Well, this is going to be a dud of a post today! I only have one picture and it’s not even of a doll dress that’s finished… Navi got the skirt attached on her new Christmas dress, but that was it. It’s not even hemmed and there definitely aren’t any snaps sewn on the back.
I did sit down with my hubby, and some popcorn, and watch a movie he picked out… The Christmas Shoes, with Rob Lowe. I’ve seen it several times before, but I always cry my eyes out… and I did tonight… I think he did too, a little, but don’t tell him I told you! :o)
My day has been consumed with all the details of our Married Couples Party tonight (Thursday) and there was no time for much else. My hubby and I did go into the church basement and set up the tables and chairs and there are some things already decorated. That was a big time saver doing that today instead of tomorrow…
Now I just have to get ALL the stuff off my dining room table and off 2 card tables, and don’t forget the punch and the ice. The chicken has to be cooked, and taken, and the scalloped potatoes too. I have to gather up my nutcrackers for something we are doing with them, and I can’t forget to get a shower and wash my hair…
Oh dear, does anyone have anything I could wear??? :o)
See you tomorrow when all this will be a memory!
Blessings, Jeanne
I think Navi is a bit sad that you didn’t get more done on her dress today, but at least you did get the skirt on, so her undies no longer show! It’s going to be a really sweet dress, I think.
Don’t worry about the post, or lack of pictures; we (those of us who have followed you for a while) know that tomorrow night (or the next one) there will be some great pictures of your couples dinner, and we’ll all wish we lived close enough to attend! Your couples dinners always look like such fun!
Oh Jeanne, don’t worry about just one darling little picture! Navi will have her new dress in no time, and things will go much smoother once you get the party out of the way. I hope you enjoyed it!
That was a good idea to sit and relax and spend time with George watching a Christmas movie! What’s not to like? After the year you had, you realize it is times like that that make all the difference in the world, and you should appreciate them so much more..
Oh, the “what to wear” thing! Funny, how, when we are young, what to wear is foremost in our minds, but as the years go on, it gets pushed in the background, until almost the last minute! I haven’t given a thought as to what I am wearing for Christmas, but I remember when a pretty new Christmas dress was the most exciting thing ever!
“Dud of a post”..LOL.. you are so funny ?
Our dolly fo complain, but in the end, they are happy to model our outfits:)
Have fun tonight with the party !
It’s going to be a wonderful party and the best part will be waking up tomorrow knowing that you’ve managed again, and being terribly grateful for the work you got done in advance. The pictures will make us feel like we were there — except that we’ll be getting hungry looking and you’ll be done with being hungry.
The dress is going to be so cute and right now there’s someone on your Meadows blog wishing her doll had a new Christmas dress, and by Saturday there will be one posted. It’s a beautiful print and a perfect color for Navi, who is hoping even now that you won’t have time to get it quite finished.
Linda was talking about new Christmas dresses. Years ago we were still outgrowing clothes. Now it’s such a pleasure to be able to get into last year’s dress that new doesn’t matter. Ask Rebecca what to wear. Either she’ll have a good answer, or you’ll say to yourself, “Oh, I’d rather wear _____.” Either way, you’ll be set.
Oh, little Navi is so cute in that dress. And she’s standing on the new couch! I’ll bet she was jumping up and down when your back was turned. 🙂 Love the dress and so do the three Twinkles peeking over my shoulder.
I wondered what food you were going to be making for the dinner tonight. Chicken, scalloped potatoes, and punch. Sounds good to me. As for what to wear, go simple and enjoy. Dark jeans, black tee, and a red sweater sounds good to me. Add a necklace of your choice and you’re set.
Hope you have a moment to snap a photo tonight and can enjoy the evening too.
Navi’s dress will make it for Christmas if I know you. I agree with the others, taking time out to watch a movie with hubby is a nice idea for both of you. Yes, that movie is a tear jerker.
I hope you have fun tonight at the couples party. The food sounds great and the festive atmosphere among all of you will add to the holiday season. Enjoy!
Navi has got to be so freaky cute!her little dress is just what she needs. I almost spit my coffee out laughing when Joy said she thought Navi would be jumping on the couch when you weren’t looking!
Haven’t been here much..had my knee replaced a week ago today! Glad that first week is over and my family is getting the award of the year because they all chipped in and made food…helped wrap, cleaned, did dishes…My daughter Michelle, the teacher, was in charge and she made a sign for the front door that says “when you come in please go to the sink and wash your hands” she isn’t allowing any germs in here! Love it when your kids are the parent.
Hope the couples party is yummy and fun…I know it will be! Take lots of pics
Dear Jeanne, you will get it all done. You always do!
Navi is adorable. The color is wonderful on her.
I join the others, please do post photos. We will sit on the sofa and share tea and look at your slides. Now, that will be big fun. Lemon anyone?
