(Sorry, evidently I didn’t hit the “publish” button last night when I wrote this post!) Oops!
Ten Ping is SO sad… momma said there would be No Easter Parade this year… but there is a happy ending to her story. Momma let her do something fun…You can read about it in my Ebay listing HERE, or click the picture at the right side bar.
We ventured outside today for some pictures, and I was going to take a picture of my “setup” again to show you what it looked like from a distance, but I just this instant remembered “that I forgot to do that!” Sorry…maybe next time.
Ten Ping looked pretty sweet under our Magnolia tree and standing in the “faux” grass! :o) You can see the colors of the fabric and the trim better outside, I think. Here are a few of the pictures… You can see the rest in the listing…
Oh, and here’s a closeup of her shoes… my pictures yesterday weren’t the greatest.
Come back tomorrow to see something pretty for “several” dolls! :o)
See ya then,
Blessings, Jeanne
Your outdoor photos are wonderful. The colors pop and the springtime green grass and trees in the distance add so much. Beautiful outfit for Ten Ping.
Up early as we’re set to make a Costco run. Senior hours. 🙂
Hi Joy,
Hope you had a great run to Costo and found everything you needed!
Today is even prettier than yesterday…too bad I don’t have another doll dress made to take pictures of…
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
We got to Costco to pick up essentials and return a non working toy book just purchased on our last visit. We arrived to find many cars exiting the parking lot and a long line. We thought the line was for those coming after senior time, but it was not. It was a huge crazy line for seniors. The line stretched down the side of the building, across the parking lot, in front of Best Buy, and almost to Target. About a 1/2 mile at least. All vulnerable seniors separated by baskets at approximately 6ft. Not the best for our seniors. We figured there were so many people as yesterday they extended the isolation so people were stocking up once again. Crazy. Guy at the door said to come back at 6:00 as it was never busy then. So, we headed home and other person went to Safeway and picked up essentials. No lines. No crowds. Go figure.
Hi Joy,
What a nightmare! Glad you got things at Safeway instead!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh Jeanne, how sweet Ten Ping looks! I would think you took pictures before you had rain, or did you have rain? I really love the edging on the jacket, and yes, it shows up much better outside. The shoes look like a chocolate chip cookie with a chocolate chip button! Darling!
You know what? My dolls ARE having an Easter Parade! After all, they live in the 40’s , at least my main group does, and the others live even in earlier times, and my modern girls live maybe 5 years ago, so parades are fine for all of them!
Best of luck to you, Joy , on your shopping trip! I gave up on that Senior shopping time several weeks ago! Too crowded!
Hi Linda
We didn’t get any rain yesterday, but it was breezy so I was taking pictures between wind gusts.
Hooray for your Easter parade going forward! I bet your girls will be thrilled!!
Remember to take pictures!
Blessings , Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, I think that Ten Ping just had her own Easter Parade of one, well two if you count Teddy. She looks adorable.
I saw on a late night TV show a clip of New Yorkers going out on their balconies at a certain hour in the afternoon and clapping to everyone. That’s not hard to do because in many areas of Manhattan folks live in close quarters and can easily see each other’s balconies. It was a way to acknowledge that we are all in this together.
Well, it’s 12:02 pm my time. I don’t live in New York and I don’t have a balcony so I am sending everyone an “official” Dolly Wave (whatever that looks like to you). Blessings are being sent your way.
Thank you Dorothy,
Once Ten Ping got dressed up, she was twirling around swinging Susan by he arms!
We are waving back to you. Dorothy, please stay safe…
Blessings, Jeanne
What are we doing? I finally finished altering the six surgery caps I made for my DIL who is an anesthesiologist. She wanted them more like skullcaps than loose at all. I figured out I didn’t have to rip them all apart and just took in the one long seam, pinked the edges and seamed close to that. Only took a few hours. Whew! Now I can go on to other things. It was mind block until I got that accomplished.
The family has been house quarantined for two weeks since returning from a family trip to Canada. Got caught on the return trip the day after incoming from other countries set in. Came home on an almost empty plane due to the essential travel only from Canada. Stay at Home is in for the Houston Area now in any case just like here in California has been for several weeks.
Ten Ping looks just darling. Everything is perfect but that bonnet goes far beyond! Best of luck with the auction. Hope you’ll make some bonnets for sale or auction if they are feasible from the amount of labor involved.
My son’s family, not mine on the ski trip to Canada!
Hi Susette,
I bet these caps will certainly be big hits from the other anesthesiologists in the hospital. You did a great job on them…I’ll show them maybe tomorrow.
Sorry they have to be quarantined, but it will be over soon.
It’s funny that you mentioned the bonnets…that’s all I’ve been thinking about! So I think you’ll be seeing some more!!
Thanks Susette,
You stay safe too!
Blessings, Jeanne
So sad that there is no Easter Parade. Well, Ten Ping will have a lovely day, regardless. She’s sure to get a sweet treat. Wow, those shoes are incredibly small. They must be challenging to make.I know Easter was celebrated in all my doll’s eras and That in Victorian?Edwardian times Easter egg rolls and baskets etc were popular as well as in the 1930’s. I need to see beyond church obviously what was done in Colonial and Civil War times.
Linda, you will of course have to share photos of your girl’s Easter Parade. I never manage to find time to dress everyone for a holiday or season. I’m usually lucky I get to dress one. My lucky one for Easter will be my Marie-Grace who will be wearing Addy’s plaid summer set. It was the very last item I bought when I was actively collecting.
No, Jeanne, I’m not tired of Mary… thinking of a new name for her though.
Good luck with shopping, Joy. We’re not supposed to do that even, unless it’s essential.
I have always tended to buy multiples when things were on sale to save time and money. it was a super tactic when I was homeschooling and working from home in the evenings.
Oh, several dolls tomorrow?? How intriguing. Can’t wait.
Hi Laura,
The first time trying out a new pattern for shoes is always a challenge, but every time I make a pair, I tweak it just a little bit to improve it. Thank you for your sweet comments!
I am like you, Laura; buying in multiples and bulk makes better use of my time when shopping.
I hope you get Marie Grace dressed for Easter… maybe Mary too?
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the colours, beautiful spring day.
Hope your auction goes well. Is your postal service still fully operational?
I’m going to have a go at making tiny shoes today. April fools day here but no pranking happening – except maybe a news item about a herd of wild goats taking over a small town in Wales, but in these strange times it might be real.
Excellent jacket and bonnet that ten ping is wearing,
Hi Jane,
Yes,our Post Offices are still open, but I think they have changed their hours being open.
I hope your shoe cobbler skills were tested today and I hope you had fun most of all.
Thank you for your compliments on Ten Ping’s dress set. I sure enjoyed making this one.
Thanks Jane,
Blessings, Jeanne
Well, I Wondered why your blog never came thru last night! It’s usually one of the last things I read before I go to bed at night! I’m glad everything is okay; I was worried that someone might have gotten sick or something.
Ten Ping’s outfit is just darling, and I love every part of it. I think though, that her hat and her jacket are my favorite parts.
Not sure if anyone will see this since I posted so late!
