Well, it’s all Charlotte’s fault if you don’t like pink on Ten Ping… She said she hoped Ten Ping was going to be up soon and just a reminder… “Ten Ping told her (on several occasions) she liked PINK!” Soooo… I had to make Charlotte’s wish come true and lo and behold, I looked at my list and unbelievably, Ten Ping WAS next on the list. I try not to look ahead to see who is coming up so I don’t get distracted on what I’m working on at the moment!
Side bar…
I finished Patsy’s dress and even took pictures of Trixie in the dress AND Elin. It was too windy outside to get any picture but I took a few more since it was daylight and I think you can tell the new pictures. I took a few more pictures of Elin just to show she didn’t look too sleepy anymore. The listing is on Ebay and you can see it by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
Here are just a few more pictures of Patsy, Trixie and Elin…
Okay, back to Ten Ping… I don’t have very much done on her dress, but it’s a start at least. I have to admit, since she got back from Lana Dobb’s, her coloring is wonderful with pinks… before it was mostly good with peachy colors!
So here she is… all 8 inches of her sweetness modeling her bodice and sleeves… I’ve got to figure out how to fix her mohair wig. I took her teeny tiny braids out…
Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh…!!! Ten Ping is SO excited!!! She love-love-loves that fabric, and is absolutely sure that She will be the one to wind up with whatever it is that “Aunty Jeanne” is making!!
I actually rather like the wig like that on your Ten Ping. It reminds me of the semi-bouffant styles we wore back in the late 50s and late 60s (before/after the ridiculously huge bouffant hairdos were all the rage in the early 60s). I suppose it Is rather a lot of hair for such a tiny doll, though. Good luck with whatever you’ll do to “tame” it a bit! I have zero talent for hair, so I don’t usually do much with my dolls’ hairdos unless I absolutely Have to. I always say, there’s a reason God gave me a boy instead of a girl!! LOL He knew I would be a dud in the hair department!
Hi Charlotte
I wish I could have seen your reaction this morning when you saw that Ten Ping was going to be up next…AND in pink!!!
The mohair wig is thick and kind of hard to do things with. I might have to put the braids back in and pull them up with a bow…we’ll see.
Thanks Charlotte
Blessings, Jeanne
Ten Ping looks wonderful in pink now! Lana’s talents are famous ? such a pretty shade.. can’t wait to see it completed!
I know that you mean about “thinking ahead”!
I’m knitting a light tan sweater for Sienna Wiggs right now and I’m thinking about Palette “Sky” aqua blue yarn and a lovely white handkerchief Irish Linen with the same Blue windowpane pattern that will become dresses for Sienna and big Stella Lowe:)
Trying to finish the tan quickly donit can go into my sweater stash for a future outfit:)
Hi Shars,
I’m hoping to get some time on Ten Pings dress when I finish with comments. I’m anxious to see the sleeves finished…when they’re done the dress will be practically half done! :o)
Oh I wish I knew how to knit more than a few rows of just straight stitches…I think it would be very relaxing to do…
I hope you finish the tan one so you can move onto the sky blue one…that sounds beautiful!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Here’s another gorgeous work of yours, Jeanne. Wouldn’t it be fun to be your neighbor, pop in every so often and see you busy in your sewing room? And then, perhaps have a cup of tea together? Well, we have the next best thing with you with your blog. Thank you so much taking time and precious energy to write to us many days of the year. I’m always cheered by your posts.
Blessings.
Hi Becky,
It would be fun to be neighbors and encourage each other in what we were doing… I could show you my latest doll dress and you could show me how to can veggies. I could help you chase sheep and you could pick out my next dolls dress fabric. Or we just sit in my gazebo and drink lemonade and chat!
Thanks Becky

Love that pattern you are using for Ten Ping. I don’t believe I’ve seen it in her size before. Will the sleeve bands be 1/4 inch or less or larger? Ten Ping has such tiny little arms. Either way, she is lovely in pink and her new dress so pretty.
I think you’ll be happy to hear that Haviland’s slightly new Jeanne dress has arrived, and it fits her perfectly. Maybe putting Patsy/Trixie/Elin’s dress on the Meadow facebook page would be a good idea as it looks like a good fit for the Dumplings. Has your Meadow girl arrived? Hope so.
We’re heading to our sierra cabin tomorrow on a rescue mission. Only three hours up and three hours back plus breaks. Have to locate oldest grands little sheep buddy who disappeared somewhere under a bed and was left behind in the cold cabin. He is devastated. Should be a fun adventure with hopefully a happy ending. And we’ll get to stop at Ikea in Sacramento and use a $15.00 freebie and a free lunch coupon from other person’s birthday. 🙂 Bringing the snowshoes because the snow is up to the eaves of the cabin.
Hi Joy,
The pattern for Ten Pings dresscsme from Rosemary Ionker’s book, Fashions for small dolls. I used the 8″ size. I’m going to try and make the cuffs as narrow as I can…
I’ll feel more comfortable saying one of my dresses fits the Meadow dolls when I actually h as vejne in hand. No. She hasn’t arrived yet. I love the Bailey painted by Pathy Biero. Her Bailey is named Marguerite and she is beautiful to me!! She used water color pencils and I love her soft and real look! I was thinking of using my chalk pastels but I am a little curious about the pencils…hmmm
Have fun on your rescue trip…what good grandparents you are! Also have fun on your “date” in Sacramento!!!

Patsy, Trixie and Elian look ever so ready for the Easter Bunny to visit! Such a breath of fresh air to wash those winter blues away!
My first impression of Ten Ping without the braids, was she was a lookalike for Jackie Kennedy, with her bouffant hairdo! Such a sweet pink for her, and I’m sure we all can’t wait to see what is coming next for her.
Thinking ahead is one thing, but my problem is overthinking! It takes me forever to make my mind up on most everything, but once I make up my mind it is solidly made up!
Hi Linda,
I’m right there with you in washing those winter blues away!!
Thanks for your compliments on my girls wearing the dress. I can’t let Elin and Trixie see my listing on Ebay or they’ll be asking me why they dont have as many pictures as Patsy does!!
I have that same problem with making up my mind…especially fabric choices…for each doll. But last night I picked out Ten Ping’s pink without too much thought. The prints have to be so little for her, it really narrows things down.
Blessings, Jeanne
Who is Trixie? She’s a new one to me. Really cute. The outfit looks great on all three and they do seem to have different personalities. Ten Ping is the sweetest little doll and she always looks so cute in whatever you make for her. I love the fabric. Would have been perfect to solve my dilemma (see below).
I can relate to Linda D’s decision-making dilemma. This is my first Easter to have a Wellie Wisher. I decided that Camille and my 18″ MA, Gracie, should have sister dresses for Easter. Kathy at Farmcookies does her patterns in the three sizes I usually need: 18″, LD and Wellie Wisher, so finding a pattern was fairly easy. The hard part was choosing which one, they are all lovely. Then for the choice of fabric. The difference in the size of the dolls is significant enough to be a problem, and I wanted something predominantly pink because I had some deep pink lace I wanted for the trim. It took me forever to find something that was good for both Gracie and Camille – in pink. When I found it I was so excited. The fabric is perfect. I was going to use a white fabric along with it, but the background of the fabric is off-white. I found my off-white batiste and it was perfect. It took me all afternoon to make my decisions, while Jane Tonner was waiting impatiently for me to do the next step on her dress. Can’t wait to finish Jane’s and get started on the other two.
The weather here has been warm, humid and gloomy. I’ve had my A/C on since Saturday. Bad storms predicted for tomorrow morning and then sunny and cooler by the end of the week. Time to mow the lawn again.
Hi Barbara
Trixie us another Tober Tonner doll with the same body as Patsy, only she has pretty bendable arms. I love how she can hold things.
Your story about choosing fabrics sounds so familiar…I’ve been there so many times!!!
Mowing the grass…it sounds wonderful to me, but not so much to my hubby. He’s out working in the garage…with a coat and sock cap on.
Thanks Barbara,
Blessings, Jeanne
Ten Ping is such a cutie and she’ll be adorable in that lovely pink material. Didn’t you have her facial paint touched up? I’m thinking you did and her coloring looks great in pinks.
Boy, you’re moving right along with outfits. They’re all wonderful!
Any news in your kitchen renovations?
Hi Paula
Yes, Lana Dobbs, one of Dianna Effner’s trained doll artists repainted her for me. She was kind of orangish before but now she has much prettier skin!
I was just running my hand over my primed cabinet facings, thinking about painting them…one of these days I’ll surprise myself and wake up and start!!
Thanks Paula,
Blessings, Jeanne
Easter will come and whoever wins this set will be so ready! It is such a good example of how everything you do goes together so well! A complete outfit! The hat and jacket couldn’t be cuter!
I’m fascinated by the way Ten pings bodice is made. The sleeves and side are all one piece! Amazing! The little bows on your lining fabric are so good with the dress fabric! She does look better with her pink toned skin. Have fun putting on her finishing touches!
Didn’t know you ordered a Meadow….they are so freaky cute!
Thank you Kathie,
I’ve taken this dress set off the girls and have it set aside for the winner. They are wondering where it went and who is that tiny little girl with the pink dress down on the cutting table…
The pattern is in the book, Fashions for small dolls. I’ve been working this afternoon and evening on it…
Yes, back in August I ordered Bailey and she should arrive any day now. Of course I still have to paint her face when she gets here. I can’t wait…
Thanks Kathie,
Blessings, Jeanne
