Let’s have a Silent Auction for Nellie’s Fourth of July play set! and an UPDATE

Instead of listing Nellie’s patriotic set on Ebay, I thought I’d have a “2 day silent auction” right here on my blog!! I’ll show you the pictures and you can decide if you want to bid on it. So no one else sees your bid, you’ll have to use the “Contact Me” tab just under my header and email me your name with your bid. Since this will be my only post till Monday morning, I’ll try and give some updates of the new $$ bids (not the bidders names) over the weekend AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST… NOT IN THE COMMENTS SECTION, JUST AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST. The bidding can go through the weekend and will end at midnight Sunday night (Central Time zone.) If you have any troubles just let me know. I won’t declare the winners name, but just if it sells or not… That gives you from Saturday whenever you read my blog, until Sunday evening at midnight to place your bids. We’ll see how it goes…

I’m going to start the bidding at $30.00 and shipping will be FREE to the person with the highest bid.

The set includes the peasant TOP; which closes in back with snaps, the elastic waist shorts, the navy with white stars tie belt, the 2 hair ties, and the pinwheel. Nellie and her shoes are NOT included.

We actually managed to get an outdoor photo shoot in before the sun went down. I used my shish kabob sticks again… and you can see them in the photo from the back of the outfit… Well, let’s see what you think.

Here is the fun fabric I found with “All American Girl” printed on it… I think it’s so fitting for the AG dolls.

Here’s the back shot where you can see the shish kabob sticks used to hold her up in the yard… works great!!

…and one more to make you smile!

Let the bidding begin…

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

I decided to make Nellie another piece to go with her Patriotic shorts and top set. She is now wearing a navy blue sailor hat! It’s made from a linen fabric and is stitched with white thread so the stitching will show up…and added the stars to her hat too…
Here are a few pictures of it…and the updates for the bidding below…I had already taken the bows out of Nellie’s hair because I didn’t want the rubber bands to crimp it…

UPDATE: WE HAVE A BIDDER!!

Bidder “A” has bid $35

Bidder “B” has bid $45

Bidder “A” has bid $50

Very cute, Jeanne! The fact that it has two hair ties to match the belt means that it would work well for Molly, too–or, really, any of the dolls with long-enough hair to put into braids or ponytails!

The fact that it’s separate shorts and top make it very versatile–in fact, one doll could wear the top with plain shorts (or it would be cute with a denim skirt, too), and another doll could wear the shorts with a solid-color t-shirt or blouse! That might be fun, if you had “sister” dolls….or just for two different looks for one doll, for that matter.

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
It could easily work for a couple of dolls… glad you like it.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Darling outfit, Jeanne! And talk about timeless, it goes very well from the 40’s to now! Not all of us have dolls that wear Civil War and Victorian dresses, so your last two outfits help round out that misconception that all you do is 1800 era outfits.

It looks like the blouse can be tucked in or out of the shorts, and like Charlotte said, both pieces can me mixed or matched with other pieces. The hair ties and belt work out perfectly with the print! Making it available for just your blog readers makes it special to whomever wins it!

While I’m not going, the big Blues parade is today, but will be shown on TV. Did you hear the Blues WON the Stanley Cup??? 🙂

    1. So glad the Blues one even though I’m a Bruins fan. Nice to see a team win that have never done so. Oh, I think I would be at the parade. They really did give the Bruins a run for their money especially the last game, they were just on the entire game.

      1. Thank you Sandra! St. Louis is just thrilled to get the Stanley Cup finally! It’s been a great day here!

    2. Hi Linda,
Yes, she CAN sew something besides historical outfits… :o) I’m glad you like it too.
I did hear about the Blues big win!!! But I didn’t hear about the parade… maybe you changed your mind and decided to go. :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Oh my gosh, there were over half a million people there, and I do have a bad knee, so no, we didn’t go. But it was televised all afternoon, so we watched that.

  3. Well, Nellie is all set for the 4th. Turned out very cute. Good luck to the bidders.
Excited to be going to a Giants game tomorrow in SF. Taking the ferry and meeting the grands and their parents who will arrive on another ferry. Saves the parking hassle and we get to enjoy boating on the bay. I’ll keep an eye out for whales. There have been a few lately. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
Well, so much for updates on the bidders…guess it’s not as cute as I thought it was… or maybe it’s going to be s bidding war at the end… oh well…
I hope you do see a whale on your ferry ride… how fun would that be!!! Hsve a good time at the game.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Nellie looks so adorable in her patriotic outfit! 2 pieces make it perfect for mix and match. I’m trying not to have buyers remorse about that fabric because it is so fitting for our American Girl dolls.
Jeanne has very kindly let me know that she got my pictures. Thank you Jeanne! I didn’t forget how!
My guys were gone before I got up this morning. They are going to a NASCAR truck race with Son’s girlfriend and some of her family members. We haven’t met her parents yet so Hubs will be doing that this weekend. We will eventually all meet because I think she may be “the one”!

    1. Hi Jillaurellia,
Oh, how exciting for you and your family to maybe be meeting your future daughter in law. I hope your hubby has only good things to say about her and her family.
I just saw the fabric again today…you better go get some…they also had it in the clearance aisle… just sayin’…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Nellie’s outfit is so adorable and I love the fabric. Very patriotic and the outfit being two piece makes it very versatile. Let the bidding begin!

    Have a great weekend.

  6. I LOVE silent auctions. This outfit is too cute. I know my Gracie would just love it. On with the bidding!!

    1. Hi Barbara,
Thanks for your sweet compliments on this set… I’m glad you like how it turned out…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I almost forgot to tell you I received my patriotic slip today. I’m so excited and I know Claire and Fallon will be also. They’ll have to draw names for who wears it first. I’ve got an idea for a dress for them to wear over it. I’ll send a picture when I get it done.

    1. Thanks for letting me know you got the slip and that you like it. I hope your girls can figure out a schedule for who gets to wear the slip on what days..
      Blessings,Jeanne

  8. She’s so right now…just like any Little American Girl would look at the 4th of July parade.
I don’t have any AG’s but you girls have fun bidding!

    1. Thanks Kathie,
I didn’t realize you didn’t have any AG dolls…do you just have Little Darlings?
Thanks for the compliments on Nellie’s set.
      Blessings, Jeanne
