clever!
As for what I’d like in my stocking well I really enjoy giving more than receiving but perhaps a new Christmas movie would be nice. I love collecting Christmas movies.
Happy Monday
Hugs
Ingrid
I would like to find in my Christmas stocking : a tiny doll, a golden star andā¦ a Covid flu shot for everyone on earth.
Hopefulness.
MERCI from France.
I would love to find an outfit made by you in my stocking. But if thatās not the case I will be happy just being with my family at Christmas.
Bailey looks like a sweet and generous doll, so after a bribe of cookies and the promise of another dress soon after Christmas, she’ll probably allow her dress to go to another cute doll.
Did you produce those $20s? When I taught in a high school, the graphics class produced dollar bills showing “the Continental graphics class crossing the Delaware River,” which brought the FBI to the school to investigate. The class took it as a compliment.
I especially like the doll sized credit card. I had thought that that cute purse might be the start of a new Christmas outfit. A giveaway is a lovely idea. Do include my name on your list of potential winners.
To be on the list, I have to decide what I’d like in my stocking. I think I’ll choose Christmas Teatime https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/1940772648/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_7?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
for all the pretty and inspiring pictures.
Hi Marilyn,
That magazine is a special put out by Hoffman Media. In case you aren’t aware, there is a Tea Time bi-monthly magazine. I’ve received that for years as I request it as a birthday gift. I also absolutely love one of their other publications, VICTORIA. I have a collection of every issue.
They are a lovely escape and even more so this year.
You could check as my library has them available on their digital site. Maybe yours does as well.
Iād like to see the skirt and purse in my stocking with a challenge to make a top part to make it an outfit. Sewing anything but masks would be good at this point, although itās my way of contributing since I canāt do so like you do by showing up when needed. Thanks again for more fun. š
What a cute bunch of surprises for Gracie and Natalie to fight over. They’re sitting here making sure my name is added to the hat. They especially like the idea of the credit card.
They said then they wouldn’t have to ask permission to use mine. Gee, what could go wrong there! What would I like in my stocking? Maybe life returning to normal, especially for my grandkids and other young people.
You mentioned the other day that you used to drive around looking at Christmas lights. We did that when I was growing up and we did that for our kids while they were growing up. Obviously we haven’t done it in years, but I mentioned to David the other day that I think we need to do that again this year. One street over from us, nearly every house has done some great decorating. While mine is not, I live in a neighborhood of what we call “railroad houses”. Since Sealy is a railroad crossroads, there were a lot of railroad workers who lived here. When we first moved here, most of the railroad houses were empty and going downhill. Most of the houses are small but have now been bought by immigrants from Mexico. They have totally gutted them and redone them into darling cottages, often adding on to them. A real improvement to the neighborhood. One of the houses is a two story that was owned by a supervisor. It was later sold as a hotel so it has a lot of history. It was then owned or rented by families over the years and a few years ago it was for sale again. I looked on the internet and saw the pictures of the inside. Really needed a lot of TLC. About a year or so ago it was finally purchased. I was so used to it being there I didn’t notice that it was being totally redone inside. The outside has kept the original look and even the replaced windows are the same style. I went on the internet again and looked at the pictures. I was in shock. To say it is absolutely beautiful inside is an understatement. They kept the historical look when they could but the kitchen is totally amazing. It has something like 3 1/2 baths and they are all gorgeous. They replaced the wonderful front porch totally and, of course, a new roof. For me this is the one that got away. I couldn’t convince David to sell our property and buy that house. We actually have 5 acres with a house, shop and other amenities, but I’m not sure we could have sold it for what they wanted for the house and I didn’t want to incur a mortgage. They wanted $550,000 for it. Knowing what they’ve put into it, it wasn’t out of line, except for us. We’ve been mortgage free since 2015 and I really don’t want another one. Bottom line is, they’ve decorated it absolutely beautifully. It’s the jewel of the block.
I started decorating my tree yesterday and need to get back to it so I’ll bid adieu for the day.
Barbara, that first paragraph (about Gracie and Natalie) made me laugh out loud! Thank you!
Jeanne, thanks for showing the “extra cuteness!”
Cute give away things! Iāve won before so please donāt put me in the drawing.
Iād still like a COVID cure in my stocking! ššā„ļø
I love this skirt but I was lucky to get the other matching skirt so Iāll remove myself from the giveaway. The purse is adorable and I like how you make the items inside.
Iām sure someoneās going to be thrilled to win.
For my stocking wishes: a gift card from the American Girl company ( for accessories) and salt water taffy, maybe some old fashion ribbon Christmas candy.
This set is just adorable. I would most like to find chocolate in my stocking!
Hi Jeanne, a giveaway, what a lovely idea. I won’t put my name in the draw as much as I would like to. Postage cost again!
I always struggle when my children ask me what I want for Christmas. Last year I got really practical things. I mean REALLY practical. A voucher for getting my bathroom and shower deep cleaned, getting my oven cleaned and getting my car cleaned. I don’t know about anyone else but I always feel as though I have run a marathon after cleaning my shower! As for the oven! I have always said that oven designers are men who never have to clean them! The guy who did it takes the whole thing to pieces and does the most amazing job!
I echo my other sofa sisters and would love a covid cure in my stocking but the vaccine is the next best thing. Interestingly, after our last lockdown when there was a large outbreak in Auckland, we haven’t had any demonstrations or complaints about any of the measures we have in place to keep us safe. We had got used to the freedom we had and it came as a shock when so many events had to be cancelled. I think most of us are prepared to do what we have to to protect that freedom. The only thing we can’t do is travel overseas, amazingly the hospitality industry which usually provides services for overseas visitors has been kept very busy by Kiwis. Unemployment is very much lower than predicted and would have been even lower if we hadn’t extremely large numbers of ex pats returning and looking for work here.
I guess I had better get on, it was 29C here yesterday and going to be nearly as hot today so need to water my garden. I was quite late taking the dog for a walk yesterday it was about 9.15 am and it was already 27C! Too hot for walking so want to get out earlier today.
Cute little skirt and purse. It could even work for an 1980’s doll as I wore plaid skirts in high school. The Lip Smacker furthers the ’80’s theme, but I certainly didn’t have that wad of cash or a credit card in my purse.
As everyone else, a Covid cure in my Christmas stocking. Barring that, some Niederegger Chocolate Covered Marzipan Loaf the 7 oz ones, E. Otto Schmidt Lebkuchen, and Wicklein dominosteine, yes, I am brand specific. The Dominosteine are layered cookies…a layer of gingerbread, a layer of thick apple jelly, and a layer of marzipan, all covered in dark chocolate. think of them as the German petit fours. They are delicious!!
An AG gift caard wouldn’t hurt either as this is the first year since 2014 that I’m slowly saving for an AG item.
Finally got to go to the garden store/gift shop to see the Christmas items. Well, picked over though as I know it gets put out the first weekend of November. Still fun to see what was left though.
Dear Jeanne, the items are lovely.
I don’t want to be in the drawing as I have been missing for a while.
I will respond to the question though. My fanciful wish would be to sit around the table with good friends and take Afternoon Tea.
I really can’t think of anything concrete that I would like. My three “must have” dolls came to me this year. Yeaaaa!
Good to see you back, Dorothy!!
If that skirt isnāt so cute with the purse from your tutorial! Leave it to you to make your blog instructional and fun.āŗļø
I donāt have an AG doll so skip me on the drawing.
For a long time I wanted to put my Angel and doll ornaments on a separate tree and this year it happenedāŗļø I bought one of those skinny trees and it takes up just a little bit of room…love it! Iāll send you some pictures. Thereās lots of angels and dolls. My favorite are the little cherub like Hallmark Angels by Donna Lee. I would get one every year and all my kids liked them so every time I saw on at a garage sale or Estate Sale I would buy it. Now Iām so glad.My girls and g kids wonāt have to fight over themš²
Kathie, I have a doll tree š It has blown glass fashion dolls like the ones Nieman Marcus sold, but I bought them at TJMaxx over several years. Theyāre a variety of fashion, eras, dancers and different countries represented. Itās of a size between a regular tree and the 3ā tree for the American Girls. Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas š!
Hello, I have just found your delightful blog! You have amazing sewing skills, and anyone
will be fortunate to win this great giveaway.
As far as my wishful Christmas stocking, I would like all foster kids to find their forever
hones this year. I volunteer with these kids.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas.
I usually don’t ask for Christmas gifts, but this year I asked for a new Kindle to replace my dying one. I think my husband got one for me for Christmas, so I think I’m already getting what I want.
My daughter would love to have the cute skirt and purse set for her Emily doll, if I’m fortunate enough to win it.
