You guessed right…it’s my Effner doll, Emmie, who gets the next dress!

Before I forget, any of you who like to sew for the American Girl dolls; Keepers Dolly Duds, on Etsy, is having a 50% off sale until March 7th, on all of the patterns. I know I’ve been drooling over a few of them and just might have to support Eve!! :o) You can visit her Etsy shop and check them out HERE.

The second thing is my Easter dress for Molly ends Sunday evening. My sister, Cindy, will be here visiting and I just might forget to do a post on Sunday to remind you, so I’m reminding you now! :o) You can see it by clicking the picture at the right side bar or your can click HERE.

Some of you guessed right away that if I was messing with a new wig on Emmie, she was probably going to be next… AND SHE IS! It’s about time! That’s what she said!

I wanted to make some sort of simple dress set, but still pretty and a bit fancy, for her first Easter dress. It’s a sweet blue print with a bit of navy and pink and a dot of burgundy. It goes wonderfully with her new platinum wig! (If you missed my post on taming that wild wig, you can see it HERE.)

Emmie’s dress is just a darling sleeveless dress with a bit of white lace and some pink floss run through the beading!

I added a little decorative stitch at the hem to mimic the pink floss woven through the beading.

Here’s a shot of a few things I’ve gathered up and “may” use to finish this set!

I hope you can guess what’s coming! :o)

Well, my sister, Cindy and her hubby are coming in Saturday and I’m sure I’ll have a fun week with her! I hope your week is just as fun!

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I love the embroidered blue fabric. I don’t know what you’d do with it, but it’s lovely. I like the decorative hem stitch too. It’s a very sweet dress and I’m sure that pink felt is going to make something perfect to complete the outfit. I’m so glad you have the pink shoes.
I’m glad Cindy will be there. You deserve a nice week and you will have one and Cindy will undoubtedly do something or make something that will keep us all happy. There’s a good chance that she’ll have a couple of interesting kitchen ideas to share with us.

    1. I’ve answered comments later than this before, so I’m going to answer everyone… everyone gets 3 lines of comments and then I’ll have to move on.

      HI Marilyn,
I have something up my sleeve for that blue embroidered fabric. We’ll see if it works! Cindy and her hubby arrived and it wasn’t long into the conversation until she asked me if I had picked a paint color for my cabinets yet! I told her that’s what she was here for!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I went back to look at yesterday’s comments and answers and saw that Joy asked if the Keepers pattern we were talking about for Kit was the one with two front pleats, and the answer is yes, that’s the one. I saw it made up on AGPT in black and white with red accents, and I’d love to see it in the kinds of colors and patterns Jeanne uses for spring. I think the pattern is made for interpretation.

    1. HI again Marilyn,
I haven’t seen the dress you are talking about on AGPT, but I might have to look it up… and I might have to consider getting this pattern. It seems like it would be very fun to make. I LOVE black and white with just a touch of red!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. So sweet, Jeanne! I think maybe a little felt jacket, a slip and can’t quite figure it all out, especially with that beautiful blue rose-bud embroidered fabric, might be in the works. Maybe a felt hat like the one you made for Molly? Something for us to look forward to, for sure!
Still sneezing and all stuffed up today, but I am going to try to get outside and enjoy the 60 degree weather we are supposed to be getting. Have fun with Cindy!

    1. Hi Linda,
Well, you’ll just have to wait and see along with me, because I haven’t been back in my sewing room since last night. Shingles blew off our roof and we were fixing that this morning, then I decorated for a bridal shower that’s tomorrow… then Cindy came in! Whew!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I think a child with that color hair is referred to as a towhead, but the platinum blond hair comes from a bottle. You did a marvelous transformation. My first thought when I saw the wig with the curl sticking out the wrong way was: “My hair did that to me yesterday.”

Thanks for the tip about the patterns. I had been looking for one with what I call a “shell sleeve.” It’s one with the “Bodice Detail” on the Keepers site. I also ordered the Dirndl and the Train Outfit.

Have a great and inspiring time with Cindy. You both are so creative. Won’t it be wonderful to renovate your own kitchen to include your wish list?

    1. HI Susette,
I haven’t put in my order for Eve’s patterns yet, but I’m sure I will! You are right about the kid called a towhead!:o) Cindy and I started talking paint colors and kitchen ideas within a half an hour of her arriving! There’s no hope for us! 2 creative sisters just having fun!
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Thanks for the heads up about the patterns, Jeanne. I just ordered 4!
I love Emmie’s look. The wig suits her features and coloring. She looks adorable modeling her new dress, and very pleased with herself.
Enjoy the week with your sister. Create some great memories!

    1. HI Lynn,
Oh, good, I’m glad you found some fun patterns to use! Now for me to decide which ones I want! It’s hard to pick, isn’t it? I’m glad you like Emmie’s new blonde wig! I like it on her very much! I do plan on enjoying my week with Cindy and it started already tonight! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Love the embroidered ribbon. Can’t wait to see how it is used. Emmie is looking sharp with her new look and dress.
Hope you don’t have to work all week on getting the other house ready for sale. Maybe a sister shopping spree and kitchen planning in the down time. Know you won’t be idle.

    1. HI Joy,
I hope I can use that blue embroidered ribbon the way I want! Emmie told me she feels “grown up!” Those were her exact words! Cindy is going to pick up some ceiling paint tomorrow after church and we’ll probably start on Monday! Oh boy! Work days ahead! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dear Jeanne, the dress is adorable! Any Little Darling would love to stroll in the Easter Parade wearing your lovely outfit.
Enjoy your sister time. It’s a precious gift.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Thanks for your compliments on Emmie’s dress! She looks quite adorable to me too! If I had as many dolls as Joy does, I could actually do an Easter Parade… of course my dolls would all be naked except for the one leading the parade! Yikes! :o) We are already having fun! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. The accessory fabrics are so yummy…I’m guessing a hat and Jacket? Whatever it is it’s going to be perfect! Have fun with Cindy…I’ll bet she gets some input on the rest of Emmie’s ensemble☺️
    Enjoy the Visit!

    1. HI Kathie,
We’ll have to see what I use and what gets left behind. I’ve already pulled out another fabric and may use it too! I am already having fun with Cindy… we are discussing my “upcoming” kitchen and I want to know how to make it as pretty as the ones I’ve seen on Pinterest! :o)
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I see your time away from the sewing studio has not affected your skills whatsoever, Jeanne! Emmie is looking pleased and proud in her sweet new dress and complementing pink Mary Janes. I love the dainty print of the fabric, and the color accentuates Emmie’s big blue eyes. The scalloped stitching at the hem adds a charming touch, and what would a perfect “little girl’s dress” be without your signature eyelet lace at the waist? Since Easter is early this year, I think this darling sleeveless dress might need a sweetly embroidered felt jacket to keep Emmie warm for the Easter egg Hunt. I see she already has her bunny basket ready. 😉 The delicate ribbon with rosebuds would look lovely trimming a two-tone straw hat, and perhaps a double-layered pink and white petticoat with a pink bow to complete her ensemble is in order. However you choose to finish this ensemble, I know we will be as pleased and surprised as Emmie! We’ll look forward to its completion after you enjoy a little sister time with Cindy. Know you will treasure your “girl time.” Blessings to you both in all your endeavors!

    1. HI Anne,
I was almost going to call today’s post, “See, I do remember how to sew!” Thanks so much for the compliments on Emmie’s dress. I have something in mind and I hope it works. I am enjoying some time with Cindy! Monday we’re paining momma’s ceiling in her old house!
      Blessings, Jeanne

There! I did it! 3 lines for everyone! :o)
