My Meadow Doll, Bailey, had fun trying on doll wigs…

I am very blessed that so many of the wigs I have for my Little Darlings fit my new Bailey doll. She’s the newest girl at my house and we hadn’t gotten around to trying on wigs until last night. I was surprised that so many fit her and I think I even have more that I didn’t get out of the drawer…but these will do for now… Most of them are synthetic mohair… my favorite feel for doll wigs. I love it! I think she looks great in just about any color and I was so thrilled I changed her faceup instead of keeping that first try I did. The second faceup I gave her was definitely a better color, especially for her eyebrows.

Changing wigs on your dolls is the one way to turn “one doll into many different dolls” as you’ll see below.

Most of these wigs are size 7/8 and they fit her pretty well… just be sure and hold her by her ears and not her cheeks…the last thing you want to happen is have your finger slip and scrap her newly painted face… I think I’d cry!

Okay, so let’s see some wigs on her… she was a good little model for me…

I think I have a dozen to show you… I’ll add the Monique link HERE if you want to check out the site when you finish looking at the wigs I show below. I like the Monique wigs because they are on a stretchy cap and are more forgiving than some of the other brands. You have to tug less to get them on the dolls head.

Bailey looks adorable in this Monique JoJo wig in a size 7/8. She’s definitely a peaches and cream kind of gal!

This wig is a Monique wig in the style called Sassy. I don’t remember the color… maybe strawberry blonde in a size 7/8.

This is a Monique Hannah wig in a size 7/8. Most of the Hannah wigs turned under but mine had a mind of its own and wanted to flip, so I went with it. I don’t know the color of this one.

I’ve had this wig a long time and you’ve seen it on my Nyssa doll. It’s a very old style wig and is limited to just a few sizes now. This one is a size 8/9, and is obviously called Carrot Red. It’s called a Kana Wild wig, by Monique again. I love it and even though it’s a lot of curly hair, it’s fun to play around with… braiding it or piling it on top of your dolls head. I also have it in coal black.

This next wig is a Monique wig in a size 7/8 and is called Laura EX. It has 2 braids that come around the crown of her head and are pulled back. You can sort of see it in the first picture with all the wigs around Bailey. It came on Janie, my Little Darling. It’s kind of a mess, but it looks like a little girl who has all those uncontrollable curls when she gets sweaty! :o)

This blonde wig is one of the Monique Hannah wigs in a size 7/8. It hit my dolls in the wrong place on their shoulders, so I trimmed it to a short little bob. I like this one on Bailey a lot.

You saw this little red bob on Bailey the first time I shared pictures of her. It’s another Monique wig in a size 7/8, and is called Doris. Again, it’s plain to see this one is called Carrot Red.

I made this next wig from Tibetan Lambs wool pieces… It’s a bit wild but I like it on her. I’d have to get just the right outfit and it would win you over, I’m sure!

This next little wig was one I got on Ebay for a low price. I trimmed it a bit and put the braid on the side.

This was another wig I found on Ebay for about $6.00 in a size 7/8. It’s a pretty auburn color and was one of those doll wigs in sausage curls. I took the curls and separated them and made it a little more modern. It’s not synthetic mohair, but it surprised me at how nice it was when I received it. My Janie wears this wig and looks fantastic.

Sorry, I had to show you this wig on Janie. It’s a very pretty wig, and I loved this picture. The pictures I took of Bailey in it didn’t do it justice.

This next wig is a Monique Bea in a size 7/8. It came on my Emmie, Little Darling doll and I’m not crazy about it. It’s layered all over and kind of hard to do anything with.

This last little platinum blonde wig is one I’ve had for a long time. It’s just a no-name wig and was actually long enough to hit the floor even on my Nyssa doll. I trimmed it off and straightened it as it had a bit of wave to it. I think Bailey looks pretty cute in it too.

I hope you enjoyed that! And you know I have to ask… do you have a favorite?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a fun post!! So many cute styles, so many different colors!!

My favorites? The first one (JoJo?) kind of reddish–even though I’m not a fan of the “cut with a hacksaw” hair cut look, this one is really cute on her. It looks like a little girl who’s never had her hair cut yet, so it has just grown out as it’s grown out, with hair at different lengths.

Also, the Hannah (flip) is darling; I also love the two little bobs (the shortened blonde Hannah and the other [reddish] one). The little blonde one (from ebay at a good price) with a braid in the side is adorable for a little girl. I like the combed-out sausage curls, too, but I do think it suits Janie more than Bailey.

I think I need to buy some wigs for my girls now!! This is just way too fun!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing all the wigs on Bailey. It was fun for me to see them on her too…I didn’t realize I’d have so many to choose from…it’s wonderful when different dolls can share wigs!!
      Thanks, Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Bailey is definitely a “peaches and cream” girl:)
She looks so good in the reddish shades. I really like the short bobs on her.
The Kana Wild is from JPop, and I think the long blond straight one with the bangs is Monique Yuri.
So happy for you with your new little Dumpling to enjoy!

    1. Hi Shara, I like the reddish toned wigs kn her too, but that little blonde one is really cute in person on her.
The long blonde one isn’t a Yuri wig, but it kind of looks like one. It’s some mid acrylic j had that was probably 10″ long. I’ll have to see if I can’t find the original picture of Nyssa in it.
I like it much better since I shortened it and straightened it.
She really is fun to pose…don’t you just love the way she was sitting for her pictures?
      Thanks Shara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Wonderful wig display. I can’t make a favorite choice. Might depend on the outfit. I’ve been looking at that Laura Ex wig and wondering if it is possible to undo the braids around the head and what it might look like without them. Can you tell if it might be possible to take them out? And Janie’s wig with the sausage curls? Does it have a name? And if it is not synthetic mohair what is the composition? I really like that one too.
Very good news to hear that the kitchen may come back into play. I’m trying to decide where to start on a future remodel around here. Pinterest has so many great photos.
    Don’t work too hard.

    1. Hi Joy,
I actually have 2 Laura EX wigs and this one is the newest one…I think maybe I’ll try to undo the braid on the other one and see what happens…
The sausage curls wig does have a tag in it…Bell Ceramics…made in Phillipines…size 7-8.
I know it was very cheap…but it’s pretty nice and very thick… I guess it’s like an acrylic…maybe I’ll take a close up picture of it for you. It’s not a frizzy type fiber but not super slick either… kind of like a matte or dull synthetic mohair.
Pinterest is wonderful for kitchen ideas…
Hope you figure out what you want…did the house sell? I forgot to ask…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. My favorite is the JoJo and it looks so cute on Bailey. I really haven’t done anything in the wig department with my dolls. I’m searching for wigs for my Lolla, for when I get her, and my two rescue dolls. I’ve never been one for messing with hairstyles or hair colors myself, and even when I had my hair dyed it was to the same color as original. A personality quirk I guess. But I am thinking about changing the look of my Magalie LD, Fallon. She has one of the very curly wigs, which I chose, but I’m thinking I’d rather have something smoother and maybe shorter for her. Also I don’t like the way it looks around her face. Too austere. I think something like the Sassy would be more to her and my liking. Even being long I like the way it hangs.

For 25 years I had a 1945 kitchen, and it wasn’t because I’m into retro. I couldn’t seem to get it moved to the top of the priority list. There was no room for a dishwasher because the base cabinets were not deep enough and I didn’t want to be tripping over a portable because the kitchen configuration would put it right in the walkway, so I didn’t have a dishwasher. Remodeling the kitchen is what I did with my accident settlement. It wasn’t much, but it got the job done. But I’m still missing my vent hood cover, which hubby built but can’t seem to get around to doing the staining and finishing. Since he is an expert at that, I’m not allowed to even think about doing it, so I wait, and wait. My son finally finished the painting of the one wall and got the molding back up. He’s going to try to motivate his dad to finish the vent hood by working with him on it. I think David just gets overwhelmed by the things he takes on and loses motivation before a project is completed. It’s not because he’s getting older, he’s always bitten off more than he can chew. I can’t leave projects unfinished. He just puts it out of his mind and moves on.

Thanks for the wig fashion show. There are so many cute wigs out there, it’s going to be hard to choose when I decide to buy.

    1. Hi Barbara,
You’d like the synthetic mohair wigs…they are silky and soft and swingy on the dolls. The Sassy wigs are especially fun for the dolls. I might trim my Sassy wigs just a bit. They come to a point in the back and I personally like the hair cut straight across.
My kitchen remodel was a long time coming…14 years to be exact…but I’m itching to get it finished…it won’t take too much more..it’s already functional so it’s easy to put things off…I too, am waiting for a range hood…
Maybe we’ll both get them at the same time!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I have looked at these wigs and looked at these wigs, and wondered what I liked best, but always kept changing my mind! Well, here goes, Jeanne, what I am thinking at the moment. First Jeanne, I do like Bailey in the red wigs best of all. The first one is so cute with her whimsical little face, and the Kana Wild wig is another favorite, but in the third illustration, with the braids piled on top of her head. So cute!
I do think wispy, curly bangs look the best on her too, not the blunt straight across bangs, or the no bang look.
Unlike the Little Darling dolls, Bailey is more of a character doll, and can pull off some of the hairstyles that other dolls can’t.

That is a cute little dress she is wearing! Did she come with that?

It is looking like a fairly decent day today, so I am off to get some shopping done, while I can and before the rain and flooding start!

    1. Hi Linda,
I like Bailey in the reddish toned wigs too. Her skin tone is honey so that might be more of a peachy color rather than the fair or sunkissed.

The little dress is by Boneks. It came on Noel, my 10″ Boneka doll. It’s a bit short on Bailey but it looked pretty cute on her so I used it. Since she was sitting it didn’t matter so much…

It is beautiful here too. Rebecca and her dad are giving Teuben a haircut…my part will be his face when they get done…George does the body, Becca does the legs and I do his face… :o,)
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Well I definitely I think Bailey looks cute in everything… I can’t wait for my Bailey to get here.
The little dress your Bailey is wearing is adorable. I love these dumplings even if they are a little bit wiggly. At least for me! I put some short rubber coated wire pieces in my Patti, and it really works for me.
Love reading your dolly posts. Thank you, Jeanne

    Judi

    1. Hi Judi,
I love my little Dumpling too. She is much easier to pose sitting down…her little dress is a Boneka…
Thank you for your kind compliments.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dear Jeanne, I love her best in the red JoJo wig. I see her as a redhead.
I like your Tibetan wig. It looks like the Ellowyne Rose wig.
Well, you know what tomorrow is…May 1! Yeaaaaa!
No more snow for months and months. I am doing a happy dance around the Maypole.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Well. It finally made it to May 1st…you were right…it came!! I wish we could have a party….and you know what? I’d put you in charge of decorating the Maypole!!! Yessirree!

Dance to your hearts content cause there won’t be any more snow for a while!!!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Well…that was sure fun!
I liked your Lambs wool wig and the Doris wig the best….the 2 are so different but she looks cute in both!
The dress is Boneka? It’s darling. Your AG collection must be green with envy since Bailey is getting all the recent attention! Can’t wait to see what wig and dress she gets next!

    1. Hi Kathie,
It’s so hard when you get a new doll to go back to the others and sew for them…I can’t devote ALL my time to the My Meadows dolls, but it sure would be fun!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. So cute! I will have to agree with Kathie; I like the red Doris wig and the lamb’s wool one the best. Those two look so much more appropriate for a little girl. But, of course, it all depends on what look you are going for. What a nice bonus to have so many wigs already that will fit her!

    1. Hi Carolyn,
It was quite the surprise to me that so many of my wigs fit her…I kept reading that the Dumplings took a size 8-9 wig, but then I read somewhere that Bailey’s head was slightly smaller… I was hoping that was right.
      Thanks forctakingvtime to comment, Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. I’ve been looking at these on and off when I’ve been near the computer. I think I prefer the longer, less formal styles. Bailey doesn’t look overly formal to me. It will be fun to develop her style. She poses so beautifully with all those joints. She can wear the Boneka dress and pose for you while she waits her turn. She’s probably safest sitting. It will be interesting to see what tights do to her ability to pose. I think you are really going to enjoy this doll.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I think I enjoy her a little too much… she’s the only doll I want to sew for right now… The Meadow dolls are SO hot right now and it seems strange to NOT sew for her, but I know not everyone has her so that presents a problem… but it would be fun to just sew outfit after outfit for her…
I don’t know if I could pick a favorite wig myself or not… they are all pretty sweet on her…
      Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Jeanne;
Thanks for the wig show! At first I couldn’t figure out how you got the 7/8 wig on Bailey. Then I remembered that she now in a smaller size.
It’s so hard for me to look at a picture and try to decide what will look good on my dolls. My favorite ones are JoJo and almost ant platinum blonde wigs look great with their face color. Sassy is the one I hope to find for my doll.

    1. Hi Vera,
I’m glad you enjoyed Bailey’s wig session! We had a lot of fun trying them all on.
I have that Sassy wig in a Brown-black color and she can wear it too. The Sassy is a very pretty wig…I hope you find one…
      Thanks for writing,
      Blessings, Jeanne
