Want to see an adorable Tea Party?

I just had to take some time out today after getting Navi’s dress listed on Ebay (HERE) to get my sewing room back in order… I don’t know how it got in such a mess, but it was a disaster. At least to me it was…

Fortunately, Kathie sent me some pictures of her grandkids having the best time at a tea party in the back yard. The pictures were just too precious not to share. I don’t know which one is my favorite… I hope you enjoy them and I’ll be back tomorrow…

This one might be my favorite…I LOVE her concentration…

No wait… maybe this one…

Thanks for sharing your girls with us, Kathie! You must be in heaven when they are all around! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, what sweet pictures! Thank you so much for sharing your granddaughters with us, Kathie!

  2. Oh, so sweet, Kathie! I too have had tea parties with my granddaughters, and just may get one to send Jeanne too! I love their period correct outfits! Was that planned for the picture taking session? They are just adorable! I can understand having it outside and not having to worry about accidental spills!

Did you make those darling pink and yellow pinafores? Darling!

Thank you so much for sending them to Jeanne, and to Jeanne for showing us!

  3. What adorable children – such sweet pictures! Thank you Kathie for sharing them with us. The children look so sweet among the pretty flowers and the tea set and linens and their outfits are so picturesque against the background. I can almost hear their chatter .

  4. Wonderful pictures! The little one on the left in the first picture looks especially like a little doll. You must have so much fun with them. What wonderful memories they will have of visiting their Nana. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures.

  5. I love the beautiful must-be-ironed classic outfits. These pictures will be treasures forever.

  6. How fun! Not sure how you got everyone to pose so well, but fabulous photos and outfits. The perfect background flowers don’t hurt either. Great kids. 🙂

  7. Hi everyone,
I hope Kathie chimes in and answers some of your questions. I think her pictures look like something out of movie or at least a Sew Beautiful or Victoria magazine… I’d have them framed all together and put them in a pretty room…
Thanks so much for sharing them Kathie,
    Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Awe..ThankYou all for your nice comments. Those were taken years ago but still my favorite pictures of them. The older girls in the pink and yellow dresses are sisters and I made those dresses for their mother and my other daughter for Easter in the 70’s when long dresses were “in”. I showed the dresses to Emily and Renee and of course they wanted to “try them on”…one zipper almost popped but they had fun in them. Emily is interning this summer and will get her BS in Dec, Renee is in her 3 year of nursing.
Yes Linda..The Tea Party pictures were carefully planned when the daisies were blooming. I had been collecting antique dresses to use to dress the dolls I was repairing so before they were cut down to fit dollies we used them for the pictures. Joy is right.there was A lot of starch used. Marilyn…Can you imagine ironing all those white dresses every week ?
Susette…Elizabeth is the one on the left. She had the cutest chubby cheeks at that age and now is a slim 13 year old and has the longest legs and does gymnastics.
Joy…We went through lots of lemonade and cookies to snap those pictures. It’s amazing what cookies will make kids do. My son wasn’t too thrilled when we dressed his baby boy in the embroidered blue outfit but he loved the final pictures. Landon is almost 12 now.
The little girl with the pink bow is Mackenzie, she will be a Junior in HS and the one with 2 white bows is Cassidy and she will be in 8th grade.
I must admit I loved them at these ages but meeting them eye to eye is wonderful too. Two of the boys tower over us and oh how they love to rest an elbow on my shoulder and glance down. LOL
Hope I answered all the nice comments..thanks for sharing their pics. Jeanne, Thanks also for keeping us interested in our dolls and sewing !

    1. Thanks again Kathie,
Your pictures look timeless!! We all loved them!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Hi again Kathie,
It would be fun to get them all together again and do pictures again mimicking the first pictures. They could just be in regular clothes but still have tea cups…just pondering your sweet babies…
      Blessings again,
      Jeanne

  9. I had the advantage of arriving late today – my house needed some serious attention – so I came after Kathie’s explanation. I actually wrote down who was who and then went back and looked at the pictures again. It is so much fun to look back and see what our children and grandchildren looked like then and now. I loved Kathie’s descriptions.

The pictures are lovely. Thanks for sharing them Kathie and Jeanne. I’d love to have a tea party with my granddaughter but I’d actually be more likely to have one with my grandson. He’s big on putting Legos together, but he would not be opposed to having a tea party if someone invited him. When I had them the other day they wanted to watch their movie “Cats & Dogs”. Unfortunately my DVD player in the living room decided to malfunction and the door would not open. So we moved into my sewing room. To watch in there we had to move several dolls from in front of the TV. At the mention of dolls my granddaughter disappeared and my grandson went in to help me move the dolls to my worktable. I introduced him to each one and he thought that was cool. Probably he was just amazed that I could remember all their names, and it was only half of them.

  10. Arriving late today as well. What sweet pictures of your granddaughter and grandson. Now that they are grown those pictures must be a real treasure. I, also, love the period correct attire. They look as if they could be in Colonial or Regency era. Thanks so much for sharing them
