For Sale: Amanda ~ Tuesday’s Child Boneka/Effner Doll

PLEASE NOTE: Don’t forget my brown eyed Essential Ellowyne doll ends tonight (Tuesday). You can see her by clicking the bottom picture of her at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I have ABSOLUTELY GOT TO SELL a few more dolls and was hoping to sell some of them on my blog, but since things are still messed up with ladies not getting their posts for up to 4 days, I’m having to be fair about it and list them on Ebay… I figure by the time someone DOES see the post, they still have time to bid on the doll on Ebay before it ends.

Today I am showing you Amanda, a 10″ Boneka, Tuesday’s Child doll, sculpted by Dianna Effner, and the beautiful embroidered dress is by Rosemarie Ionker, from Germany. Boneka Fashions is Rosemarie’s company. Amanda is like my Noel, only a different edition.
I bought Amanda from a lady who said she was flawless and she was right. There was no certificate of authenticity and no sleeping bag. I will package her very well to make sure she arrives at the winners home in perfect condition.

I was debating about keeping Amanda, as she is exquisite, but I decided I already had Noel and she models for me just fine. Amanda’s coloring is much better than Noel’s and her face is flawless. She has pretty blue eyes and a peaches and cream complexion. She is very beautiful!

Her wig is a curly red and is mohair. It isn’t glued on all the way… just lightly tacked in a few places, and could easily be changed. I saw a Tuesday’s Child Boneka doll one time with a long curly blonde wig and I was obsessed with that dolls look. I’m thinking a more modern wig might be just what Amanda needs to give her a little more pizazz. But she is beautiful just as she is.

Here is that doll… I still had her picture saved… *sigh*

Here is another one I was pining for…

Her limbs are tight and I’m pretty sure she had never been undressed until I just did it a little while ago. There are no marks on her body or limbs. She has one leg that is slightly bent and one that is straight, so it causes Amanda (and the other Boneka dolls; even Noel) to stand slightly crooked from the hips. It’s just they way they are sculpted. If you look at her arm seams you can see they are different too. What I’m trying to say is she is asymmetrical and slightly different from side to side. If you just pose her with one foot forward that usually helps.

Here is Amanda…

…and this is my Noel… it might be easier to see on her. I should have pulled down Amanda’s panties when I had her undressed.

Her dress is made by Boneka, a company ran by Rosemarie Ionker, in Germany. It has the prettiest hand embroidered flowers on the front of her white apron. The dress is a coral color and is very sweet with a slip attached underneath. A pair of panties comes with the set too.

I noticed there were loops on the side of the coral dress and there must have been a ribbon run through it. I will do my best to find a ribbon and add it.

Amanda wears a pair of white leather shoes, Boneka too, and white socks.

I’m going to start the Auction at $200 and if it goes to $275 or higher, I will make Amanda a new dress set(my choice) to be sent along with her. Here’s one more look at her! They tend to go quite high on Ebay… usually $350-$395 and all the way up to $1864.00 for one that was repainted by an artist.

So let’s see what happens…

I hope you enjoyed seeing Amanda.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Wow, Jeanne, she is absolutely exquisite! I hope you do very well with her auction, I can certainly see why you are reluctant to part with her, though!

I still have to take pictures of my Boneka (Nyla) in the things I’ve made for her, but I promise to do so soon. Did you get the ones I sent you about the Halloween lunch at that neat burger place? Let me know if not, and I’ll resend them.

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
Amana really, really is an adorable little doll. I have had her wrapped in bubble wrap and every once in a while I have to unwrap her and see if she is as pretty as she was the last time I looked at her. She always is!!

Yes, I did get your pictures….thanks for sending them…what a fun place…I’m going to share them one of these days!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Wow — I was able to reach the blog early this morning — a lovely change. Some people are getting it 4 days late? I’m glad I’m this lucky.
Amanda is a darling and I’m so glad you kept her dress. It’s perfect for her. I hope she attracts lots of bids because I want to see the dress you’d make for her. Someone is going to be very fortunate.
It’s been awhile since some of Rosemarie Ionker’s books came out. For those who may have missed them, here’s a link to the first one https://smile.amazon.com/Closetful-Doll-Clothes-Creative-Crafters/dp/094262047X/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542108892&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=rosemary+ionker She stays pretty much in the style Amanda is wearing instead of moving from period to period, as Jeanne does. Differences make it fun to see work from different designers.

So, Jeanne, who is up next for a new dress? Is it time for the first Christmas dress? I’m ready if you are.

    1. HI Marilyn,
Yay for small victories like getting my blog post on the correct day!!!
I’d like to make her something new to wear too, so I’m hoping the bidding goes higher too!!
Maybe a pretty Christmas dress is in order!!

I have Fashions for Small Dolls and love that book…Rosemary certainly knows her stuff when it comes to pretty little doll fashions. The styles are kind of old fashioned to me….right up my alley!

I’m going to decide today who will be next up…I was looking in my Christmas fabric’s trying to get an idea of what I like best…
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessongs, Jeanne

  3. How fitting to have Tuesday’s child highlighted on a Tuesday, Jeanne! She is really a cute little doll, and is so much like a Little Darling, facewise! Gee, that is strange how she is molded so that her legs and hips are not symmetrical. I wonder if each doll for the day of the week is molded differently for interest if they are all lined up? I’m sure they need a stand, if they are expected to stand up! All my dolls have a stand, and I never have them sit for any length of time, except for pictures, since it weakens the strings, thus making them go “floppy’ sooner than they should.

Yes, I can’t wait to see what you decide on for a Christmas outfit and for who! If you are into discussions on AGPT, they are currently having discussions on those JoJo bows. They are huge bows for the hair, much like they wore in the 20’s and 30’s. That would be something cute for a Christmas dress, well, to accent a Christmas dress!
Stay warm and snow is comingagainat the end of the week, although yesterday’s much touted snow turned out to be just a dusting.

    1. HI Linda,
Yes, I thought that was pretty interesting that today was Tuesday and my “Tuesday” girl made her debut in a post! She does look like a Little Darling… it’s nice that Dianna made them that way… easily sisters to the Little Darlings. :o)
There are only Monday’s Child, Tuesday’s Child and Thursday’s Child dolls… maybe someday there might be more, but for now, these little cuties are pretty popular. I usually keep Noel in a stand as she has the same wonky legs. or sometimes she’s laying down.

I have been in my room looking at my Christmas fabrics, trying to decide who is going to be next. No decisions yet. :o(
We are trying to stay warm but it’s pretty pretty pretty cold outside… it hasn’t gotten out of the teens today as far as the wind chill factor goes. Mostly stayed around 15 or 16 degrees all day. Tomorrow night is when it’s really supposed to be cold and the chance of that snow or sleet is in the forecast. I’m trying to get as much done tomorrow as I can for the week. Taking my mom some Christmas ornaments… she got out her little tree today.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. What a beautiful doll! I think the outfit she is wearing is worth the price by itself with the hand embroidery on the apron, shoes, etc. Best of luck with the auction.

The book Marilyn recommends is one I bought when Jeanne originally recommended it. I’ve somehow misplaced it, so I ordered another one at a very reasonable price. It’s wonderful because it has patterns for all of the outfits in different sizes at the back of the book that can be traced and used (please don’t cut them out!). I’m so glad I bought the “Fashions for Small Dolls” book by Rosemarie Ionker when Jeanne first recommended it as the starting price on Amazon is now $64 for the paperback book that also has the patterns. Thanks, Jeanne.

    1. On taking a close look at the gathering of the slip and skirt, what kind of stitch is that? It doesn’t look like ordinary machine stitching even at the loosest stitch. Is there some kind of finishing stitch over the original gathering stitches? Thanks.

      1. HI Susette,
You are so right about the outfits from Rosemarie being worthy of a high price…and sometimes I’ve seen them get that price! She makes and designs lovely little girls dresses. I am like you in LOVING that book Fashions for Small Dolls. I’m so glad I have it as I know the price had taken a hike in recent years.
I took a closer look at the stitching on Amanda’s dress and I believe it’s a serged seam using 4 threads on the serger. It’s such a sweet dress and looks so pretty with her complexion.
        Thanks Susette,
        Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Amanda is very sweet, the long blonde haired doll IS so cute. Good luck with the auction. Linda mentioned AGPT blog, how do I find it? Have a great day.

    1. Dorothy, you can look up AGPT by typing in your search engine “American Girl Playthings.proboards”and it will give you a list to click onto. Just pick the first one, and it will come up for you. Since you are not a member, you can be a guest, and read things, but not be able to comment. It’s been so long since I have been a member, I can’t remember everything you can or can’t do, but if you click onto “Message Board”, then you get a new screen with a list of various threads, choose the one on the extreme right, “Newest Threads”, so you can see what is new there.
Now, I’m not sure if you can even get to the Message Board if you are not a member. I belong to several and some won’t let you even read what members say, others let you read, but not comment. At this stage, for me,I can’t remember the case for AGPT. Maybe others who are members can add to what I have written, ………Marilyn, or Jeanne?
Anyway, just try it and see what you find. Hope that helps!

    2. Hi Dorothy,
Yes, come join AGPT and you are also most welcome on AG Dollhouse. No, you won’t be able to see the message board on AGPT or much else without registering as a member. The only threads you will be able to access are the review ones about the various dolls and other toys.

    3. HI Dorothy,
I’m glad you think Amanda is cute…so do I! And that little blonde one still makes my heart beat a little faster. I see Linda answered your question about AGPT. Good job Linda!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Very sweet Boneka. Hope you have lots of bids.
Schools closed again today around here. Air quality is still in the extremely awful range. It is good that they are considering the health of the teachers as well as the students though and not making them come in to work.
I was thinking about the adorable gold sweater you made for your Twinkle. I think a tutorial on recycling old sweaters into sweet doll outfits would be a lot of fun. Just a thought as we have had very cold weather and frost. Perfect sweater time for the dolly group. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
Boy those fires are really being persistent aren’t they? There was a lot of news about them tonight. It seems like it’s an impossible task to solve! I think it’s good that the kids aren’t in school, I’m sure they are scared and want to be with their parents… I sure would!

I saw that gold sweater in my sewing cabinet again and thought about your request to learn how to make one… I set it aside so I’d remember to maybe do one and show it…
      Thanks Joy and stay safe,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dear Jeanne, she is adorable. I have all of the Boneka day dolls. I do display them and change their wigs and clothing. I keep all of my dolls on stands for display but sometimes I take them off of the stands for picture taking.

I got to meet Rosemarie Ionker at the recent Region 11 convention (UFDC). I felt like I was meeting a legend. I guess I was. Well, let me tell you that legend can dance! The last convention event was a banquet complete with a DJ. He put on some music from the 1960s and 1970s and people jumped up, abandoning their meals, and got to dancing. Rosemarie was one of them. She can really dance!

I am so sorry to hear about what is going on in Joy’s area. I watched more of it on the news last night. I wish we could do something. I guess, for now, we just pray.

    1. Thank you Dorothy,
I’m glad you think Amanda is adorable… I’ll tell you said that! :o)
OH how fun to have all the girls… that must make some pretty pictures when they are all dressed and standing beside each other. *hint* *hint*

Wow… you got to meet Rosemarie in person? I guess that was worth the trip going to that convention!!! I had to laugh at you describing Rosemarie and her dancing. That must have really been a sight to see! I loved that you told us that about her… makes her seem more real to me! :o)
Yes, it’s tragic what all is happening in California right now… and yes, all we can do is pray.
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Oh my, she is beautiful. Her outfit and color are perfect for her.

I wish finances would allow me to purchase her but sadly I can’t. Being on a disabled limited fixed income just sucks sometimes. Like today.

I am sure she will see quickly and if the bid goes higher I can’t wait to see what kind of outfit you come up with for her.

    1. HI Sandra,
Thank you for your sweet compliments on Amanda. She is so pretty and really does deserve to live with someone who will sew for her and cherish her more than being wrapped up in bubble wrap. Ugh!
I know about being out of dolly dollars…it’s awful when you see something you want and you can’t get it. I have been trying like crazy to get Navi paid for… only $31 more dollars to go! Hallelujah!
I was already thinking of what I’d make for Amanda if she does go that high… when she gets close (IF) I’ll start thinking more seriously about it.
      Thanks Sandra,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. What a sweetheart Amanda is. I’ve never seen her before, so you must have always kept her hidden away. Beautiful embroidery on the apron with those bullion roses and lazy daisy stitches.
Stay safe, Joy, so terrible what’s happening with the wildfires. Praying for all the poor people and animals whose lives have been disrupted.
As to who is up next- naturally I’m hoping to see a Civil War gown or perhaps a Victorian frock and I know you will have to make a LD outfit. You’ll have to be a sewing fiend to get it all finished. 🙂

    1. HI Laura,
I haven’t had her that long… maybe I got her in August… and she’s been wrapped up in bubble wrap most of that time… except when I’d take a peek at her to see her sweet face.

I knew you’d like me to pick a Civil War dress and believe it or not, I was actually looking at a 1905 McCall’s Fashion magazine I have and trying to figure out if I had anything I could make for Samantha… Then I was considering making a set of dresses for my Little Darlings… something like a Sister Set… I still haven’t decided yet.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne
