~ Bubbly in Blue ~ for Bailey AND Patsy now listed on Ebay…

I was concerned that I wasn’t going to get the dress listed on Ebay when I saw the way my day was going…(remember I said I didn’t think I had anything on my Friday “to do” list and was hoping the day would be mine for “dolly-ing?”

My daughter, Rebecca, wanted me to look at quilts/bed spreads/comforters online with her…(she doesn’t even have a new bed yet) but she was determined to have me help her spot the perfect one this morning. I was the good mom and sat with her and looked and oohed and ahhhed… but in the end, she was “just looking.” *sigh*

Next, I did my dishes from last night… I was bad and went to bed with dishes in my sink… it wasn’t too bad, but I was itching to get in my sewing room and get those pictures taken….

I just sat down at my sewing machine, and checked my phone one last time before I began taking pictures… when I heard this faint call of my name… “Honey… honey…” I found my hubby at the top of the stairs in the attic, and he asked me if I could come up for just a little bit… (SURE)
Upstairs he was moving stuff off of a piece of carpet about 8 x 10′ that we had for Kristoffer when he lived up there. Now mind you we have beds, chairs, suitcases, walkers, crutches, all my shipping boxes, dressers, planters, Christmas boxes, etc all along the walls, WHERE the carpet was… you get the idea… it was LOTS of stuff that had to be moved… He said he wanted to take out that carpeting and just have the plywood floor… SO, I helped him pull and tug and move and sweep and roll and vacuum again… It was a real mess…for about 2 hours and then we got it all put back and the floor was nice and clean…as far as plywood can be clean… Then that was all… He was done…I don’t know where that came from, but I guess it was on his list…

So I went back to my sewing room and took my pictures and thought things were moving along when I made it to the computer and started to download my pictures… when all of a sudden he came around the corner and had a plastic bag in his hand… that means he has done too much and his stoma has started leaking, so I had to stop again and change his pouch … By now was almost 5:00…and I was frantically thinking… dinner…what can I have…THAT’S QUICK? I found a frozen pizza that we could have, so I added a salad and some cottage cheese and made it look like it was fancier than it really was. After we ate, I scrambled back to the computer and HOPED I had time to get the girls dress listed…

WELL…I did it… I had to take a few pictures over but I managed to seclude myself in my sewing room long enough to get Bailey and Patsy’s extra pictures taken and THEN I got the set listed on Ebay. I did put a Buy It Now on the set, along with the starting price, so I hope it’s still there when you see this post Saturday morning.

You can see Bailey/Patsy’s dress listed on Ebay by clicking on the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE to be taken directly to Ebay…

I had hoped to get some pictures of the dolls wearing the dress taken outside, but it was super windy today and I really didn’t want to see Bailey OR Patsy do a face plant in the grass…especially after just painting Bailey’s face. :o( So we stayed inside and just frolicked around the cedar chest, trying to come up with some cute shots… I dug out a few tea cups and a pitcher… Bailey kind of has rubbery legs… I mean, she has so many articulated joints in them, she can topple over at the drop of a hat. So it’s actually best if she’s sitting or standing next to something for support. I’ll get the hang of her eventually.

So here are some pictures we took… I hope you enjoy them… and I hope you have a wonderful Saturday. My brother is coming in this evening so I’ll be busy playing Suzie Homemaker…and trying to figure out something fun for breakfast for him. :o)

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. So, you had one of “those” days, Jeanne! It happens to all of us, but you certainly DID get a lot accomplished, just that it wasn’t exactly what you had in mind! We all understand, I’m sure!

Bailey looks so winsome in her photo shoots! I love the one with her laying on the trunk! It certainly shows her personality and playfulness! Patsy, in contrast, looks very serious! The dress fits them both well, but isn’t one doll taller than the other?

You mentioned your brother coming, and needed a good recipe for breakfast. I guess he is already there, and you have it all planned, but when our son comes from Denver, I usually make an egg casserole, and it is just perfect! It’s easy to put together the night before and you just pop it in the oven the day you eat it. You can also refrigerate the leftovers, and reheat in the microwave. I could send you a recipe, in case you would like to make it sometime for a breakfast or brunch.

Wow, wasn’t yesterday a windy one? Pollen flying all over the place and those doggone helicopters twirling all over the yard, and gutters! At least we are moving right along and soon we can start planting our flowers!

  2. Busy Jeanne! Hope you have a bit of time to enjoy the visit with your brother. But, I suppose there will be a lot to do.
Great photos of Bailey and Patsy! You’ll have to keep an eye on those two when they get together. 🙂
Taking a load to Goodwill this morning. Hopefully, there will be some time to cut/pull more weeds before the wind kicks up and I start sneezing.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. I’ve had many of those days when “my” plans for the day ended up getting in the way of someone else’s plans for my day. After I took early retirement I was excited to have my days to do things I always wanted to do. I’d be in the middle of something and David, who owned a construction-related business back then, would call for a phone number and then call back in a few minutes telling me I needed to go such and such a place and pick something up for him that he needed the next day. Since David has joined our boys in the A/C business, I do have some days that are totally mine, but they usually end up being catch-up days for something I needed to do but didn’t because I didn’t want interruptions. And thanks to Google and my husband’s smart phone, he finds what he needs himself and picks it up on his way home or sends one of the boys for it. Yay!!

My former music teacher has been divorced for 30 years. She never remarried and has no children. Her life is totally her own and she never could understand why I couldn’t do what I wanted when I wanted. But to me her life seems very lonely. She’s near my age and her parents have passed away as well as her only sibling. I think of this whenever I get irritated because someone thinks my time is at their discretion.

So Patsy and Bailey do wear the same clothes well. So I can make more clothes for my Sofie and when Lolla arrives she will immediately have something to wear. Or I can make outfits for Lolla using Sofie as my model. Great! I love the blue outfit and the poses in the pictures are great. Bailey has such a winsome expression. I love it. I’d love to have a Bailey, but I had already made my down payment on Lolla when I saw Bailey was available again – probably for the last time. I couldn’t do two Meadow dolls. But Lolla is a cutie and I can’t wait till she arrives.

Enjoy your visit with your brother. He sounds like a wonderful and caring man.

We are about to lose our beautiful spring weather here. While the temperatures will be about the same, low 80s, next week our humidity is picking up. Huge difference between 82 at 50% and 82 at 90%. But thankfully it’s not in the 90s yet. But it’s coming too soon. I’m sure of that.

    Have a good weekend.

    1. So just a comment on Patsy/Bailey. Bailey has a large tush, so as long as the waist is high, the outfits work. If it is at the waist, you must allow for the expanding fanny below. And some pants work, if they can stretch over the lower girth. And Bailey is an inch taller, so you must add length in pant legs and dresses too. I’m sure Jeanne can explain it better. 🙂

  4. The ensemble is darling as are the pictures and poses. I’d be interested in seeing that Quake Wax applied behind the knee joints of Bailey to hold her steady. Love her happy smile which makes me smile, too. You are entirely too busy for me to ever catch up with you. Wears me out just reading about your escapades, Jeanne. Have a nice visit with your brother.

  5. Way to recover everything you wanted to for the day! Both girls look like the dress was made just for them. The poses you took with the tea set( my favorite) and on the trunk make the job posing her worthwhile.
Enjoy your brothers visit….I know your Mom will love it.

I realized tonight that I missed reading your blog last night as I usually do. Not surprising, though–I was having some computer issues, which distracted me, and then I found out that a dear friend–since 9th grade–died yesterday. She’d had several bouts of cancer, and I knew she was in ICU the past few days, so not a total surprise, but still, it can throw one.

Anyway, it sounds like you had a pretty full day, what with all the “side issues” that had to be dealt with! It happens to us all, I’m sure. I certainly understand the stoma issue–for six months (a few years back) my husband had a colostomy. Thankfully, it was reversed later, but it did give us the occasional challenge, also!!

Both your girls look cute in that blue outfit, but I think it truly is Bailey’s color! It’s just wonderful on her! I love her poses with the tiny tea set and her teddy bear, too.

Hope you have a good visit with your brother! Like Linda D., I also have a couple of good breakfast casserole recipes, if you’re interested! Hm, maybe there will be a post out of this subject, some day when you haven’t had time to sew…..

Today was the work party at church. We’re a small congregation, but we had 11 there in all, and got several “big” jobs done–both stoves/ovens cleaned (plus the two wall ovens, but those are self-cleaning, so I’m not sure that those really Count! LOL) plus the inside of the fridge/freezer; also work on one of the sump pumps, yard work, etc. We enjoyed lunch together, then Ron and I came home as he was hurting, and my shoulder and foot were both getting pretty uncomfortable. (I injured my shoulder two months ago, and my foot on Easter Sunday.)
