Four Fabrics for Felicity…please help me choose…

I did manage to get Noel’s sweet dress set listed on Ebay Thursday evening. You may have already seen it… if not, you can click on the picture of it at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

Joy asked if it might fit Elin, my 10″ Iplehouse doll, but it was too small on her in the chest area. But the shoes fit perfectly.. I made a note of that for future reference.

I also tried Noel’s dress on 10″ Patsy or Trixie Tonner and she was way too chubby for the dress and her feet were much too large so it didn’t fit her either… It’s just for Noel or any other 10″ Boneka dolls.

I think it’s so adorable, I’ll show you just one more picture of it…

So now it’s Felicity’s turn… I just couldn’t decide so I thought I’d put it out there and see what kind of reaction I got from the four fabrics I picked. I could have chosen 25 fabrics or more from my stash, but I think these would all look pretty on Felicity. Maybe there is a “group favorite” in the bunch though. I sort of gave the fabrics a name… Gold and navy, cream and sage, etc… You can use that to tell me which one you like.

You can either leave a comment below or hit the “contact me” tab just under my header at the top and send me an email…

So here are the four choices. I took a close up and then stepped back just little bit for another shot.

Thanks so much for helping me decide…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Boy, I’m torn. I love the cream and sage on Felicity–really brings out her green eyes, I think–but that burgundy and peach is awfully nice, too, and makes her skin look creamy and accents her hair!

Can’t wait to see what everyone else votes for, and how you end up making it up!

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
It looks like Cream and Sage is the big winner! You got it right first!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh dear, I’m the first today, Jeanne! I always wonder what others are going to think of what I think, because I might be completely missing the mark! I guess I can just say what I think and let the others do the same!

As I scrolled down , looking at each fabric, they seemed so-so to me, and then when I got to the last one, PERFECT! The colors work so well with Felicity’s coloring, her eyes , hair and skin. Plus the pattern itself seemed to fit right in with Felicity’s time. To me, this is a no-brainer, but I certainly will be interested to know what the others think.

    Happy Friday, Jeanne and everyone!!

    1. HI Linda,
Truth be told in person they all look beautiful. It was late last night when I took those pictures and I should have lightened Felicity’s skin before posting them. She looks a little orange in them all…
Maybe next time I can do the burgundy and peach fabric…but for this next dress the Cream and Sage won out…
I haven’t forgotten about sending you the directions to the tea room.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Oh boy! I scrolled down, then up, back down and up again (and a few more times!) Here is what I see– the green leaves of the first fabric REALLY complement the green eyes. The second fabric I’m not feeling it… I see a million owl eyes staring at me. LOL! I love the design of the fourth fabric, although with Felicity’s red mane, I see a sea of orange. My vote has to be for the cream and sage. I love the subtleness of the print while still bringing out the green eyes. That being said, I know that whatever fabric you go with, you will turn it into the perfect choice for Felicity’s dress!

    1. HI Linda,
By overwhelming choice, the cream and sage has been chosen. You are among those who will see the dress made out of your favorite fabric.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. All are very pretty.. but my vote is for #2. It compliments her green eyes and red hair.
#4 is the same color as her curls.. #3 second runner up:) can’t wait to see your new Autumn Splendor!??

I have Bonekas and Meadow Dumplings, the 11” er.. they share many clothes and shoes:) Dumplings have wide tushies .. that’s where they need extra roominess:)

    1. HI Shara,
Unfortunately, the cream and sage fabric was the big winner… maybe next time you’ll see Felicity in one of the other prints…
      Thanks for voting!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Wow you know how to pick the fabrics. I guess I favor cream & sage with burgundy peach coming in 2nd.
Noel’s outfit really came together and looks so beautiful – good luck on the auction.

FYI I sometimes receive your posts in my email. Because of past problems receiving them I had just started typing in your site but over the past couple weeks many times MS edge browser is showing your posts a day late – go figure. So many times my comments would not be timely so I’m enjoying being a “silent” reader instead.

    Have a great weekend

    1. HI Leigh,
I’m sorry your posts aren’t reaching you like they are supposed to. I wish I had the answer to what’s going on.
Well, you were among the ones who picked the winning fabric…the cream and sage! Stay tuned!!
      Thanks Leigh,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Marla,
Thanks for your vote for the cream and sage…YOU and just about everyone else!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Interesting to hear about the clothing fit for Erin, Patsy, and your Boneka Noel. And from Shara that some Boneka clothes fit the Dumplings too. My Dumplings can wear most of the Tonner 10er clothes with the exception of the pant length.
Maybe it’s my screen, but the fabrics are jumping out at me this morning. Too busy and the scale too large except for the sage and cream which I love on Felicity. The fabric appears soft and demur perfect for a young girl. Maybe she needs an everyday dress to gather the eggs before a walk into town to sell them. Not too fancy, not too plain. Simple ribbon or a straw hat to ward off the sun. Just my take.
How are those cabinets coming along? White yet? 🙂
    Weekend nears…

    1. HI Joy,
Noel’s dress was too tight on Patsy and Elin in the bodice… I could have pulled it tight and maybe gotten it to fit Elin, but it wasn’t really a good fit.
I like your storyline and might keep my eyes out for some eggs that she can sell…

I almost got started on painting my cabinets, but finished my curtains instead…soon…I tell you soon…painting will happen.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I think I like the red and green or the cream and sage for Felicity. Definitely not the yellow with her skin. I always like the dresses you make for Felicity, so I’ll be looking forward to this one!

    1. HI Carolyn,
Actually all of the fabrics look pretty nice on her…I think it was my lighting late last night that made some of them less appealing.
But you picked the one that was most popular…so I’ll get on it soon…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Hope everyone is doing well! I like the cream and sage best, too. I have to agree with Joy about the scale of the others. The last one is a really beautiful fabric, but I’d have to use that one on a huge Himstedt doll for that scale to be acceptable. It’s very difficult to buy doll fabric in a world of fabrics scaled for humans. If anyone ever went into business designing and manufacturing commercial fabrics just for different sized collectible dolls, they’d make a fortune! Noel’s little outfit turned out very cute! Best of luck on your auction!! Hugs, Ali

    1. HI Ali,
Thanks for helping me decide on a fabric from the choices I shared. I am always looking for fabrics in the right scale and honestly if you could see these fabrics in person, any of them really would work…
But the cream and sage came out on top so I’ll be making her dress from it…
Thanks Ali, I appreciate your comments.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Need i say how happy I am to see Felicity up next? The cream and sage is my choice for Felicity, hands down. The first two I don’t care for against her and the fourth, though pretty, seems too busy and detracts or competes with her hair, eyes and overall coloring. The cream and sage on the other hand, IMO completes her coppery locks and peridot eyes, showcasing them without being overwhelming.
Did you catch the leaked pictures for a few of the accessories for the next GOTY ‘s on PT? the lamb looks a lot like an updated Posie ( I don’t have her yet as I’ve never seen one in perfect shape in my price range) and the pig is adorable. Those animals would work for any historical doll perfectly.

    1. HI Laura,
I knew you’d be happy to see that Felicity was next up for a dress. Then I knew you’d be thrilled to see that your choice of the cream and sage fabric was the winner.
No, I missed the pictures of the lamb for the new Girl of the Year doll…I haven’t been on AGPT for a long time…I have no idea what’s going n.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. I’m for navy and gold. I think it would be lovely for fall in Virginia. The view from Monticello in fall is spectacular, just like the gold and navy fabric, and with blue ribbons and a white fichu, I think this would be an extraordinary dress, and the design reminds me of the fabrics of the times.
Have you been to the William Paca house in Annapolis? The colors are not the same as those in Williamsburg — they are a little brighter and less subtle. The docents there say that the colonial archaeologists determined that these were the original colors and they believe that brighter colors were more popular. I have no idea, and liked both places.
Fortunately my second favorite would be the cream and sage, which looks like a popular choice. I was quite surprised because I thought the navy and gold would win hands-down. Maybe another time.
I’m so glad I was late instead of early, so I got to read the other choices first. I’ll go with Linda S. on the million owl eyes — once you see the fabric and hear those words, they are permanently linked.

    1. So great to see another take. Early this morning for us in CA, gold/blue was a bit overwhelming, but now hearing it is of the times, perhaps with a lot of navy in trim/jacket to tone it down, it might look pretty on Felicity. I tried holding my hand to eliminate the gray background and it looked a lot more to my liking. Loved seeing your comments Marilyn.

    2. HI Marilyn,
This gold and navy was my first pick…I’ve wanted to make Felicity a dress out of it for a long time…it’s actually prettier than it looks in my pictures…maybe next time I won’t ask…I’ll just make it! :o)
I have never been to Annapolis but I’m glad you shared about the colors from there.
Well, you got the color right on your second choice. Felicity dress this time will be the cream and sage.
I looked at that green circles fabric and didn’t know what colors to describe…I guess “owl eyes” would have worked…it’s too bad because it’s a Windham fabric…really nice. I’ll never be able to look at again without thinking of owl eyes, like you!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Linda,
You guessed the right fabric…it’s cream and sage for Felicity…
      Thanks for helping me decide.
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Dena,
Your vote for the cream and sage fabric and that was the overwhelming choice!! It will be fun to make it with so many people liking it!
      Thanks Dena,
      Blessings. Jeanne

  11. I’m late to the game, but the cream and sage was my first pick also. (Then the gold and navy). I like the pattern proportions of the cream and sage on her. Not that she can’t have dresses out of each of these fabrics… a girl does like to have options.

  12. Same as Christal I am very late to the game. For the first time in over a week I never got a email and usually when I don’t I just check your blog at one point during the day. Was not in the plan the last few days. Not a happy camper this week as I am hooked up to a 24 hours a day/30 day heart monitoring system. I guess they assume that everybody has pockets in their clothing at all time because the monitor is rather large then you have a Wifi unit that must walk around with you. The whole thing is so large it came it on own brief case. Wish I had seen the post.

I did as other’s and scrolled up and down and up and down. I just kept going back to the Burgandy and Dk Peach…a tad busy but I love the pattern and colors. The Gold and Navy is pretty but not against her skin. The other’s just didn’t speak to me but the last one would have gotten my vote. Something different and not so safe I guess.

Love the idea of trying her on all your small dolls. The outfit is beautiful. I can’t wait to see what you have planned for Felicity.

  13. I see that Sandra is writing on the 29th too. There may be a post we can reach later.
One of these days you’ll have a lovely Victorian design and make it in the Owl Eyes fabric, but not mention those words and some of us won’t notice. I’m sure in real life it’s a lovely fabric, just like all of the others. We will all love the sage and cream and I look forward to seeing it become a perfect dress for Felicity.
We had a one day cold snap — well, cool snap — but we’re back to pleasant summer days. This has been the nicest summer weather in years. I wish this weather on everyone else here who is not already having fine weather.
