Yes, I have and hope you can stand to look at a few more… Hopefully in a few days I’ll be back to my old self… my wrist and thumb are probably more frustrating than my foot.
I’m just going down my list of dolls and pulling out the Christmas dresses I made for them. It’s so sad for me to realize my Christmas season is over. I guess I should be grateful I got a few done… Noel in “Christmas Sparkle”
Molly in “Waiting for Christmas”
Patsy Tonner in “Golden Touch”
…and “Vintage Velvet” for Julie (or any other doll)
I guess that’s not TOO bad, but I sure had a lot more planned… Oh well, like several ladies said in the comments yesterday, move onto Valentine’s Day dresses. I guess I’ll be starting on them soon… :o)
Okay, so are you ready to see a few more dolls in some past Christmas dresses?
Let’s see something pretty on Felicity…
Another favorite of mine… Colonial Christmas… Felicity never looked prettier!
I ran across these 2 pictures of Molly in a Christmas dress that I’m not sure I’ve ever shown…
Okay, that will have to be it for today… plenty to look at, don’t you think? I’ll have to save more for tomorrow… Hopefully by the time I get through all my Christmas dresses, my wrist will be better.
Thanks everyone… as you can see from all the dresses I’ve made… I LOVE TO SEW! That’s pretty obvious! :o)
Hope you enjoy seeing them.
Blessings, Jeanne
Yay, more eye candy!
I have both Felicity and Molly, so today’s entries are especially appealing to me. My favorite for Felicity is the outfit with the purple velvet cape and bonnet–just wonderful!! I love it. My favorite for Molly is the one with the plaid skirt, black “vest” and white blouse. I just love that look, but really, I like them all!!
Oh gosh, Jeanne, I absolutely LOVE that first outfit for Felicity! It is so frustrating, that now AG doesn’t make clothes for her anymore, so her wardrobe is at a standstill at the moment. It is very hard to find something for her that is correct for the period, that I like, that I can afford!! But you knocked it out of the box on that one!
And I love that red plaid dress on Molly! it somehow reminds me of the dresses I wore as a little girl. At this time of the year, I look back more and more to remember who things “were” back then, and it certainly warms my heart!
We can tell in your writing how frustrated you are, it does take a long time to get over one injury but three is a lot. It will get better. Love all the dresses and no matter how many times you show them I always love seeing them again. Thank You for sharing!
Your Christmas will get merrier!
From Sylvia in very cold NH
Dear Jeanne, you could dub this line up “the festive parade,” as the girls look adorable and so well decked out. My favorite outfit is the first one, on Noel. I think that the Boneka dolls are so sweet and I love to see them all dressed up.
Here is a question: have you ever made any boy Christmas outfits? It would be interesting to see them.
Thank you for continuing to post, even though you are not 100 percent yet. We all like having this connection with you and with each other.
The red dress second from the bottom is the one that got me started on a reference file that I keep for inspiration,. What’s funny is that, like you, I don’t copy but get ideas for sewing for my dolls. There are still dresses I haven’t seen, believe it or not. Molly’s dress she is wearing with her braids pinned up is a new one on me. All of Felicity’s dresses are wonderful but the one with the cape is my favorite. What a successful post this is. Thanks again.
Jeanne, beautiful dresses and hope you recover 100% very soon! Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Oh boy, the red dress with the black corduroy collar almost to the bottom is by far my favorite. I believe it is one of Susette’s inspirations too. Was the embroidery machine or hand stitched? What a great pattern too. Love how the skirt drapes. I don’t believe that I have ever seen that pattern. Did you design it? I think that pattern would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day dress in pink tones. Come on Jeanne, get on it. What? You can’t cut left handed? 🙂
Still working on the bedding for my Fashion Friends girls. On to the pillows…
Molly with her braids up in the multicolor Christmas print is the one that took my eye this morning. I don’t remember seeing that one either. It is always fun to see the style show again no matter how many times they have been shown.
Thanks for the pictures and have a healing day!
I liked them all! I could never choose one. I do take inspiration from them. I have some red Cotton velveteen that would be gorgeous if used in homage to your beautiful designs.
Like Dorothy, I’m curious about clothes for a boy doll. My boy doll is mostly done. I have not swapped eyes. I think that is a job for a professional. Do you have a boy doll?
One of the things I noticed after I had my auto accident was that my body did not seem to heal simultaneously. It seemed like my body worked on one injury and when that was mostly healed it started working on another. What was really weird was that things that were less traumatic showed up later when I thought I was all healed. Weeks later I saw that the inside of my legs were black and blue where they had hit each other as I rolled over. I would have thought that would have shown up sooner. I had never had severe injuries before so had no idea what to expect. It was interesting to watch. Oh well, it gave me something to do when I couldn’t do much else.
I love all the pictures but I especially like the first one of the Molly pictures you said you hadn’t shown before. Beautiful dress! Not having a daughter who was into dolls while she was growing up and not being into them myself at the time I am hopelessly ignorant of the AG girls. Everyone seems to know which is which just by looking at them. I don’t. I know about them and their stories, but I don’t know their names by looking at them. When they first came out I hoped my daughter would want one – or more, so I was aware of Samantha and one or two after, but when she showed no interest I didn’t pay attention any longer either. Now I wish I had. When I decided I wanted to sew for 18″ dolls, I chose my MA Gracie because she was less expensive than the AG dolls. Since I prefer sewing for the smaller dolls, I never bought another 18″ doll. My only AG doll is my Wellie Camille.
I certainly understand your frustration with your injuries. I know I would be, especially right before Christmas when we all perceive we have a lot to do and must get it all done. But to make you feel better I should show you my house right now. Christmas is just a few days away and my kitchen is still full of boxes of decorations I have yet to do anything with. My tree is up and decorated and my village is finished (just put the people and accessories out yesterday). It seems there is always something that takes precedence over my holiday “have-tos” – like normal life things. Today I need to pay the first half of the Kansas property taxes (where our farmland is located). Then I need to get a check off to the city to renew the license on our mobile home park (the City called to remind me yesterday). Then maybe, hopefully, I can get busy on finishing the decorating and get the boxes back on the shelves in the garage. We usually have a quiet Christmas here with no guests but we do something on New Years Day when we will have family and friends for fondue. I’m shooting for the house looking good by then. Oh, and I still haven’t done my letter and cards. I always remind myself the 12 days of Christmas are after Christmas not the 12 shopping days before and as long as I still have some left, I figure I’m good to go.
Hi Barbara,
Don’t feel bad about not knowing the dolls. I know the historicals very well because those are the ones that interest me If they are ones that I or my daughter collected for I also can tell you who a piece of clothing or accessory belongs to. I recognize the GOTY from being on the doll boards, but neither my daughter nor I had/have any. Except for a very few, the AGOT (now called TM) I can’t tell you a number or anything else about them.
My daughter had the dolls first and I saw the catalog first in 1989 when there were only the first three. The last doll I remember seeing in a catalog debut was Ruthie ( even though the last doll me daughter received was Nellie). She asked for her as a 16th birthday gift and then promptly turned around two years later before college and downsized her collection selling Addy, Josefina (I claimed her PC German Samantha set to go as well and Felicity, Samantha and a few other items I loved) and lots of stuff. I missed the historicals that came out between 2007-2014 when I started my own “real”collection. I started with a PC West German Felicity, the doll I loved when my daughter got hers.
Here are a few links for you to peruse if you are interested in the dolls names etc.

The time here is fun even though the pictures are small

On this one
https://americangirl.fandom.com/wiki/Historical_Characters
if you scroll down past the BeForever picture to the Historical Characters line you will see a list of all the historical. Right click on the pink name and it will open a new screen to show you what that doll looks like. Farther down on that page is a pink line saying “collection” if you right that you can see all there stuff.
Study hard, Barbara. I will be giving an exam after Christmas. LOL
Hi Barbara,
I haven’t got my letter/cards started either. I figure if I get them out by New Year’s Day I’m doing well–if I get them out by Christmas Eve, so much the better!
I did get the package to the midwest grands mailed today, a day or two ahead of my “normal” schedule–hooray! Still have a bit of shopping to do for the local grands, and then the rest of the wrapping, etc. Lots of “etc.” left to do!! LOL
(The reason I knew Molly and Felicitiy is because I have both of them. I’m a little fuzzy on some of the newer ones, though…)
I have most of the AG historical dolls, but Addie and Felicity are my favorites because they both look so lovely in whatever outfit they are dressed in. Seeing Felicity dressed in that beautiful green and white outfit just confirms it. That is the perfect dress and bonnet for Felicity.
I hope your ankle is getting better!
Love all the dresses on Felicity, but the first one. Colonial Christmas, the next one, and the last one are my favorites. It must be frustrating that you didn’t get more Christmas dresses finished, but moving on to Valentine’s will be fun and then on to the gorgeous Easter ones.
