Last Day for the Vintage Velvet auction…

The current bid on the Vintage Velvet dress is $175.00.

I thought I better put a post on here so you could see what has been happening and have some way of seeing the bids placed on the doll dress. If you haven’t been reading my posts this past week, you’ll have to check out these 2 posts to see what we are doing… It’s kind of like a silent auction that I’m running right here on my blog. The 2 following posts tell all about what is going on.

A VERY SPECIAL AUCTION

Vintage Velvet is ready for bidders

If new bids are placed today, I’ll do my best to keep them up to date at the top of this page. But if it gets toward the end of the auction…say 11:45p.m. tonight and last minute bids are coming in, I can only do my best to keep the highest price updated. If someone places a bid at 11:58, I might not be able to get it posted in time for all to see the current price. It’s not exactly like Ebay, where bids are placed and you can see if you need to up your bid.

Just remember I’m going by the clock on my computer… when it hits 12:00 midnight tonight, the bidding is over. Whoever has the highest bid before midnight is the winner of the dress. If 2 bidders bid the same amount, I will go with the earliest time of the first bidder as the winner. My best advice is to just bid what you think you can give and don’t stress out over it. As soon as midnight comes and goes, I will email the winner just so they know if they won.

Everyone has been so generous and kind and I’m blessed to have such wonderful readers who would help out another in their time of need.

I hope everyone thinks this has been a fair auction and will be okay with the outcome. I’ll leave it up to the winner if she/he wants to be identified or not.

Thank you so much for the blessing of your friendship!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Marilyn and her sister will be able to throw a very nice party for Marilyn’s caregivers, it sounds like! Congratulations to whoever wins the auction!

No sewing for me today (boo hoo); I was working at church, some in my Sunday School room, and then the rest of the time cleaning. Elizabeth and I decided to do both October and December, so we wouldn’t have to do either January or February!! With a small congregation, our “turn” rolls around about three or four times a year. She works with me because my hubby can’t do that any more–just getting too frail. (He’s 13 years older than I am.)

Tomorrow we get to meet our great-nephew, Rurik, for the first time!! They are in town, staying down at my brother’s for a few days, and Paul and Jill are having an open house so people can come and see them. I promise to take pictures!! (And it’s also Rurik’s daddy’s–our nephew–birthday tomorrow.)

  2. If the dress doesn’t go any higher it will still be a nice amount…plus the donations for Marilyn’s party. You are so thoughtful to organize this fun money raiser. Enjoy your weekend with your family!
