As much as Patsy didn’t want to, she reluctantly took off her new Easter-to-be dress and let Elin try it on for some pictures. They both look pretty cute in it, although Elin looks a bit sleepy in my pictures. She actually looks like she has dark circles under her eyes. Maybe she’s just been in a coma since it’s been so long since she modeled.
I made a sash that attaches in back with Velcro for Patsy’s dress. It’s about the same width as her chin strap on the bonnet.
She also had a new pair of thigh high’s made in a pretty pink with hearts design.
The jacket definitely took the most time to do all that embellishing…making it up as I went along.
It even goes around to the back. The edge of the jacket is a machine applique/blanket stitch.
Here it is with the bonnet… sweet, huh?
Patsy’s pretty good at diving into the Dolly Toy box and finding just what she wants…this time it is a pink bunny rabbit. She hasn’t thought of a name for her yet.
So there you have it…The dress and sash, the jacket, the bonnet, the thigh highs and the bunny rabbit. We also discussed it and Patsy said we were definitely going to send an Easter treat to the winner of this one.
BUT WAIT… here’s Elin…forgive my pictures, they aren’t the best and I was in a hurry and didn’t get the jacket pulled down on her shoulders…ugh! Bad me…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
That outfit is adorable, and I like the tiny check as a counterpoint for the floral print. Also, I just love the embroidery on the jacket. I think you outdid yourself this time, Jeanne!!!!
Perhaps Patsy could name the bunny “Rosy”? (as in, rose/pink)
(Ten Ping asked me to please remind you that Her favorite color is pink! I think someone is a little jealous!! LOL)
HI Charlotte,
I love using microcheck fabrics with other fabrics to accent them. I need to buy some more colors of it.
Rosy sounds like a perfect name for her bunny! Thanks,
Yes, I know… Ten Ping likes pink…she’s coming up on the list in a little bit… I’ll have to remember that!
Thanks Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, so pretty, Jeanne! Patsy is so lucky to be the inspiration for this darling outfit, and to be able to model it. You certainly did outdo yourself with the embroidery on the jacket! What a treat to behold to see the whole outfit together! You have perfectly balanced the pink and blue, and I love the touches of blue and white gingham!
Elin DOES look a bit sleepy! Maybe she is still getting used to DST, like we all are!!
Thank you Linda,
Patsy is pretty excited about modeling this one… I think she’s forgotten if it sells, she’ll have to give it up.
We were going to head up to St. Louis today… Rebecca is still looking at furniture pieces, but so many antique stores are closed on Monday, so we might come up on Saturday… ???
I might go outside and see about taking some pictures to see if I can get Elin to Look Alive!
:o)
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Wow, the jacket is so pretty. Love how the embroidery runs around to the back and how the vine stitching ties it all together.
Getting up an hour early this morning allowed me to view clear skies and stars! It will be so wonderful to have warmer weather and no rain. Can’t believe I said that. 🙂
HI Joy,
Thanks for your kind compliments on Patsy’s jacket! I wished I had moved the embroidery over just a quarter of an inch… but it’s too late now….unless I added more! :o(
I’m glad you had clear skies… I’m ready for warmer, clearer, drier, weather too! :o)
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Absolutely beautiful outfit! I love it all, but the jacket is precious. I used to do a lot of hand embroidery until I got my embroidery machine. They’re coming up with designs that will do most anything now and I’ve gotten lazy. Well maybe not lazy, but it is faster. But I will always love the look of hand embroidery. The winner of this outfit will be one lucky dolly.
HI Barbara,
I have an embroidery machine too, and used to do lots on it, but haven’t lately… I like the therapy of doing it by hand on doll clothes.
Thanks for your kind words… I hope this one sell… .things have been a little off for me lately! I think everyone is watching their pennies! :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, a pink and blue cuteness! I bet there was some fighting to get the dress away from Patsy. Elin looks adorable but I admit that I am biased (smile).
Hi Dorothy,
I’m a little biased too…it was made for Patsy so it has my heart when I see her in it!!
Thanks so much
Blessings, Jeanne
Patsy new dress is just precious. I love the little bonnet and the jacket with all the ribbon embroidery is just darling. Patsy is prepared, whether Easter is warm or cold. I love ribbon embroidery, did a lot on homemade dresses my daughter had. Need to make some on some doll clothes sometime as they can wear them forever.
It’s good you made a list of who gets sewn for next. that way no one feels forgotten.
Enjoying seeing your spring dress creations because I’m certainly anxious for spring to arrive. This week is planning the garden time.
Thank you Laura,
I’m anxious for Spring to get here too… I think I sew better when its prettier outside!
I love doing silk ribbon embroidery as I guess you do.
Thanks for your sweet compliments on Patsy’s dress set.
Blessings, Jeanne
We were supposed to get snow today but mostly we’ve had sun. We’ll probably wake up to white tomorrow.
Patsy’s new outfit is perfect for the season, and the jacket is exactly right for Easter. I agree that Rosy is a lovely name for her bunny. I think this is the time of year when sales are slow. Maybe Samantha’s dress should be “Easter Comes Early.” It would be so pretty for Easter. Someone is going to realize that.
Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your thoughts about my dresses…
I’m glad you mentioned what you did…
I hope the sun shines bright tomorrow for you and the snow passes over.
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
