Hi everyone,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We did…just us and the kids…and too much food! I’m used to cooking for bigger crowds at gatherings but the nice thing is, we have lots of leftovers now!!
We watched “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and just visited all day.
In the afternoon, Kristoffer started doing things on my new computer again. He had already transferred gobs of my pictures off my old computer, but I needed them moved to Picasa and I really hoped he could get them matched up with their name and date. AND he did it!!! Hallelujah!!
We thought all was well…UNTIL…we discovered my pictures from 2010 until now weren’t on there, so he worked until midnight trying to get them all transferred over. He had to get home because he has to work in the morning, but he said to leave the computer on to keep loading the pictures. (He didn’t want me to bother anything, so I’m writing this on my phone.) Kristoffer said he would come back tomorrow after work and get the rest of my files and pictures loaded!! The fun thing is, I think I saw some pictures going by that you haven’t seen!!!
You know what he kept saying to me??? “Good Grief, mom…you have SO many pictures!!!”
You know what I said? “It’s what I do!”
Maybe I’ll have everything all transferred over by tomorrow and can get in there and find some of those new pictures!
In the meantime, no pictures today, but you probably won’t notice, because everyone will probably be out shopping for next year’s Christmas gifts, won’t you?

I’m glad you had a wonderful day. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your dinner — leftovers from a holiday dinner are always a treasure.
A neighbor and a former neighbor came by with Christmas cookies, which was lovely of them. Our Christmas was white and lovely. Best of all, the man who mows my lawn came by and shoveled the walks as a Christmas present — especially appreciated since I had a cold and I needed the walks shoveled so that when my brother-in-law came by to pick up presents, he could do it without slipping, and so that the milkman, who delivers in the middle of the night, would have a safe way to get to my porch. Let’s see how many of your readers take the idea of a milkman as ordinary and which think milkmen disappeared in the 50s or 60s.

Yes, Kristoffer retrieving my pictures was a most wonderful gift!!! My computer has been offline ever since I woke up this morning because it says my satellite is not connected. I’m waiting for Kristoffer to get here tonight to see what’s wrong with it…
We’re having the turkey, corn casserole, green beans and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight. I may cook some chicken because we’ve nibbled on the turkey today.
I think it’s neat that you have a milkman who delivers to your house!!! I think it’s kind of old fashioned and nostalgic!!!p
I hope you’re having a good day…we are in the freeze zone around here. The temp is 26 but the wind chill makes it feel 13 degrees!!! BBRRR!

Well, I noticed, but that’s okay–it’s important to be able to access ALL of your pictures when you want them!
I will not be out shopping tomorrow, Jeanne! I refuse to be caught up in that post-Christmas madness! LOL I plan to take it easy, sleep in, maybe sew, read, etc. I’ve had too many long days and short nights lately!
We had a nice Christmas at my brother’s–just 10 of us in all, including my son and part of his family. And……out here in Seattle, we actually had a really, truly WHITE Christmas!! Two things about this: 1–There is only a 7% chance of having a truly White (1″ or more of snow) Christmas in the Seattle area. 2–And this is really remarkable–for the first time EVER (well, as long as they have been keeping records) we had 1″ or more of snow on Christmas Eve AND 1″ or more on Christmas Day!! In our area we had about 3″ total. Side roads were a little tricky but main roads and highways were fine–mostly bare and wet.
I LOVE snow, so I am thrilled!!

I didn’t venture out today either…and tomorrow’s temperature is only supposed to get to 18 degrees, so I think I’ll stay at home then too.

So glad you had a lovely, quiet Christmas and got the wonderful gift of time (and his patience) from Kristoffer. So glad he is getting the pictures transferred. Somehow I thought when I bought a new laptop several years ago that Picasa had been discontinued entirely as a program! What a mistake as it’s the BEST editing program and to find out it’s still there . . . Now I have to figure out how to get my pictures transferred too. Please thank Kristoffer for the discovery. I’ll figure it out somehow.
My eldest son and his family visited for Christmas, and Riya and Krish were here thanks to FaceTime, showing us their presents. Riya was wearing the dress I made for her. Snow came through for them in WV. Southern California had the grace not to top 70 yesterday for Christmas.

I was telling him last night about you saying you had tried transferring your pictures over on Windows 10 and they were mixed up and didn’t have any names…I don’t know how to tell you what he did except my pictures were in folders.
I’m so glad Riya’s dress fit and that you got to see her wearing it on Christmas Day.
I’m hoping Kristoffer can figure out what’s going on with my satellite, or I might be doing another post on my phone!

Well, here I am, barely awake, but awake nonetheless! I got up at 2:00 this morning, and just had to clean up after our daughter and her family came yesterday and stayed the evening too. While we had a great time, and a white Christmas too, today is a very down=time day! Of all things, it is also our 51st wedding anniversary! What a day to get married! Never again!!!!
So glad you could spend the day yesterday with the people you love the most, and who love you! That’s really the best way to do it, and just to enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate those moments in time.
What a wonderful gift Kristoffer gave to you! Wish he lived closer to me!
And Marilyn, as far as a milkman goes, we had one in the 50’s, but my son in Denver has one, since they have 3 growing boys and drink a lot of milk!

We only had snow flurries but nothing stuck so it was pretty uneventful for us.
It really was nice to just spend the day with the kids!

Marilyn, oh my goodness, a milkman! We had Green’s milk delivered in PA when I was growing up. Wow, I haven’t thought about that for a while. We also had an “egg lady” who would bring eggs to our house.
Now I am thinking of my childhood Christmases. Thanks for sparking that memory.

So glad to hear you will have all of your gazillion photos transferred and in the appropriate easy to find place. I haven’t done much about transferring anything yet to the new computer. Guess I’ll have to get to that in the new year.
No shopping plans for today. Probably just carry on as usual.
As to Marilyn’s milkman, we too had one in the 50’s. In fact, I actually have one of the old milk boxes into which they deposited the deliveries. I don’t believe that there are any dairies that still deliver in this area. But, since so many have chickens in their yards now, there seem to be plenty of fresh eggs. 🙂

I hope your pictures transfer easier than mine are going….I’m guessing the number of pictures I have is part of the problem. Kristoffer is now thinking I have over 100,000 pictures. Surely he must be wrong.

Once you get everything transferred, it will be a piece of cake. Except if you have that flat keyboard like my new one. I’m getting used to it, but not quite yet.
Guess what? I have a new sewing machine. Ended up trading in mine as it was going to cost probably 300. to fix. Guess I’m kind of rough sewing on those heavy fabrics. Anyway, have a new Babylock Accord. Not the finest, but should work for me. Or so I hope. 🙂
