It was a race against the clock but I managed to get Noel’s “Christmas Sparkle” dress set listed on Ebay. My eye was dilated and it took several hours before I was able to see clearly enough to get my pictures ready. I had them all cropped and edited and I had narrowed it down from 89 to 25 and was giving them a name to find them. I accidentally hit the wrong button on my computer and lost all my pictures. I wanted to cry! I tried to retrieve them, but they were gone… the folder was totally empty. So I had to start over with the pictures I still had and start cropping those. I had a few really nice ones I had retaken, but I guess it’s okay. I think anyone who wants to bid on this, can see everything they need to from the 18 or 19 I salvaged.
You can see the listing on Ebay by clicking on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
If you’ll notice, Noel has now been blessed with a pair of panties… Anne mentioned it in her comments yesterday and I HAD to get busy and figure out a pair for her. It looks so much nicer when I lift up her slip. :o)
This dress set was a lot of fun to create.. I hope the winner loves it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Oh, by the way, my eye doctor said I now have 20/20 vision in my right eye… YAY! No telling what I’ll be able to accomplish when I get both eyes working together! :o)
Have a wonderful Saturday and don’t forget to set your clocks back!
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, dear, I’m so sorry about your losing those pictures, Jeanne! At least you didn’t lose every picture you took, having to start over again!!
Noel looks just darling in her outfit, and I love every part of it. Someone is going to be very happy to have a new Christmas outfit!
Glad to hear your eye is doing so well, It certainly is a pain, having to wait so long for your eyes to un-dilate! Years ago there used to be a drop they could put in that would reverse the process, but I guess some patients had trouble with them, so they took them off the market. It was sure nice for a while, though–having your eyes back almost immediately, so to speak!
Hi Charlotte,
I should have been more careful with my pictures… oh well…I managed…
My ee is finally back to normal, I think…they said it actually takes about a month to heal completely.
One Christmas dress down, several more to go!
Thank you Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
Seeing the wonderful Ebay pictures, Jeanne, one would never know you lost a bunch of them, because the ones you did use are wonderful! I especially love the close up ones with the pretty lace background! The sparkle shows up so well!
I have a question to ask, about your cataract surgery. Did you get laser surgery or regular surgery, whatever it is called? I won’t be needing cataract surgery for a long time, but just wondered what you had, since it seemed to have worked so well.
Yesterday was so welcome here, with the sun again out and milder temperatures, but, and I do mean but, we have leaves all over the place that just keep coming down! The big question is, do we wait a bit for more to come down, or rake and blow now?
Hi Linda,
Thank you again for thinking up the name for this dress. I think “Christmas Sparkle ” is just perfect!!! :o)
If you have good eyesight of even eyesight that isn’t perfect but is staying stable for at least a couple of years, lasik surgery can fix it. They go in and reshape your cornea with a laser.
Cataract surgery removes the lens that has gotten cloudy and blurry over time. The more cloudy it gets, the less light shines in your eye making it harder to see things clearly. It is really hard to drive at night…for me. It was getting almost impossible. Everything just had an overall dull appearance to me…I didn’t really realize just how dull things were until the lens was removed and a new lens implanted. It didn’t hurt a single bit…I never felt a pain or even a twinge in my eyes.
If anyone’s eyes are cloudy-like, I highly recommend cataract surgery.
I’m not sure why some people get cataracts at an earlier age than others, but I read the average age for the surgery is 65…I’m a few years early!!
It’s beautiful here today too…and we have gazillions of leaves too. George mulches ours up and tries to stay in top of it each week. As many as are falling, it seems like a never ending job.
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Congrats on the 20/20. Soon you will again have perfect vision in both eyes. 🙂
Noel looks all set to tackle Thanksgiving or the big “C”. So sorry about the photos. I’ve never tried it, but I understand that if you lose something, if you hit certain keys, before you do anything else, it will all come back. Perhaps a computer techie might know.
I’m with Linda on the leaves. They are everywhere and not just here, but the whole town. After the big winds which fanned the fire, I don’t think any yard escaped the mess. Leaves, twigs, branches, etc. The yard waste cans are full, but there is a ton more. So, we’ll just keep filling the cans until it is gone. Maybe by December.
Hope you can squeeze in some rest this weekend.
Hi Joy,
Seeing good with at least one eye is great…
pretty soon it will 2 good eyes.
I’ve heard the same thing…about losing something, it’s Control…something, but I had already hit other buttons trying to retrieve things before I even realized they were lost.
I guess EVERONE has leaves, no matter where they live…maybe Florida people still have leaves on their trees…
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Noel looks like a Christmas belle! The none traditional red and all the softly gleaming gold is the pinnacle of festive!
My crocheted pumpkin was finished on Halloween. It is stacked on top of my second book pumpkin. Now my house is sufficiently fall-ified and I am done making pumpkins. Maybe. I did see a couple new ideas on Instagram. They looked like I might not have the main craft supply so I deliberately didn’t look for a tutorial. I’m ready for Thanksgiving now!
Thank you Julia,
I’m glad you like Noel’s new dress. It’s nice to not always do something that SCREAMS Christmas, but can be used easily for Christmas.
I’ve got to start thinking about Thanksgiving too…I am a bit behind!!!
Thanks Julia,
Congrats on finishing your pumpkin!
Blessings, Jeanne
Seriously one of your best ensembles! Everything just comes together perfectly. Hope she starts a bidding war! Those panties are a hoot. Makes me ready for Christmas and here it isn’t even Thanksgiving.
Gosh…20/20! Can’t beat that. We are lucky to live in a era where cataracts are not a big issue. Can you imagine living with them and them getting worse all the time? Thank the Lord for eye surgery.
Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Kathie,
I’m thrilled that everyone likes this so much…now about that bidding war? Works for me!! :o)
Yes, thank the Lord for eye surgery…mine were getting so bad, I was having a really hard time seeing at night and just forget about helping George read the road signs on a trip!!
Thank you Kathie,
Blessings, Jeanne
How wonderful that you have 20/20 vision in your eye now! I’m assuming you will also have 20/20 in your other eye soon? Having 20/20 vision will be wonderful for you. Especially with the talent in sewing you have., as well just being able to have restored perfect vision to see anything.
I’ve worn glasses for years and the recent eye exam I had shows one eye that will need cataract removed at some point. I never had lasix done when I could have had perfect vision so I’m hoping at least one eye will have good vision at some point.
Noel is a beautiful doll and she looks so happy modeling this gorgeous sparkly Christmas outfit. The first up -close picture of her with her skin color and blond hair against the whole outfit is so appealing. It’s a beautiful outfit. Well done.!
Now that we’re at the house, we’re working on unpacking and spiffing up the place. Hard work but fun.
Hi Paula,
I’m certainly hoping and praying for 20/20 vision in my left eye. It will be so strange to get up each morning and not put in my contacts. Everything will just be clear from the instant I open my eyes.
Noel us one of my dolls that actually looks better on my pictures in real life. She has sort of yellowed or maybe even grayed a bit over time. But when I take pictures of her, she looks like she has this leaves and cream complexion!
I hope you’re settled in by now.
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne,
Glad to hear you’re through the surgery. I had both of mine done in July. My vision is so much better! Now… As for the undies, I can see you are an overachiever! That’s some glitzy lingerie! ❤️
Thank you Anne,
I really should have made those panties to begin with.. what was I thinking?
It IS wonderful to see clearly, isn’t it? I can’t wait for Friday to get the other eye done!!!
Thank you, Anne,
Blessings, Jeanne
The pictures you saved are wonderful. Noel sparkles from head to toe. I love the gold panties, too funny. A lovely set to kick off your Christmas sewing. I love to see all the things you make, but the Christmas ones are especially fun because of the glitz. I also like the spring with all the flowers.
So glad your vision is perfect, that will make sewing a breeze. Her little bear is so cute. My daughter got a three inch Boyd bear one year at the “Victorian Stroll” event we used to have before Christmas. He looks similar, but has blue overalls. Our Victorian Society (now defunct) members dressed up and everyone else was encouraged as well. The town was decorated very old-fashioned. The shops were open late and little gifts were randomly given out. There were carolers and hot cider and treats. We still have the tree lighting, caroling, and late shopping, but I miss the Dicken’s ambience that used to be.
I’m sure the winner will be delighted. Can’t wait to see who’s up next and what other seasonal wonders you have planned.
Hi Laura,
Thank you so much for your very sweet comments. Noel and I both thank you!
I like to see what kind of Christmas dresses I can come up with too! You never know!!
I went to Bishop Hill in central Illinois and I was St. Lucia evening on both times I was there. There were carolers and singing, decorations galore, the restaurants were serving cinnamon rolls and Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. It was so much fun to walk around and hit all the stores. It sounds a lot like your Victorian Stroll.
I’m trying to decide tonight who will be next.
Thanks Laura
Blessings, Jeanne
