I’m sorry I didn’t get your comments answered yesterday… I read them all later in the evening, but my day was full with “momma” things and I just didn’t have time to answer. Thanks for all your sweet comments on the dress and I’m glad you can see the differences in what I did. I still had to make ONE final adjustment on the “middle” button on the left side as you look at Kirsten. I kept thinking something was still wrong and then I realized THAT button was moved away from the lace a little bit more than the others were… so I moved it in just a bit… Some of my pictures are from yesterday so it isn’t fixed in all the pictures, but you can spot it when it’s right! :o)
I was hoping to get the dress listed on Ebay Monday evening, but that didn’t happen. We did however decide on how to take some pictures. My sister, Cindy, texted me and thought Kirsten needed a teapot. Well, Kirsten must have read that text because the next thing I knew, Kirsten said she wanted to look for a new teapot for Mama for Mother’s Day. So I got out all the teapots I could find; big ones, little ones and in between sized ones and put them on a little chest. Kirsten already told me she wanted to keep all the teapots so they won’t be included with the dress set, but she said she thought the winner would like some Easter chocolates just as well! I totally agreed with her! :o)
So here are a few pictures we took this afternoon…
First…that stray button on the left middle side…
…and here it is fixed…
I know it’s not much, but I hope tomorrow is a better day for dolly play! :o)
See you then,
Blessings, Jeanne
I can’t say as I blame Kirsten for wanting to keep ALL the teapots–they are realy cute!! This way, even though she will ultimately have to relinquish her pretty dress to the new owner, at least she can serve tea to her dolly friends!
I do see where you adjusted that button placement; looks much better now!!
Thanks Charlotte,
Maybe I could find another tea pot for Kirsten to actually give away… I’ll keep an eye out for one. Otherwise, it’s chocolate…which is a good option too! :o)
I’m glad you could tell the difference about the button.
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, you are simply a perfectionist! I do see what you did with the button, but sometimes it is the angle of the picture when you see something, so you don’t realize any imperfections. That dress is just beautiful, and very worthy of a special tea party!
I actually have the one teapot in the back row without a lid. It was a part of my daughter’s tea set from the 70’s! That was a genius suggestion from Cindy to include teapots, and it certainly makes Kirsten seem very grown up and helpful to her mother, like all good daughters should be!
HI Linda,
Sometimes I wish the AG dolls could sit down in chairs…it would make having a tea party so much easier… I don’t have a table the right height for a tea party and standing seems so weird!
Thanks for your sweet compliments on the dress… now to get it listed. It’s awfully pretty outside… I’d love to take some outdoor pictures… maybe I’ll try.
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
I didn’t think about the AG’s not being able to sit nicely at a small table when I suggested a tea party. Forgot that they do not have bendy legs. But, I really like Cindy’s teapot shopping idea. Very clever.
What does Informed Delivery say about your doll? Where is she stuck? I read that at least one is still stuck in Chicago customs with no movement in days. 🙁
HI Joy,
I just signed up for the Informed Mail delivery… maybe she’ll come tomorrow. :o)
That’s pretty neat. .I just saw a picture of what we received today… thanks!!!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Great! I love it because then I can plan a sneak attack to divert other person from seeing all of the mail. 🙂 I’ve also noticed since I signed up that all of the mail shows up. Prior, things seemed to disappear. Like my Joann’s flyer. And I’m watching for Mae who is due on Thursday.
Looks like everything is lining up for the listing. Kirsten looks so sweet.
Glad to say that it appears the other house will be heading into escrow and closing soon. Happy but sad for other person who has to step away from the house where his parents lived since 1947. 🙁
HI Joy,
Happy that the house is soon going to be sold… but sad for your better half knowing that he’ll never visit it again… it’s hard to let go of things like that. My sister Deb, had the hardest time with selling momma’s house last August. She was the one who was there the longest… lots of memories for her. I hope things go smoothly till closing time.
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
(Still no Bailey box for me!) :o(
About a table for a party: Cut a round oatmeal box in half sideways and drape it with fabric or use a metal tin propped underneath to the right height. It will look just like my tables from Felicity and a Lemonade Set wicker one when it has a floor-length solid color tablecloth and another shorter lacy one over it. No need to even hem the tablecloths. The rather expensive AG tables didn’t even show. Alternatively, ask George if has any ideas and he might make one or two for you in different sizes. No need to finish or paint them. I’ll send along pictures of mine dressed up for Christmas, Valentines Day and Halloween.
The little chest is darling as is the beautiful dress and apron.
Hi Susette,
You have made quite a few table settings for your girls haven’t you? I might have to share your pictures… I’ve got to figure out a new place to take my pictures. I don’t have enough room on my cutting table because the dresser has that raised area on the ends… it makes it kind of hard to set up in between the raised parts.
Thanks for the inspirational pics! Glad you like Kirsten’s dress.
Blessings, Jeanne
What a cute dress.
Of course, I LOVE the teapot idea!
Dolls and Afternoon Tea, pure bliss in my world.
HI Dorothy,
I thought you might like tea time… I hope you had a cup in honor of getting this dress set listed! :o)
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Lovely idea of Cindy’s to have Kirsten giving Mama a new teapot for Mother’s Day. Is the little teapot without a lid Holly Hobbie? If so, I had that set as well.
There are many ways to make a table with just some plywood or old boxes. As Susette said, once a cloth is on it, you can’t tell.
Kirsten’s dress is just beautiful and I see where you changed the button. Now everything is perfect.
HI Laura,
Yes, the lidless teapot is a Holly Hobbie one. I need more room for set ups… guess I’ll have to keep working at figuring out someway to make room for bigger props. I need a sewing room and then a prop set up room! :o) A girl can dream… :o)
Thanks for your kind words about Kirsten’s dress.
Blessings, Jeanne
