Let’s see a few more dolls in favorite Christmas pictures…

My thumb and wrist are still too sore to do much of anything, so I will have to show a few more pictures of my Favorite dolls in some Christmas poses. Hopefully my satellite won’t be so much of a snail this time.

We left off with Wren, didn’t we?

Let’s look back at a few Christmas dresses for my 2 Katie Effanbee dolls. They were 17″ tall and one was called “Mommy’s Garden Party Katie” and the other was called, “Scotty Girl Katie.” They both were cuties, but the market fell out from under them… I don’t even know if you can still find the dolls on Ebay anymore.

Here are a few pretty Christmas dresses on Patsy Tonner. She’s 10″ tall and has been a wonderful little model for me…

Here she is in Snow Princess… isn’t she just the sweetest thing?

Let’s look at some dresses on 18″ Nyssa now…

These pictures of Nyssa in the green crushed velvet dress are some of my VERY favorites…

Ah, yes… the dress that just about did me in! I thought I would never get it finished… it was “this close” to going in the trash can!

Well, I think I’ll stop here for now… I do have lots more though… stay tuned! I can’t “sew” but I’ve got pictures to “show!”

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

OH, what fun!! Right off the bat, my favorite is the red snowflake jumper and blouse on Katie. Second favorite is Nyssa’s blue velour dress–so pretty!! And I think her silver dress is just elegant.

In reference to your last blog post: Ali, congrats on getting Sara!! I think you will love her.

Dorothy, I have Julie Good-Kruger dolls. Julie and her late husband Tim did them, until they sold the company (molds and all) to Boyd’s bear. As far as I know, there is no book about her dolls, but I may have some articles from old doll mags that I can copy and send you if you’d like. Which one did you get? I loved that her dolls had “real” faces, not just “pretty” faces. I’m friends with Julie on Facebook.

Susette, thanks for the info about the Beauty and the Beast fabric. Guess I’d better check my local JA’s and see if they have some! That is my favorite of the modern Disney movies.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing some repeat Christmas dresses.
I’m also glad that you and Dorothy might connect and discuss the Good-Kruger dolls. It’s great that you know the maker of these dolls.

I hope you find some Beauty and the Beast fabric… and make some fun out of it…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Thanks so much Charlotte!! She is coming on Friday! Not too long to wait now. : ) I think I will love her, too. I’ve pined after her for so long now that I’m sure it will all go very well. : ) Love and Big Hugs, Ali

  2. Beautiful outfits! I always enjoy seeing the girls model them. The green print is a favorite of mine. I also like the pretty blue with snowflake accents on Patsy.
What a wonderful Christmas show of loveliness!

Hope you are feeling somewhat better despite the soreness. You can’t hurry that type of injury. Enjoy the season even though you are limited. It may be a time for you to catch your breath and not be overwhelmed by so many activities. Just sit back and enjoy the holiday!
    Blessings Jeanne!

    1. Thank you Paula,
I always liked that green print dress on Nyssa too. The green eyes I used for her that day seemed to make her look sort of sad to me…almost like she had been crying when I took her pictures. But I still liked those pictures.
I was hoping to get started on my cabinets, but they will have to wait a little bit longer. I am hobbling a little bit on my foot today. My thumb and wrist seem to be more of a problem. I can’t even wring out my dishrag without it smarting. I did some dishes today…first time in 11 days.
I am enjoying the holidays…just differently than I had planned.
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. So, did you and family put up a tree this year? I would love to see it if you did. Maybe I missed it.
I guess you had better start thinking about those Valentine dresses as that holiday will be here before you know it. I’ve actually seen a few already up for sale. Unless you want to do a few cute winter or ski outfits before then. 🙂
Raining here today so perhaps I’ll actually finish a bed set for the Fashion Friends girls. My Bella is due here tomorrow, but we’ll see if the snow on Donner summit slows down the delivery. Fedex ground delivery takes forever. Off to check on the delivery date.
    Hope you are healing well.

    1. Hi Joy
No…no tree for us this year…its okay…just think of all the time I’ll have to do other things…like sitting around with my foot up and not going shopping. :o)
I guess I’ll pack up my Christmas fabrics and stickers… my year has suddenly come to a halt… boohoo…
I guess Valentine dresses are next and I guess I better get on them…who knows what might get in my way next…hopefully nothing.
We want to see your Bella when she arrives… have you sewn anything for your girls yet?
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I love the outfits. My favorite is the last one, in silver and blue. If I lose 20 pounds, can you make that dress for me (chuckle)?

Nothing new in my doll world. I am excited to see the Little Darling swap photos on ning which should begin to be posted next week.

I will be taking tea at the end of the month with friends. The tearoom does an “Elegant Tea” at 7 pm once a year. There are candles on the table. It’s so beautiful and, well, elegant.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Dorothy wants a silver dress, Dorothy wants a silver dress!! Sorry, I’m NEVER making anything from that fabric ever again!!

Can you take any photos at your tea? We would LOVE to see what everything looks like!! Pretty please?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. What a pretty trip down memory lane, Jeanne! I too love the red snowflake jumper and blouse as one of my favorites! I also love the blue and green crushed velvet dresses, that look identical. They look so elegant and something you would wear for the holiday parties. It reminds me of the AG Christmas dress for Molly, one of my all time favorites.

I had to laugh at the picture of Patsy’s teddy bear wearing her jacket! Adorable! And that pretty blue outfit she has with the fluffy hat, is just darling, and a favorite of mine too! Seems like I have a lot of “favorites” today!

And just why was that last beautiful dress that Nyssa is modeling giving you fits? It turned out beautifully as far as I can tell!

Still up to our gills in snow here, but it is so pretty sparkling in the sun! By the time it is Christmas, it will be all brown again, but we will have our pictures to remind us!

Take care and don’t push yourself too much! And yes, maybe start thinking about Valentine’s Day dresses!

    1. Hi Linda,
I know you surely have seen these dresses many many times but I’m glad you still hang around and look at them again.
Patsy’s blue “Snow Princess” dress photographed so well…I had several pictures I just had to share.

Nyssa’s silver dress was made from that awful fabric that traveled so badly. It was so insane trying to make that dress and it wouldn’t cooperate!!

We only have a little bit of snow left, but it’s been so cold it hasn’t melted very much. I haven’t been outside since Sunday…and I’m going to wait until it warms up in a few days before I do go out.

I guess I better start thinking about those Valentine dresses!!
      Thanks Linda
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. My favorite today is Scottie Girl Katie. I remember the torture the Nyssa silver dress inflicted. It was a several-day process with raveling being the problem. It turned out beautiful but I’m sure any leftover fabric went in the trash. It’s beautiful and she is the perfect model for it. It continues to amaze me how many dresses of different designs you have made over the years. Thanks so much for sharing them. Love these posts.

    1. Hi Susette,
I looked on Ebay and saw a “few” Katie dolls, but not the ones I had. I’m glad you liked her!

I actually didn’t throw that silver fabric away, but it IS out of sight! :o)

Thank you for always enjoying my dresses! It makes me smile to hear you say you like seeing them again.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Glad you are mproving some each day. Why is it there is always something to slow us down when we need to be BUSY! I got a darn chest cold and haven’t had one in years. UGH
Oh that Katie Effanbee was just a beautiful doll. It is so hard to predict what is going to be popular and stay popular. I know I really do love the new Bella doll. Her expression is so dear. The red velveteen jumper on Katie reminded me of the jumpers my Aunt bought my girls when they were 3 and 4…oh how we loved those jumpers. The next year we had moved to the farm and had NO money for Christmas dresses. I put the jumpers on them and by then we had a baby boy who had a red outfit…we started taking pictures but the jumpers were so short it was naughty. Plan B…sat them on the couch and no one could tell the hem on the jumpers didn’t reach past their crotch. I kept those jumpers for years because of the Aunt who gave them to us and how the girls loved them.
Nyssa was sure a good model too..all those tiny buttons down the back of the green velvet are amazing. I chuckled when I saw the grey and Turquoise outfit. I remember how you were so frustrated with the fabric …but you kept at it and it was so pretty.
Hope your patience lasts till your ankle and wrist heal. When you are not used to being down it can test you!
    Hugs

    1. Hi Kathie,
It does seem like everytime you need to get something done, or have a deadline to meet, something gets in your way. I hope your cold goes away quickly.
What a good laugh I had when you shared how you sat your girls in their “mini” dresses on the couch to hide how short their dresses were. That’s a great story!!

A friend emailed me a few weeks about altering a dress for a wedding she’s in…it’s a good thing I passed on it because still can’t sew…or even hold a needle just yet…
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. I love all the outfits but I think the one with the patchwork skirt is absolutely adorable. I love the Kaye Wiggs dolls but every time I find one for sale, I lack the funds. Maybe some day. Nyssa makes such a wonderful model. I really love the dress that almost made it into the trash can. Glad it didn’t. I’ve had some projects like that a few times myself. Patsy’s Snow Princess outfit is so pretty. I know my Sofie/Lolla/Lissy would love an outfit like this. I’m really behind in my Fashion Friends purchases. I still only have Bella. I’m hoping someone will start designing patterns for them so I won’t have to do as much adjusting. Bella does love her red crushed velour dress and it looks great on her, but it doesn’t fit her exactly as I want it to.

Dorothy’s Elegant Tea sounds wonderful. Wish we had something like that around here. She does such fun things with her friends or with her dolls or both.

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Barbara, hello my friend. Come to PA and I will take you to tea AND to the local Doll Museum.

    2. Hi Barbara,
Nyssa and Katie modeled things so well. I don’t know why I don’t sew for Nyssa more…
I wonder how many of those Ruby Red Fsshion Friends dolls have been sold? It seems like a lot to me. Although, I’ve looked at the completed listings on Ebay and there haven’t been any sales for outfits that I can see…maybe on some doll forums there have been sales…

It does sound like Dorothy has a grand ole time with her dolly friends.
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne
