I’m still trying to recuperate from all the things I had going on around Christmas, and FORTUNATELY, as so often happens, a few ladies sent me some pictures to share… They are all bright and cheery and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them. My sister, Deb and her hubby are coming Saturday, as is my brother, Bob and his family, AND possibly my sister, Cindy and her hubby might be coming too… My mom’s 84th birthday is Sunday and I’ve been doing a few things around my house, so it was wonderful to have something to share without having to do too much! I’ll get back to the sewing as soon as I can… and I’ll get something started for my first model of the year SOON!
Okay, first up is Dorothy’s Little Darlings in new dresses. She found their dresses from a seller on Ebay and their stockings came from Martha Boers, costume designer and photographer, extraordinaire, who writes the blog, Antique Lilac… Charlotte Noelle is on the left and Selah is on the right… Aren’t they beautiful? If you click on the picture of these 2 girls it will enlarge and you can see just how beautiful these girls are up close!
Next.. when I showed my little red tractor…
…Linda sent me these pictures of her table settings for Christmas. I think it’s perfect and would be have been great at my house… The lantern came from Pier One… Love it Linda! She said she had cups and dessert plates too, but they weren’t on the table when she took the picture.
Joy has some fun pictures of her 11″ Meadow Doll Dumplings and 6″ Twinkles…
I hope I get the story straight… Romy, the tiny little blonde in the bob, was worried that the letters they all wrote to Santa wouldn’t make it to the North Pole so they flew there to deliver them personally!
Also Joy sent a picture of her granddaughter, Landry, who received Willa, a Wellie Wishers doll, from grandma Joy! It looks like grandma got this one right!!! Just look at that smile!
…and Linda was worried that she had sent too many pictures and said I didn’t need to share them, but sorry, Linda… they are just too beautiful not too… They are from the Botanical Gardens, in St. Louis, 2 days after Christmas. She said it was a rainy day but they enjoyed the Train/Flower show anyway. The first one is a replica of Henry Shaw’s house…
Linda said the poinsettias were bigger than dinner plates and they even had ORANGE ones… beautiful, aren’t they?
Thank you, to everyone who shared pictures with me…
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
What wonderful pictures!! Thanks, everyone, for sharing!! I enjoyed each and every one!
Hi Charlotte,
The pictures were a nice start to the day, weren’t they?
Glad you enjoyed them!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh boy, pictures, Jeanne! I love tt see what others do and have and am happy to share mine, but I DO send too many!
Dorothy’s Little Darlings, are just that, little darlings! I love the pretty blue dresses, and they look so sweet standing there with their stockings! Love them!
Joy’s dollies are just adorable and always put a smile on my face! What imagination she has in posing them. Love the picture of them on the flying bear! And that picture of Landry is just adorable! I can’t figure out who has the biggest smile, Landry or Willa! That’s a beautiful tree in the background too!
The flower/train show is always a beautiful sight, and we enjoyed going! Thank you for showing the pictures!
In my haste to get going this morning, I forgot to say a big “Happy Birthday” to your sweet mother! Enjoy the party and cherish those family moments!
Hi Linda,
All I have to say is keep your pictures coming!! I knew everyone would enjoy them!!
Love that picture of Dorothy’s Little Darlings too…they are beautiful dolls!!
I forgot to mention Joy’s tree too. It makes the perfect background for those 2 sweet
” dolls!!! ”
Thanks so much Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
What a wonderful set of pictures. They go together so well — the colors and the subjects harmonize. I loved Linda’s pictures of the botanical gardens. They show up so well in this large size — I could feel the dry air here getting more humid — it was close to feeling like I was there.
You need to find some of those plates, Jeanne. It would be great to have them ready for next year.
Dorothy’s dolls are beautiful. Their stockings are perfect — they harmonize but are different from each other, and having one hold hers in her right hand and the other in her left makes them look almost as real as Landry, and what a beautiful tree she’s standing next to. Joy, that tree deserves a photo of its own.
The pictures of the My Meadow dolls ought to go on the My Meadows website and on all the related blogs. The clothes, the mailbox, the flying bear, the poses, the attitudes, the fire truck — I’d say this is as good as it gets, but then Joy would just come up with something equally charming. She will anyway, and we’ll love it.
Two of my LD’s need new wigs. Dorothy, if you see this, would you tell me where you found yours? The ones that came with one of my dolls are just too big, though the dolls themselves are perfect.
Hi Marilyn,
I was trying to think of a title for this post and knew I had to use the word bright in it.. I thought they worked well together too.
I should have said the link to Martha’s website will open if you click on the words Antique Lilac… they are slightly a different color, but not real obvious… it is worth a look at her pictures!! Talk about eye candy!!
Joy has had those pictures on the My Meadow Fan Club site and everyone loved them…
I’m glad to ou enjoyed the pictures Marilyn!
Blessings, Jeanne
Dorthy’s little girls in matching dresses are adorable. Very cute little stockings as well. I’m sure they received a bunch of fun gifts from Santa. Such good little girls.
Love Linda’s tablescape! Those little birds with the winter caps are too cute and the plates go perfectly with the theme. Really enjoyed seeing the botanical garden and the great train display. All those tiny buildings decorated for Xmas are amazing.
The crazy Meadow kids here had a wonderful Christmas. Romy and the Twinkles took off for the North Pole on a polar bear to deliver mail directly to Santa. Upon their return, their message from Santa was that Christmas was for giving not receiving, so they organized a trip to the fire station to deliver gifts for the Toys 4 Kids giveaway drive. I haven’t checked on them this morning yet to see what they are planning. They always keep me on my toes. 🙂
And I too definitely sent too many photos. I just get carried away sometimes.
Thank you Jeanne for sharing the pictures. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Thanks for your contributions to the post today, Joy! Loved seeing Landry and her new Willa. I bet they are great pals already! ;o)
I don’t think ANYONE on here ever gets tired of too many photos! It’s a give and receive kind of thing going on all the time.
I’m glad you told the rest of the story about the Twinkles going to the fire station! That was so kind of them! I’ve been seeing a few Giggi’s pop up on the Meadow Fan Club and I must say, I have to just scroll down to not be tempted… I’ve seen 2 now that could easily have landed in my cart! Yikes!
Deb and Mike just got here and I’m planning on going over to momma’s in a bit!
Thanks Joy,
blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, what wonderful photos!
I love Linda’s tractor theme plates. Tractors are such a part of Christmases from long ago and work nicely as themes today.
One cannot have too many photos of Christmas in a botanical garden. The little town is delightful. I love the skating pond.
Joy’s children are adorable. I love that they want to hand deliver their Christmas letters. That way they can be sure that Santa received them.
The photo of Joy’s granddaughter is so cute. Yeaaa, another young doll collector! Joy, some UFDC chapters have Junior Collector groups. Maybe there is one near you.
Charlotte Noelle and Selah were delighted to see their photograph. They ran to the TV to see if they were on that screen also. I told them that they were on the computer screen which is not connected to the TV. Silly Girls! Martha, who made the stockings is a member of my Iplehouse online Doll Club. She is a marvelous photographer. Jeanne has provided the link to her blog, Antique Lilac.
Marilyn, thanks for the comments about how the girls are holding their stockings. Selah is left handed. About the wigs, Charlotte Noelle’s wig was on her when she arrived last year. I don’t know what it is. Selah’s wig was one that the artist who painted her braided for me. I don’t what it is either. There is a woman in my local UFDC doll club who sells wigs and she will be able to help you. Let Jeanne know if you would like to have my email address. I will be happy to put you in touch with my friend.
HI Dorothy,
I think the skating pond/rink was my favorite picture too…I love miniature things…no matter they are…shampoo, candies, dolls, props, and villages! :o)
I should have done Martha’s link like (HERE) instead of just highlighting it. I did check and I’ve had 6 clicks to check it out… maybe more will look at it tonight.
I will be happy to send your email address to Marilyn if she wants…
Your girls are so girlie and sweet… I just love them in that picture. Their dresses are so pretty!
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Loved seeing all the pictures from everyone! How fun to see everything. The dolls, the decorations and the flowers- love those buildings nestled in and around the plants. Joy’s dollies are adorable. And it’s too cute how the polar bear is helping the girls deliver letters to Santa. What a cutie grand daughter- – love her name- Landry.
Enjoy the family coming and Happy Birthday to your Mom.
Thanks so much Paula,
I’m glad everyone enjoys seeing each others pictures. It’s always fun to see what everyone is up to.
I am enjoying my family,
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
I love seeing everyone’s pictures. Joy sure has a large Meadow doll family. They are all so cute and I love her scenario! I love the scenes with the trains. I grew up in Bethlehem, PA. One year for Mother’s Day my dad took us to Roadside America in Shartlesville to see the miniature villages and trains. My dad loved miniature trains and had a set he put up under our tree each year. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. So many train sets and villages depicting all areas of the U.S. Many years later we drove up to see my mother and took our children and my nephew to see it. I was blown away. It was far bigger than it was when I was a child and even more amazing.
I took some pictures of my Christmas village and will send them soon. It covers my dining table with two leaves in it so it was hard to figure out how to take the pictures to best show it. Then the streetlamps I bought for my village park keep going out even though the batteries are still good, so I’m trying to see if I can get a good night picture of the park with the lamps lit.
This is probably too late for anyone to read but loved all the pictures and that sweet granddaughter of Joy’s has the cutest smile ever. You should send that picture to AG to mount in their office in case they forget how much their dolls mean to little girls. The St Louis Botannical gardens were outstanding….peach poinsettias were amazing.
Thanks Jeanne for sharing!
