Doll #62… meet Navi

Well, just to see if you are getting this post on the right day, you should be reading this on Thursday! I just sent Sarah an email telling her it seems like nothing is working and no one is getting the posts like they should be. I hope you will stay with me until this glitch is figured out. If you need to go to a previous post and click on the tab just below the header that says BLOG… it will bring up the latest blog post. Or you can google idreamofjeannemarie.com
Hopefully there has to be a solution to this… I just want it to be normal again.

Wednesday was my Anniversary! My 37th anniversary and I played hooky all day… I just did what I wanted and cooked my hubby a nice dinner. I thank the Lord every day that I get to spend time with my hubby! He truly is a gift to me and I love him very much! I did read your comments and wanted to thank you for all the lovely things you said about Rebecca’s bonnet. In person it’s even prettier. Somehow the lace seems to lay better in person than it shows in my pictures.

I knew I was going to have to share this one of these days, and I decided today was the day… Meet doll #62! Her name is Navi and she’s a “whopping” 6 1/2″ tall! She’s itty bitty and as adorable as they come. She is a doll sculpted by My Meadow dolls… maybe you heard me mention them before? Navi came up on a doll forum and I just couldn’t resist. I had tried to get 2 others but someone beat me to them. I’m glad now as I got this little cutie, painted by April Norton, a Canadian doll artist that’s known world wide. I had no idea when I got her, who April was, but I certainly do now. Her wig was a bit overwhelming when she came, but a few trims here and there and she was able to see much better.

Okay let me show you some pictures of when she arrived…

She was wrapped up in her sleeping bag…

Then she was wrapped up in bubble wrap… look at that carrot red wig…

Just look at those tiny feet…

So here was my first glance at her face…

I had her look straight at me…

Her eyes are glass and can be changed if you want her to have a different color. I’m pretty taken by these pretty blue eyes! Her eyelashes are painted on so they don’t catch on anything…

Like I said, she’s teeny tiny… here she is resting in my hand…

Her body is softly blushed in all the right places and she has the most adorable manicure and pedicure…

Remember the picture I took of Ten Ping sitting in my hand? Well, Navi is 2 inches shorter than Ten Ping…she’s a tiny little thing…

This was how her wig looked when I put it on her the first time… cute, but a bit much…

I tried on a black wig that I have for Ten Ping and it fit Navi pretty well, so Ten Ping decided to do a little photo shoot with her…I think they’ll be great pals.

Okay, so now I’ll show you what she looked like after her hair trimming session…

I know… I know… another doll… but I was absolutely smitten by her… she stole my heart like Lian did a few years back. I will make time for my other dolls and won’t forget about them, but I just wanted to share Navi with you as I was about to burst with excitement.

Friday my hubby has a follow up doctor appointment in St. Louis and a CT Scan. We are going to make it our Anniversary trip and go visit his brother’s (Larry) wife, Gloria, and spend a few days with her. She just moved to a new house and my hubby is going to do a few electrical projects for her in her new house. I’m looking forward to it and have already scoped out the fabric stores in town! I might even find something… but then again, I need to sew up what I’ve got to pay for Navi! :o)

See you soon,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Oh, what a little heartbreaker. I love her. If you want to change her eyes, there is an excellent vendor on eBay -mybayer2008 – shop name pink fantasy. Good prices and free shipping. Astounding colour choice, her blue eyes are lovely though.
You will have to take Navi with you on your trip. Just to keep in mind the right scale for her, when you look at fabric, just look…..
Hoping that George’s follow-up is all good news.
I got this post at the right time, nothing yesterday .
    Jane

    1. HI Jane,
Yes, Navi truly is a little heartbreaker…I think I would have been eartbroken if I had missed out on her.
I’ll make note of the seller of the eyes. I may have a few pair of eyes that my Millie doll wore…and maybe even for Elin… right now I’m pretty taken by her blue eyes.
I’m hoping the blog posts are straightening themselves out…it’s much better today than the comments I received yesterday!!!
      Thank you Jane,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Yay, my blog email came at the proper time tonight!

Oh, Jeanne, I can see why you fell in love with Navi–she’s darling! Can’t wait to see what you make for her!!

    Congratualations!

Hope you have a wonderful trip, and a good visit with family!!

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
Hallelujah, your blog post came as it was supposed to!!! I am thrilled!!!
Navi really is a beautiful little doll. I truly am blessed to have gotten her.
We are frantically packing tonight as we have to get up at 4:00 Friday morning. I’m very much looking forward to visiting with Gloria!!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Yay! My blog came in my email at the right time, and day! Just like old times!!

Oh, little Navi is adorable, and I can’t wait to see what you make for her! She NEEDS something! Surely, it will be a snap for you to make her an outfit, since she is so small and dainty. She and Ten Ping look like besties already! I love her red hair, but the dark one looks good too. I can see why you are so smitten with her, plus she doesn’t take up a lot or room, right? All the more reason to get another doll!

Happy Anniversary to you, Jeanne and George! You certainly have a lot to celebrate now,and I hope you have a wonderful time on your little “anniversary vacation”!

    1. Jeanne, this is several hours later, but when I finished writing the above, and got back to my email, yesterday’s blog came in, around 5:00 or so. It at least I got them after several days with no blog from you.

      1. Linda,
I am so happy to be hearing from everyone today and letting me know that things are looking up! I hope it continues for everyone!!
I think I’ll get faster as I sew for Navi. I always enjoyed sewing for Riley and she was 7 1/2″ tall, so Navi is an inch smaller, but I still enjoy sewing for the smaller dolls. Sometimes it can take almost as much time as the other dolls, but I’ll get faster. I do like to see a tiny little creation…it’s almost like a dainty work of art!!!
When I show you what I make, you’ll see what I mean!
Yes we do have a lot to celebrate…and I plan to do just that!!
        Thank you Linda,
        Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Just got yesterdays post – four and a half hours after I received today’s posting. Your blog wants a sign up for every posting now.
Have a lovely anniversary trip. Forgot to say, how strange to see Ten Ping looking the larger of the two!

    1. Thanks for letting me know how the blog posts are coming to you! Every piece of information is a piece to the puzzle.
      Thanks for the Anniversary wishes!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Hi Jeanne,

Little Navi is cute….a nice companion for Ten Ping.

This posting has not shown up in my e-mail…I just went to your site to find that you had posted one for today-the 6th.

    Blessings.

    1. HI Becky,
I’m hoping your posts get straightened out like so many others have. It’s just being extra quirky for you, I guess. I hope were on the tail end of this nightmare.
Navi and Ten Ping should make cute pictures together!!
      Thanks Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Congrats on your anniversary! Got you by five years. I’m sure the CT/appt. will go well. Hope your visit with Gloria is enjoyable and that you do bring home more fabric. 🙂 You both deserve a fun time get away.
I did receive this post this morning and also yesterday’s. Strange why I did not get any posts yesterday.
Little Navi is such a sweetie. Her coloring is beautiful, and I like her in the red wig best. I wonder where April gets her doll eyes? Perfect color.
    Drive safe

    1. HI Joy,
Just what I need to do….bring home more fabric!!:o) But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!! Right?
George is in the garage right now gathering up the tools he thinks he might need for Gloria’s electrical project…
I’m looking forward to the getaway!!

I like Navi in the red wig best too. ..the pictures of her in the black wig wasn’t very good…my lighting was terrible.
I might ask April where she buys her eyes from…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dear Jeanne, Happy Anniversary! I hope have a wonderful day.

Navi is a cutie. Her eyes are lovely. I am sure she will have a new wardrobe in no time (chuckle). The other dolls might be jealous though.

    1. Thank you Dorothy,
We’re going to celebrate in St Louis on Friday…hopefully we’ll be celebrating not only 37 years of being married, but a clean bill of health in my hubby’s body!!
I have already been getting some “looks” from the other dolls…the “newness” of Navi will pass and all will be well on the dolly shelf!
      Thanks so much, Dorothy
      Blessings, Jesnne

  8. Hi Jeanne,
Number 62 is ADORABLE! I couldn’t stop myself from looking on ebay for a my meadow tiny. I can’t wait to see what you’ll make for her.
I pray all will be good with Georges follow up. Have a fun time celebrating your Anniversary and enjoy your visit with Gloria.
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. I think Navi’s cuteness is catching. Joy was the one who filled me in about the Twinkles, as they are called. Then I got the fever…
      Maybe you’ll catch it too!!
      Thanks so much Ingrid
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I received today’s post today and it came to my inbox. I think you may have the problem fixed.
Your little Nave is really cute. She looks like a little Thumbelina or I expect her to have fairy wings. Guess we all know who will get the next outfit.
Happy Anniversary and enjoy your visit with Gloria.

    1. HI Laura,
I’m so glad things are looking up for the blog posts! I have been waiting for some good news and today I finally got some!!
It’s kind of hard not to want to sew ONLY for her but I’ll resist and keep my other girls in mind…really I will!!
      Thanks for the Anniversary wishes!
      I’m sure we’ll have a great time!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. I had to leave this morning at 9:00 and the new entry didn’t come up for me then, but when I checked at 4:00, here it is. Happy Anniversary! Have a great safe trip and relax if you can. May the doctors’ reports be as good as you want them to be. I hope the fabric stores have just what you want and fabric that is perfect for Navi. Fat quarters are going to be too fat for her — do they sell skinny eighths?

    1. HI Marilyn,
Things are looking up, aren’t they! I am so happy to see mist of you are getting the posts again! A few kinks still to be worked out for some of you, but overall…a good report today!
Thanks for the anniversary wishes! We plan on having a nice time with Gloria!! I also hope to find a new piece of fabric…you know…as a anniversary “momento!”
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Don’t laugh Joy… they DO make skinny eighths… a fat quarter/or fat eighth is a piece of fabric cut 9″ by 21″ (to the fold on the fabric bolt)… a Skinny Eighth is a piece cut 4.5″ x 21″
That’s about all Navi needs… now I’ll have to browse the fat quarters a little more seriously!
        Thanks ladies,
        Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Hi Jeanne I got yesterdays blog today and nothing for today. I updated my profile today so maybe that will fix the problem. I love the bonnet, it is very feminine and really adds that extra flair to your beautiful outfit. Your new little meadow doll is very adorable. I like her best in the red wig–it just brings out her blue eyes. Happy anniversary!!! God has blessed me, like you, with a wondrful husband and best friend. I will keep you both in my prayers and hope all goes well with your doctor visits. Have a great trip. Carole

    1. HI Carole,
Like I mentioned above…still a few kinks to be figured out! I hope tomorrow’s post just like it should.
Thank you for the compliments on the bonnet and Navi. I’m like you, I like her in the red wig…she’s kind of got that peaches and cream complexion, so she looks sweeter in the softer tones..
Thank you for your prayers, Carole…we appreciate them.
It sounds like both our hubby’s are pretty special!!!
      Thank you, Carole,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. I had to go to the blog section to get this post from yesterday. I re- signed up following the instructions but I’m not thinking it’s wirkibg for me.
My goodness Navi is small. It’s surprising to see how big Ten Ping is!!
Enjoy your anniversary trip to see Gloria. Sounds like you are going to hit some fabric stores. Fun!!
