I barely made it by the skin of my teeth, but I managed to get Patsy’s Christmas dress, “Golden Touch” finished and listed on Ebay… You can see it by clicking on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE and be taken to the auction.
I thought I’d show you a few of the pictures… I decided to add a second bow… Julia mentioned maybe making a bow in the gold lace like on her dress… I did and then I added it a black piece of 1/8″ elastic, so it fits like any headband would, and it’s pretty invisible (at least on the brunette Patsy’s.)
I also let Patsy find a “toy” in the Dolly Toy Box and she came up with “Goldie,” her new friend.
I changed my background on the pictures I took this afternoon too… I thought the lace on the floor was a bit too busy.
Here are a few pictures… but do check out the listing… I did go ahead and put a Buy It Now on this set… but I’m always happy with bids too! :o)
I know it’s not PINK, but I think Patsy looks like a little Christmas Princess!
Linda was wondering about how I did the necklace… I just beaded a length of gold beads and then stitched the ends into the shoulder areas… with the charm floating in the middle. I actually like the jump ring that lets the charm float and slide around on the necklace. It looks more realistic that way. I was going to “sew” the charm in place and then bead up from there to the shoulders, but it seemed kind of stiff that way to me.
Well, I hope you like it! I think it’s one of my favorites for Patsy… Sissy asked me if it fit Bailey, my My Meadow 11″ girl? I hadn’t even thought about it, but I did try it on her and it worked… Want to see some more “adorable-ness?”
That’s it for today…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
I love how you did the necklace, Jeanne, and you are right about having the charm on a jump ring so it can slide around. Looks much more realistic that way!!
Ooh, that outfit looks so cute on Bailey, too!! It’s always nice to know when something fits more than one type of doll!
Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad you like this dress set on BOTH girls
Yes…having it fit different dolls is a real plus!
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the outfit on Bailey. Of offense to Patsy, as it is adorable on her too. I think the lace background adds so much to the photos too. They are lovely. I think the reason I couldn’t view the extra photos at the bottom on ebay last evening may have been an ebay thing or even your satellite taking longer to get them loaded. I think I looked at the listing pretty quickly after it was listed. Either way, the photos are all there today so that is great.
Now, it’s on to all of the other activities you have on your list. And extra out of town visitors arriving too. You will have your hands full.
I forgot, my favorite photo is Bailey sitting in the chair with her teddy. Hope you put that one on the Meadow site. 🙂
Hi Joy,
I wish now I had been able to include some pictures of Bailey in my listing. I can’t believe how sweet she looks in it too. Course, I can’t say that too loud in front of Pstsy.
I will try to get some photos of Bailey on the Meadow site…I think I might change her wig though. I think it makes her look a little washed out…
I’ve got to figure out my menu for Bithar’s family…they would probably be totally fine if I only made corn casserole!!
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Beautiful outfit – and it fits the Dumplings too. Hmmm… I love all the Dumplings but I think Bailey is my favorite. Wish I had her. I love my Lolla Rose, but she always seems so sad. Bailey always seems over-the-moon happy. Thanks for the information on doing the necklace. I love that it’s part of the dress rather than separate. My kids once were into bead crafts and hubby, in an effort to support their interest, went out and bought tons of those pony beads in every color and type. They are in a big box in my sewing room. I never thought about making doll necklaces out of them. I have fun ones and dressy ones, etc. Lots of possibilities.
Boy if you think Sofie was happy yesterday you should see her today. Her Christmas outfit is complete, except for her silver tights. She looks totally adorable in her green velour dress with long sleeves and her sweet Christmas patterned organza (unfortunately more glitter) pinafore that ties in the back with a bright red ribbon. I used the tulle again for the lining of the pinafore. Unfortunately I can’t iron the skirt of the pinafore so it stands out a little more than I wanted, but she said she can live with it. Today I will be working on Bella’s dress. Have no real idea where I’m going with that. I have a pattern and fabric and some ideas. Time will tell.
I still have a few photos to send you from the doll museum in Colorado and also the outfit for 18″ dolls made totally by hand by the lady at our church Fall Festival. I need to send those before I change Gracie out of the outfit into her Christmas dress.
I haven’t checked the eBay list yet but definitely will. I love seeing all the pictures.
Thank you for your kind compliments, Barbara,
I’m glad I picked Bailey for my Dumpling too. Her sweet impish look won me over big time!!
I hope you have fun making some necklaces and bracelets for your girls…
Yippee for Sophie!! What a good mommy you are!!! Congratulations on getting her dress completed!!
I hope you have fun making Bella’s dress! I know you will.
Thank you Barbara,
Blessings, Jeanne
Patsy’s ensemble is gorgeous. I’m so happy you made the gold bow. A girl can never have too many shiny accessories!
I’m going to be concentrating on my crocheting for awhile. My sewing projects have been giving me fits. Time for a little break.
Hi Julia,
Maybe when you come back to your sewing all the problems will have resolved themselves!
Thanks again for the hint on the gold bow…I’m glad you thought of it and I’m glad I made it!! It’s very cute!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Those girls can fuss over the latest dress but they won’t have long because I’m sure someone that has those two dolls will grab it! Cute as it can be on both of them.
Hope you have a good weekend!
Thanks Kathie,
I’m hoping you’re right…I want to take some new pictures of Bailey in the dress…
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, the dress looks adorable on both of your little cuties. I think that the Boneka dolls wear the same size so the dress should fit them also.
Only 5 weekends until Christmas. How is that possible? I need to hire a personal shopper and an interior decorator. Maybe Santa would loan me one of his elves.
Hi Dorothy,
Whenever I make something, I need to try it on ALL my girls of similar size and snap at least a few pictures of each…
Boy, if you find any bargains on a personal shopper let me know…mine also needs to cook, clean house and visit my mom!!
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, if you had My Meadow Dumpling in the title it would sell better!
It turned out beautifully.
Hi Sissy,
I think you might be right. I tried it on her so quickly, I need to double check and make sure everything is okay and then maybe I’ll change my title…
blessings, Jeanne
Oh, Patsy looks SO sweet in her pretty gold outfit, Jeanne! I actually have never seen her look prettier! But then when you showed the same outfit on Bailey, that really did me in! Just completely adorable! I can’t imagine those two will let you pack it up and send it away!
Thank you so much for showing how you did the necklace. I now understand, and thought it went all the way to the back. That was a great idea, thanks to Cindy! At first I thought the charm was too big, but after the full view of the dress, it is perfect!
I think Bailey looks cute in the blonde wig. What color would you prefer, especially with that dress? She looks like a little ray of sunshine with blonde hair, I think!
I was having trouble with my computer early this morning, so didn’t comment then, plus I have been gone all day until now, so am late. I’m back though!
Thank you Linda,
I’m so happy you like Patsy’s dress…(and Bailey’s too). At first it was just “okay” to me…just a pretty little dress, but by the time I finished everything for it, I just loved it!!! I love it when that happens!!
I was thinking of possibly a darker wig, but I might retake my pictures with the blonde wig at a different angle. I don’t think I showed off her eyes very well.
Thanks Linda,
Blessings ,Jeanne
What an adorable little dress that is on Patsy. The “gold” theme is running high on the Christmas dresses and I absolutely love it. The gold on the dress, golden tight, golden slip and gold lace bow makes it look so festive. Very clever to make the necklace attached as part of the dress since she’s such a tiny girl. Bailey looks equally sweet. I love the impish faces on the Meadow dolls, just don’t care for the fact the joints are so visible. Wish they had the subtle flexibility that the latest OG’s have or like Skipper from my childhood, although she was rubber, I guess.
Can’t wait to see who is up next for a Christmas dress. You got a great start this year. You’re already cranked out three and it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet, plus you had cataract surgery to boot.
Thank you Laura,
I’m so glad you like all the details on the dress. I really enjoyed this one…seems like everyone else did too… now to find just the right buyer!!
It has been a better start to my Christmas season than in years past
..don’t know who’s up next…
Blessings, Jeanne
That’s a beautiful Christmas dress for Patsy, and it’s always a bonus when it fits more than one type of doll. I like that you made another hair bow. The buyer can have a choice of which one they use, and you’re right—the elastic isn’t visible on the brunette doll.
Hi Carolyn,
Thank you so much for your kind words about Patsy and Bailey’s dress. I’m thrilled everyone loves how it turned out…now to get Patsy to “take it off!” Yikes!! :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
