Wednesday I had a giveaway celebrating 4 years of blogging! My hubby drew out 4 names from those who entered. I asked the ones who entered to tell me the doll they would most like to have a slip made for, then I worked all evening and finished making them. Naturally I thought you might like to see them.
Joy just received a new little Twinkles doll from My Meadow and she’s just a tiny bit over 6″ tall. Romey is definitely the tiniest doll I’ve ever made a slip for. I don’t have a Twinkles doll myself, so I used 8″ Ten Ping to model Romey’s slip…it’s a bit tight on Ten Ping’s waist, but it’ll do. I hope Romey likes it, Joy!
Then Marilyn suggested it might be fun to see the tiniest slip with biggest slip. So here’s the slip I made for Sandra…along with Ten Ping again.
Sandra’s slip is my basic white tulle slip. I hope it works for your girls without any fighting! :o)
Shara has a new 18″ My Meadow Saffi that she calls her little Diva. I made her slip with a little bit of sparkle…Saffi has a 9″ waist and I didn’t have a doll with a waist that size, so Elizabeth said she’d just hold it up against her. Hope this fits her personality and isn’t too much bling!
Last up is the slip I made for Leigh. She was hoping for a slip for her Elizabeth doll. I wasn’t sure if her Elizabeth was a doll she used for Colonial times, so I made her slip just a slight bit longer.
The nice thing about my slips with the stretch lace waistband is they can be pulled up for shorter dresses or worn down lower on the hips for longer dresses.
I hope I didn’t spoil the surprise for the winners…
See you soon,
Blessings, Jeanne
What a pretty batch of slips! My favorite fabric is the one you made for Shara’s doll–love the pink/sparkle!!
Now MY girls are clamoring for new slips, too!
All the slips are so pretty and girly. I love them all.
Now I am super excited to receive mine and my girly is going to love it. No fighting in this house they will have to learn how to share. I will post of picture of her wearing her slip so you can see her.
Again, thank you.
Hi Jeanne – Boy you have been busy! All the slips are so lovely and Elizabeth is doing the “Happy Dance” (she must have been watching me when I read I won!) . Thank you so much for your generous give away and congratulations to the other winners.
Wishing you and George a wonderful weekend.
Charlotte is right — how could she not be? The slips are lovely and charming, and I especially like the picture of the largest and smallest slips. Now you’ll have to make one to go with the brown plaid dress, and the one you made for Leigh would work perfectly. Maybe she’ll just have to win the dress to go with her slip.
We had a lovely cool day yesterday with just a little rain. Now I need to mow the lawn before it gets longer. It’s a Farmers’ Market day and the sun is out. Maybe today will be just the weather I need. I hope everyone else gets the same.
It was 96 yesterday and hopefully a bit cooler today. Romey, who was up early this morning and looking over my shoulder started jumping up and down when she saw the slip. I think I heard her mention being a fairy for Halloween or something like that. What a perfect thing for her to wear on a warm day like today too. She will love it. Thank you so much Jeanne.
And, I just checked your Etsy shop. I think you need to get some slips listed. Not that you need anything more to do. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend and keep cool anyone in a hot zone.
Dear Jeanne, what lovely work!
All of the little dollies will be “rock stars” when they put on their new slips. They will require new dresses and of course shoes. Then there is the requisite trip to the hair dresser.
Of course they will require the best table at the best restaurant in town to celebrate. Someone will have to arrange for the limo before the paparazzi arrives. And then “poof,” they are on the town strutting on the red carpet getting ready to join friends for dinner. As they are spinning around, smiling at the cameras and showing off their dresses, I am sure that there will be glimpses of your beautiful slips.
Liz Smith will surely write about the extravaganzas in her Page 6 column in the NY Times. Yep, Jeanne, you have created 4 rock stars in the making. Congratulations to the Mamas. Oh, we better get their autographs now (chuckle).
Jeanne! All of the slips are so beautiful!! Congratulations again to Joy, Sandra, Leigh and lucky Me!!
My “Princess Charlotte “ Saffi will be thrilled with her “royal” slip:)???
Oh my goodness, Jeanne, what a lovely line up of dainty slips! It looks like a ballet program is about to start! I have several o your sweet slips and know that they do the job, and are so pretty on their own. I think that would make a cute dressing room scene!
Whoever is wishing us a nice cool weekend, is sure off the mark! We will be in the high 90’s today, tomorrow, and Monday, ugh! The dog days of summer are certainly here!
All the slips are lovely! Congratulations again to the winners. Your idea of a dressing room scene sounds wonderful, Linda. Send pictures!! I wish now I had been collecting when the PC dress forms were out because now I would love to have one for a sewing room display-maybe someday.
What pretty little slips! Congratulations to the ladies who will be receiving them. I especially like the lace you used for the AG slips. It makes them look very feminine.
BeauTiful slips! So happy that I own several, but a girl can never have enough, right! I LOVED Shara’s sparkle slip. I hope that you will make more of these and put them in your Etsy Shop. If you do, I most certainly will purchase one. I had read your blog and congratulations on your anniversary, I did not include my name because I had won one of your beauTiful slips in the past. So happy to see you back in your sewing room.
Creative Jeanne did it again. You made very beautiful slips. It’s such a shame that the will be hidden under dresses or skirts! Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
They are all beautiful but the picture of Ten Ping and your American Girl doll in their slips made me chuckle for sure!
That was a great way to celebrate your Anniversary!
