Let’s all go on a journey as each person answers this question… close your eyes and take in how they describe the place they thought was the most beautiful…
Today’s question… “Where is the most beautiful place you have ever been?”
See you when I can,
Blessings, Jeanne
Good Morning Jeanne,
I’m so happy to hear you are home. It must feel so good to be back home, enjoying your own things. Climbing into your own bed feels wonderful I’m sure.
Great question… I’m going to have to think on it for a bit.
Continued prayers
Hugs
Ingrid
I guess I would say Sitka, Alaska. We visited over 20 years ago – met up with some friends who had friends that lived there. They had settled there after WWII and were the nicest people. They took us fishing for halibut. I’m not into fishing but it was an amazing time and they are huge fish! Another time we were taken for a cruise on the Baranof Straits. Absolutely gorgeous – the deep blue of the ocean with mountains as a backdrop. I really enjoyed watching the puffins and even saw whales! Did I mention the stars at night? All I can say is W O W.
Another favorite is the Grand Canyon, I really didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The day we visited there was a lot of fog – you could not see across. We were all disappointed but as the fog lifted bit by bit you could appreciate the enormity of it as opposed to just walking up and bam there it is.
My home state of Michigan has so many beautiful areas. The Great Lakes with all the light houses; our inland lakes; biking & hiking trails. The northern cities like Traverse City, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne City just to name a few. I know I sound like a commercial.
I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful country with such a diverse terrain to visit & enjoy. Now you have me “itching” to plan a trip.
Hoping you and George are feeling stronger every day.
God Bless
Finally found your blog! It wasn’t in my email, as it usually is.
Oh gosh, the most beautiful place? I have been to many beautiful places, but the ones I really like are the ones that are open, green and filled with trees and flowers. One trip that we had that stood out to me and that I remember, is going to White Sulphur Springs, WV, and through the Smokey Mountains. It was a late spring trip, so the tress were many beautiful shades of green, and covered the hillsides. Forest flowers were everywhere, and I just remember being so at peace, drinking in the beauty of it all. I love to see untouched beauty of the country, not particularly fond of big cities or even tropical places.
Of course, I do love to visit our very own Missouri Botanical Gardens too. It is a treasure that always has something at every turn you make, and something new every season. It is filled with beautiful flowers, beautiful trees, and places to sit and reflect. There is something for everyone there, and I feel so lucky to be able to visit several times a year.
I hope George is getting stronger and feeling better every day, and that you both are getting better sleep. I bet Reuben is so happy to have his “people” home again!
I’m still in a happy place after meeting the two of you, and hope to see you both again!
Take care, and prayers for you both!
I didn’t receive the post either. It’s strange because some of the past days I have received two, hours apart.
The most beautiful place I have ever been would have to be a toss up between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, Canada. Both place were so fresh and unspoiled. Prince Edward Island was all about seeing Anne of Green Gables stuff. We even saw many places where Anne and Road to Avonlea were filmed. “Gus’s lighthouse” is on a couple’s property, but tourists are allowed to view it.. Her husband and she have a dairy farm down the road and have a cottage a few miles away on the beach right next to the lighthouse. She came out and visited with us and talked about how the watched Anne being filmed and watching Megan Follows (Anne) and Schuyler Grant (Diana) in the scene of them running along the beach while we stood in the exact place. Then we went into her cottage to the second floor to view the lighthouse from the top. I have rocks, sand and soil from our trip. Nova Scotia was breathtaking- Peggy’s Cove and the Bay of Fundy. Best of all the way we traveled to Canada was by taking a train from the states and then a ferry over.
Hi Laura – You just brought back many memories for me. My best girlfriend married and moved to Nova Scotia and one year my sister & I drove all the way from Michigan to Peggy’s Cove! You are so right, it is an incredibly beautiful area. Gosh, I think that was about 45 years ago.
I’m another who didn’t receive the post at 2 a.m. 5/31–instead, it came at 2 a.m. 6/1! A day late.
My most beautiful place is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I spent many of my growing-up years there (first grade to the beginning of 9th grade), I have been to maybe 38 or 39 of the states, as well as to Swaziland and S. Africa (with layovers in London), and it’s still my most favorite place in the world! So many beautiful natural wonders–Big Springs, Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, just to name a few. Also, gently rolling farmland and lots and lots of forests!!
I grew up in a little town called Stephenson, in that southern-most “tip” that abuts Wisconsin, and go back whenever I can. I was there four years ago for my 50 year class reunion. Even though I graduated in Seattle, I am much more a part of the class in Stephenson, so I went to that reunion, too!
My car bumper sticker reads, “If you haven’t been there, you wouldn’t understand.” Yes, I LOVE Michigan!
It’s a toss up between the Italian countryside and Alaska… both are beautiful in very different ways.
As some of the previous writers have mentioned, I would have to say Michigan. It’s been home for all of my years. I was first dunked in Lake Huron when I was 9 months old and it has been a love affair ever since. My runner up would be the coast of Maine. It reminds me of northern Michigan.
Hope everything is progressing at home.
Have a great day!
Take care —
