First of all, thank you for your sweet comments on Navi’s dress. They were all so wonderful and you are so kind! My day got away from me and it was so late before I was able to comment… so I just decided to thank you all at one time! Thank You!
This teeny tiny set should have been finished a long time ago, but I made a trip to town (oh… and my car was running just fine!) looking for some lime green little girl tights, or a pair of really lightweight lime green panties, or even a pair of Halloween socks that were thin enough to make a new pair of thigh highs and use the same pair of green shoes. I went to the Goodwill, the thrift shop, Macy’s, Penney’s, Walmart, and finally decided there was NO lime green stretchy fabric anywhere in town.
So what did I do? I dusted off my “shoe cobbler” hat and put it on! In the time I was in town, I could have made 3 pair of shoes… UGH! Not really, because I was hurrying, but in the end, I came home, started to make a pair of white thigh highs from a very thin fabric I have, BUT I wanted to use those lime green ones I showed you last night, so I got in my Ultrasuede drawer, scrounged around for the right pattern for shoes for Navi, drew out a new size to accommodate socks this time and came up with a new pair! I hoped when I got them all done, they fit! AND THEY DID! Yay! Now I’m happy! Navy is too…she didn’t want to take off those lime green thigh highs.
This isn’t the most flattering picture of Navi, but she loved swinging her new shoes…
…and standing in them…
I made them a slip on this time without any strap, and added a gold heart button.
I put a penny inside the shoes so you can see how tiny they are… Now I guess I can officially call them “Penny” loafers!
I managed to get a new hair bow finished, but the Kitty Ears are still needing my attention… then we’ll be DONE! Yay again!
Isn’t she just the most adorable little girl?
…and one more because she’s just so much fun to take pictures of…
Navi asked me since I didn’t get very much done today, could we show everyone what the “accessory” for this set will be?
Well, I guess…
I was putting away a few things and I turned around and saw Navi laying on the bag of candy…
“What are you doing, Navi?”
“Oh, just dreaming about Candy Corn!”
Have a wonderful weekend!
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, what fun, a new pair of shoes for Navi! You can save the others for another time, when you have thinner fabric for her thigh-highs (or perhaps no stockings at all?) I’m glad you were able to use the lime green ones after all, and I can see that she is pleased, too!
The new bow is really cute, and will be a nice accessory to wear when she doesn’t feel like wearing her kitty ears.
She looks so cute in that “big” chair, swinging her feet! Well, she just looks cute in every picture! So photogenic!!
Thank you Charlotte,
I’m glad things worked out..new shoes and old thigh highs…next time…old shoes, new thigh highs!
Navi couldn’t be happier!
Me either!
Thanks Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
So cute Jeanne, and I can see why Navi is so pleased with how she looks! The new shoes are just plain adorable! I’m so glad you were able to salvage the green tights! She is now ready for these cooler days.
I too, love the big bow, and can’t wait to see her new “ears”!
Have fun with your sisters this weekend!
Thank you Linda,
Thanks for your compliments on Navi’s new shoes and hair bow. It won’t be long till I’m finishing up with this set and moving to the next!
I WILL have fun with Cindy and Deb!
You have fun with yard work, unpacking and anything else you plan to do!
Thanks for your pictures!!!
Blessings, Jeanne
She is really really cute.
You made her the most adorable shoes too.
Thank you Rosemary,
She loves them, I love them, you love them… what could be better?
Have a great weekend, Rosemary,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the photo of Navi on the Candy Corn. Would be so funny with her popping out of a bag. Then you would be able to eat one bag and send off the other. 🙂
Good thing we took in the car yesterday. They are going to replace the whole navigation system because that loud pop I heard was an exploding capacitor. George will know what that is. If you have ever taken in a car when something wasn’t working and then of course when you arrived it was working. I had thoughts about that, but Honda isn’t like some other companies. They had their very knowledgeable techs take a look and they spotted that problem right away. Only problem, the part won’t be in until next week, but the car is working fine right now. Good thing it is under warranty, as it would be very expensive if not.
Hope your weekend if fun filled with family. 🙂
Hi Joy,
Not only will the winner get a bag of candy corn, I went back to the thrift shop and they had more leaves, so I’ll be sending the winner a bag of 55 leaves well.
My car didn’t act up yesterday when I had it out!! YAY!
Yay for your car too… I’m glad it was still covered under warranty! I’m glad you dont have to worry anymore about what was going on…
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Navi is totally adorable! I keep checking eBay for tiny dolls. It’s mostly clothes and wigs. Very few actual dolls. Probably just as well.
Have so much fun with your sisters! This makes me teary eyed. I miss doing fun things with my little sister.
I finished my book pumpkin. It’s huge! I’ll send Jeanne some pictures.
If you join the Meadow Dolls face book group, often members will have dolls for sale. They usually sell pretty quickly but buying one from a member is much faster than waiting for the preorder which can take up to 9 months to arrive.
And I too can’t wait to see the pumpkin book. 🙂
Hi Julia,
I just saw Joy’s comment to yours and she’s right…the Meadow Doll Fsn Club facebook sight has dolls listed pretty often…you should give it a try…
It’s a great place to “cure” dolly fever! 😉
I got your pictures of the book pumpkin and LOVE it. Everyone else will too!!
Thanks for sharing them…
Blessings, Jeanne
Can’t wait to see Julia’s book pumpkin!
Navi is so patient but I’m sure she was glad to wait for just the right shoe. The new ones are a good fit too!
Have some good sister fun!
Hi Kathie,
Julia’s booknpumpkin is awesome. You’ll love it! I’ll share!!
I plan on having some fun sister time…they are on their way…can’t wait till they’re here!!
Blessings, Jeanne
How sweet Navi looks. The new shoes are adorable and the little heart button is the perfect touch. Glad you were able to make new shoes made to fit those tights. I really think green is the best choice. I can’t believe how small those shoes are. The big hair bow is great and I can’t wait to see the kitty ears again.
Glad your car is working well and have a great time this weekend.
Can’t wait to see Linda’s pumpkin pictures and Julia’s book pumpkin.
Thank you Laura,
Even though they are Mary Jane’s I still think they look okay, I wish I had a little gold buckle… I guess I should start using the larger size pattern I drafted with Fall and winter upon us. Socks will be needed in the cooler weather.
I hope you have a great weekend too. I’ve spent a few hours with them tonight and my cousin is having a picnic for us tomorrow… that should be a lot of fun.
I’ve got those pumpkin pictures ready for Monday! :o)
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
