YAY! Caroline’s dress sold off Etsy! Thank you dear buyer!
I was busy today, trying to get enough done on Patsy’s dress to make a first impression on you! Did it work? She’s a good little model and her legs are still holding from that rubber band trick (HERE) that I used to tighten up her legs.
This is probably my favorite lightweight fabric of all time. I took 2 close up pictures so you could see it clearly. It just might be a dimity fabric, as it’s only 35″ wide and has tiny little ribs in it. You can’t actually feel the ribs but you CAN see them.
This is the basic dress, so far… you know there’ll be more, but for now, the dress is finished, the snaps are sewn on, the lace at the hem, and the handwork for finishing off the inside is done.
The rest should go pretty smoothly.
I have a few things laid out to tease you… but I bet you can put two and two together and figure out some of it. Although, I was thinking of trying something new with one of those items… maybe… :o)
So if you want some more of Patsy… how about this? That seller who sold the taupe and cream dress I showed you the other day, bought a few things from me in the past, and is selling a couple more dresses. I thought since one of them was a “Patsy” dress, why not show it and if you like, you might get it while you are waiting for THIS current dress to be finished. :o)
Now, here’s something very interesting… I checked the date on when I listed this very dress and it was EXACTLY 2 years ago today! The 6th! Isn’t that weird that I found that picture and featured it today before I even knew about the date?
I’ll show you the link below and then I’ll show you “my” original pictures of the dress. It looks like the buyer took care of the set.

Here are my pictures…
She also has a fun Wellie Wisher dress for sale… or it can fit the Maru Mini Pals dolls (14 1/2″) Here is the link to that dress and then my pictures…
Purple dress for Wellie Wishers or Mini Maru Pals
Here are my pictures of it on Willa…
Well, I hope that’s enough eye candy for today!
See you tomorrow,

Hi Jeanne,
First of all, yes, that is definitely dimity–the ribs are the tell-tale sign! Dimity Always has those tiny ribs. I do love dimity, it’s so summery and pretty!! I am thinking we have a little jacket and a decorated hat coming for Patsy! Love the pink you’ve chosen for the accessories.
I love that other little Patsy dress, also–the print is especially dainty and pretty! The dainty lace edging just sets it off so nicely.
I remember the Wellie Wishers dress! Of course, purple Is my favorite color, so it figures! I remember those cute little figurines you posed her with, also.
I seem to have a bit more range of motion in my right arm tonight, but am not totally comofortable yet. I’ve been icing my shoulder and taking ibuprofen, so perhaps it’s at least helping the swelling go down.
Hi Charlotte,
I thought it was dimity, but wasn’t positive. I love how daintyis looks and especially how it feels…just like a kleenex.
I just wanted to show my pictures of those dresses again…AND help out a fellow seller at the same time!
I’m glad your shoulder is responding to the ice and ibupropen… you’ll be back sewing in no time.
Thanks Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
What a trip down memory lane you are giving me, Jeanne! That pretty material in pink and blue is almost exactly like the material I used to make my daughter an Easter dress, maybe 40 years ago! (can it be THAT long?) I don’t recall it having those little “ribs”, but the print is very much like what I used, maybe it had a touch of lavender too. So pretty and spring like! Patsy is going to look like a precious little Easter delicacy in that darling outfit! Is she going to have a little pink jacket? Ant a pink hat too, what a treat!
Well, um, guess what? I am the LUCKY buyer of the taupe and cream Jeanne Marie dress!!! I have yet to get it, supposed to come tomorrow, but I am absolutely THRILLED that I will now own my very first Jeanne Marie outfit! And even the little bear is included!!! So we are keeping it in the “family” so to speak!!
Hi Linda,
Who knows? Since it’s vintage dimity, it could be the EXACT same fabric you made for your daughter. Wouldn’t that be wild?
Oh, I can’t believe you won that taupe dress.
How fun for you and I hope you like it…I’m guessing Betsy will be the recipient?
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Yes, little Betsy is getting the new dress and jacket, and she is thrilled!
Your work is a marvel, Jeanne. Patsy is so cute in that pretty dimity.
So glad that Linda D won the taupe/cream dress in the “family”. Very cool. It would be great if the other two ended up in the extended “family” also, wouldn’t it? Having a “I Dream of Jeanne Marie” original is surely a treat. Your work is a treasure.
Blessings
Thank you very much, Becky,
I appreciate your kind compliments.
It’s fun for me to know my work “lives on!”
Blessings, Jeanne
I love the lilac fabric for Willa’s dress and I now have a Willa that I’m keeping for Anna’s 4th birthday — she was 3 two days ago and thinks she’s the biggest, smartest, oldest girl in the world. She has a new Barbie that she can practice doll care on and if necessary I can keep Willa for another year.
Congratulations to Linda on her new Jeanne Marie outfit. I’m looking forward to a picture of it on its new owner.
The new coral dress is very pretty — I like it a lot. I have a blue one that’s quite similar. Do you have a picture of it?
My computer is up again — 2 days in a row. That’s amazing. I’m cleaning up my files to get ready to transfer the necessary ones to the new computer that I have yet to see or buy. My nephew tells me the “blue screen of death” could show up at any moment.
Now to go look at the posts I missed while I can.
Marilyn’s back!!! All is well!!!
Welcome back and hope your computer problems are coming to an end.
I think I know which blue dress you are referring to…I might have to show a picture of it…
I hope the blue screen of death stays away until you can catch up on some missed posts!!
Welcome back,
Blessings, Jeanne
Patsy’s dress is so springy. The hat/jacket to come are a perfect match too. Your photos of probably my favorite Patsy dress bring back such fond memories. Love that dress and the purple Willa one too.
Congrats to Linda on Caroline’s dress. I can just picture one of her girls wearing it to a tea party. Fun.
And lastly, glad to hear Charlotte’s arm may be on the mend. Hope so.
Could not believe that we had yet another huge dropping of rain last night. Not helping with the river flooding and clean up at all. Hope everyone else stays warm and dry.
Hi Joy,
I did like that blue and cream dress with the dainty lace and pintucks. It was one of my favorites for Patsy too.
Actually Linda didn’t buy Caroline’s regency dress, but the little taupe and cream one I showed on Lian the other day. I’m sure Betsy is going to get to wear it.
I hope the rain stops soon! Don’t want you to wash away!
Blessings, Jeanne
Patsy’s dress is perfect on her. When you add the felt accessories they always look so complete and finished and this one with the hat will be so freaky cute!
Now if we could just get the weather to match we would all be happier. Forecast for the weekend is rain followed by more snow. That will put a crust on the snow and byMonday we can probably walk on top of it. The 6th weekend in a row of snow storms. Ugh
Your springy dress is a wonderful distraction.
Thank you Kathie,
I hope I can get Patsy’s dress finished pretty quickly!
Maybe the snow will stay away…I probably should make a coat for Patsy…just in case jacket isn’t enough for Easter morning!
Thanks Kathie,
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, I love the purple in the Wellie Wisher Dress.
Patsy’s new dress looks so cute. She will be the Queen of the Easter Parade.
Hi Dorothy,
Maybe I should make Patsy a pink flag to lead the parade!
Thank you,
Blessings, Jeanne
Congratulations on the sale of Caroline’s dress. Some lucky doll now has a beautiful Easter/Spring/Summer ensemble.
Patsy’s new dress is going to be so pretty and spring-like. The fabric is lovely and so sweet looking. I can’t wait to see it all finished. Of course, living where you do, she will need a spring jacket. Growing up in PA we always had Easter coats. I miss that. Here you generally don’t need a spring coat, but when Easter falls early and the fronts are still coming through with the cold wind, you might need a winter one.
I love the simplicity of Patsy’s dress. I tend to go the way of lace and ribbon for Easter but I do love seeing little girls in simple frocks with a nice sash or simple embellishment. I made Sophie a very simple dress just letting the fabric carry the day. I made a felt jacket for it and it turned out very nice. I thought she could wear that for Easter but it wasn’t made as an “Easter dress” so I lost that argument. Or maybe it’s that I bought a new pattern I’m dying to try out and found the perfect fabric.
I love the Wellie Wisher dress that is up for sale. The fabric is so beautiful. I would go for it, but, aside from the fact that I love to sew, I really need to use up some of the fabric I have, so I leave the things already made for those who don’t sew. My only exception is any doll under 10″ tall. That sewing I usually leave to someone else.
I hardly recognized Willa for her beautiful hairdo. My new Wellie Wisher, Camille, finally has more than the clothes on her back. She now has the cutest pair of blue jeans with coordinating pockets and back pocket flaps (Skinny Utility Pants from Pixie Faire), and a shirt that matches the pockets (School Bell Blouse from Pixie Faire). Now onto an Easter dress for her. I counted this morning and I have six Easter dresses that need to be made. That means I have acquired five new family members this year, since my 18″ Gracie hasn’t had a new Easter dress in years and I promised her one before she got a passel of new relatives all needing new Easter wearing attire. She’s holding me to my promise. But I love the creating that goes into the Easter dresses, so I’m anxious to get started.
Beautiful day here today but my allergies have been giving me fits. More rain heading our way next week. We probably won’t get a drop all summer.
Hi Barbara,
I haven’t totally decided how I’m going to embellish her dress yet, but I’ll figure it out.
If it stays as cold as it has been around here lately, she’ll need that coat instead of a skimpy felt jacket.
I really liked the size of the Wellie Wishers, but they just weren’t big money makers for me..so she got the boot.
I hope you get all those dresses made for your girls.
Blessings, Jeanne
I remember both of those sweet dresses. Patsy’s new dress to be is off to a lovely start. I see she will be getting a darling hat and a little jacket or perhaps a short cape. I saw caroline’s dress sold… wonderful.
So glad to see Marilyn has returned and congratulations to Linda as the proud recipient of a Jeanne Marie original.
I was quite cold today, but the sun was shining. I enjoyed getting out in the fresh air.
Hi Laura,
Thank you for your sweet compliments on Patsy’s dress. I hope to get it finished soon.
I didn’t get anything done on it today…:o(
Yes, Caroline’s dress sold and I was very happy! I hope the new owner will be when she sees it on her doll.
It was good to see Marilyn back AND know that Lian’s former dress is going to Linda. :o)
We were cold here too…Spring come quickly!
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
