Sock tutorial postponed till Monday…

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your prayers as I had my second cataract surgery Friday morning.
This time it was a little more involved…I’ll just share a simple explanation. The doctor removed the cloudy cataract and inserted the new lens. Then he made another incision and somehow manipulated and reshaped my cornea to correct my astigmatism. I actually don’t know which procedure he did first.

This time when I woke up my eye was stinging and feeling kind of tight. They said everything looked and went just fine. We drove home and I got in bed and slept until 7:30 I think.

When I got up and took the patch off my eye, it was very bloodshot and stinging. I put the drops in my eye and did a little “ouchie” jig!

I’m sure it will be better tomorrow. My eye is still super dilated and I’m not seeing clearly but every once in a while I’ll blink and things sort of look clear. I can’t wait to see.

SO… the sock tutorial will have to wait till Monday. I need to go back to bed…

Thank you everyone.
I’ll read your comments tomorrow…my eyes aren’t working well enough to see what you wrote.

I’m writing this on my phone and probably have corrected 50 mistakes…hope I got them all.

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

    Dear Jeanne,

I’m sorry to hear about the “ouchies”. If in doubt, CALL YOUR DOCTOR!! He wants to know what is happening. If it is still stinging tomorrow, still looks bloodshot, etc., PLEASE call him!! Don’t mess around with your eyes!! You only have the two.

It would be so much better for him to say, “this is normal, this is to be expected” than to not call and end up with some kind of damage or injury! We all love you and want your eyes (both of them) to be working properly and healing well!! Sock tutorials can wait.

    1. Yes to Charlotte and Susettes comments. Call the Dr’s office..someone is always on call.
      Take care my dear!
      Hugs

  2. I echo what Charlotte wrote, sock tutorials can wait! Just get your eye healed and be sure to keep in touch with the doctor if anything is amiss. It is probably fine, but just keep watching it. You will feel much better once you see clearly again! Hugs to you!
Also, I see no mistakes in the above blog, so good for you! You get a gold star!!

  3. Glad to hear the surgery is over. I fourth what everyone above has said. If bothering you this morning, call the doctor please.
On a dolly note, I’ve been busy trying to find shoes for the newly expected Hanna, Ruby Red Fashion Friends girl. If you might have Kish Seasons dolls, I believe they share the same size. But, I won’t know for sure until Tuesday, when if all goes well, she will arrive. Then I can measure to be sure.
Hope your eye heals quickly and you can get back to reading/sewing/life soon. Be thinking of you.

Dear Jeanne, I echo Charlotte and “sixth” what the others have said, just take care of you.

We are all just sitting here on the sofa, drinking tea and coffee and discussing what we are doing for Thanksgiving. Well, the others are discussing that, I am thinking about restaurants because I don’t cook (laugh).

Have a quiet and cozy weekend.

    1. Oh, Dorothy. I wished over the years that my family would agree to do the restaurant thing for Thanksgiving. I prefer sewing to cooking, but everyone wanted the leftovers. Hubby always baked the pies but I did everything else including the clean-up and for years I didn’t have a dishwasher. Now a lot of the tasks fall to my son and daughter-in-law who love to cook. I just go and sit on their wonderful, comfy sofa and watch them do it all (three in their kitchen is two too many). I enjoy the day with family and bring home some leftovers. Works for me.

  5. Having had two eye surgeries I’m very protective of my eyes so I would want to know exactly what to expect from any eye surgery. It seems like you had a little more extensive work done than with the other eye. Sometimes doctors are not very forthcoming on exactly what to expect after surgery. Maybe it’s to make sure you do call them if you have any questions. You probably have already called. I hope everything is going fine.

Since I wasn’t going to make the socks anytime soon, no pressure on my part for the tutorial. I’m still working on a Christmas dress for Lolla Rose and it’s going slower than anything I’ve made lately. Hope to finish it today.

Relax, take it easy and definitely rest your eyes. At least the surgery is behind you now.

  6. Glad you are resting and taking it easy. Also, glad your eye surgeries are over with and I hope you have no problems.
Soon you’ll be up and returning to all the things you want and need to do. Thinking of you dear.

  7. So glad you’re home, now just recuperate! Molly’s dress is so cute. Christmas Sparkle is my favorite, but that size doll is so uncommon. I wonder what other dolls it may fit. Maybe one of the Dumplings?
Joy, the Ruby Red dolls are so tempting. I haven’t found any info on their hair. I imagine that they are made with wigs. Please let us know when your new girl arrives. So very tempting!

  8. Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know I believe everything is fine today. Rest and vegging out is what my hubby wanted me to do. And I did.
The stinging is mild today and the bloodshot look is much better too. I am taking it easy and appreciate all your concern.
My vision is pretty good and my brain is figuring out how to use one eye for distance and one for close up. My contacts have been like that for 47 years, but this is s new prescription so it will take a little while for my brain to sort out everything.
I have an appt with my regular eye doctor on Wednesday so maybe the dilation of my pupil will be down to normal and he’ll only have good things to say.
Thank you everyone…I’m so glad this is behind me and can’t wait to “see” what’s ahead.
    Blessings, Jeanne
