I feel sorry for those new subscribers of mine who haven’t seen a good post in quite a while. There just hasn’t been much spare time for me lately and I hate that I’m having to grasp at straws to come up with an interesting post… Oh by the way, I LOVED the flowers pictures sent by Linda and Susette and read all of your comments. Thank you SO MUCH!
We did get a few things finished in the kitchen. We put the end panels on 2 of my upper cabinets… I used beadboard. We also used it on the side of pantry. I finished painting my trim that will go around my door and my window. I can’t wait to see that put up. I know it will really finish off the room.
Today is one of those “informative” posts. It’s mostly about what Rebecca does… make pretty necklaces for my dolls and a few for you ladies out there. I finally got some necklaces of hers listed in our Etsy shop and thought I’d let you see them… I do have some prettier women’s necklaces, but haven’t found the time to get them listed on Etsy.
Our Etsy shop has been sorely lacking in items lately and I still get visitors to it every day, but I wonder what they’re looking at…It is neglected in the worst way. :o(
Here are a few of the necklaces and then a link to our Etsy shop…or you click on the mini pictures of our Etsy items at the right side bar.
This is our Etsy shop link… I Dream of Jeanne Marie Etsy Shop
Thanks everyone,
See you when I can,
Blessings, Jeanne
I think we’ve had some really interesting posts recently. We’ve had beautiful dresses, amazing kitchen changes, a lovely chandelier, beautiful flowers, our favorite Haitian baby, savory pans and kitchen storage — quite a lot, really — a very funny post about nail guns, and lots about good friendships and even some good food.
I’m pretty sure the categories you list above are meant to be Dolls and My Life and Uncategorized, but I always read the last two as one: My Life, Uncategorized. This is my favorite category because it feels so much like my own life, which remains quite messy after a number of years of things not going the way I need them to so that parts fit into neat categories. It’s more like a category of “Managing to Survive.”
What we have here is a real life blog where real things happen and not all of them are easy or pretty, but there’s a lot of accomplishment and courage and a lot of encouragement going in all directions. We don’t just come here for pretty doll dresses even though that’s probably the common denominator.
On to a new category — my garden and the weather. May weather has returned to Colorado. We used to have April snow followed by May rains and mud. Last year May snow killed blossoms and all the iris buds. This year our mostly dry winter has given away to daily rain — the grass grows and the lawns are too soggy to mow, the lilacs bloom and the weight of the rain pulls the branches down. Last night we had a couple of hours of sheet lightning. It was like trying to sleep in a room with a strobe light. The good thing is that everything is so wet that fires are not likely to spread quickly. Everything is dramatic and wet and green and hopeful, and the first of my mother’s iris has bloomed.
Thank you Marilyn,
Maybe my posts haven’t been as ho hum as I thought they were. Thank you for making me feel better. I take my blog seriously and don’t want people to be disappointed when they come for “dolls” and all there is are necklaces in our Etsy shop…or updates on my kitchen. I’ll have to read your comments a few times and maybe I’ll be okay…
Your weather sounds a bit like Southern Illinois…if you don’t like the weather one day, wait till tomorrow and maybe you will…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Very well said, Marilyn! While most of us got into your blog, Jeanne, because of your lovely doll creations, we have grown as a group of doll lovers to a family group, sharing our lives with you. I love hearing about yours and everyone’s life here on the blog, and it brings us together even though we live miles apart, even states and countries apart. I love the diversity of the blog, so don’t you feel like you have to apologize for it not being a doll clothes sewing blog! We are happy to be here through thick and thin!
Hi Linda,
Thank you too, for your very kind words. I guess if people didn’t really enjoy it here, they would just leave, but so far, everyone’s sticking around. Yay!!
I enjoy it when I hear about what all of you are doing too! It’s fun to see and hear what’s going on all around the world.
Thank you Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love reading your posts whether about dolly dresses and sewing or any other topic. The viewpoints of your readers and their interesting comments all make things come alive. I learn something new every day.
Love Rebecca’s designs. Most of the girls I have around here wear much smaller neck wear or I’d jump right in. I would love to see some things in a smaller scale made for them. Also slips and maybe little rumba panties would be cute. Just a thought.
Love that you have gotten more done towards your grand kitchen remodel opening. Can’t wait to see that special day.
Hope your week goes well. Looking forward to your next post. Lots of love around here.
Thank you too, Joy, for always being so positive and encouraging about whatever it is I talk about.
I’ve tried to get Rebecca to make some tiny necklaces for the littler dolls, but she hasn’t been able to find any magnetic clasps small enough that they don’t fall to the back of the dolls neck making the necklace ride up in the front. There has to be something out there, but she’s looked and looked to no avail.
We got the boards for the toe kick below the cabinets, but I haven’t had time to paint it…maybe tomorrow I’ll get them painted and up…
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
I really liked what Marilyn said: “….I always read the last two as one: My Life, Uncategorized. This is my favorite category because it feels so much like my own life, which remains quite messy after a number of years of things not going the way I need them to so that parts fit into neat categories. It’s more like a category of ‘Managing to Survive.’ ” That’s how My life is sometimes, too! Especially this weekend….
So, keep sharing your life, Jeanne; it helps the rest of us realize that we all have ups and downs sometimes, and that it’s okay!!
Prayers continue.
Thank you Charlotte,
Just as I’ve said before…I have the greatest group of ladies who keep hanging around and it just amazes me. Everyone is so kind and thoughtful and it blesses my heart to know you are all there!
Thank you so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
