Hi everyone,
Due to “technical difficulties” *wink* *wink* I am only able to just write something….no pictures. (I’m writing this on my phone.) I decided to spend the night with Deb and momma at her new apartment for a kind of slumber party…:o)
We had pizza, Deb gave momma a pedicure, which was a total hoot, and then we fixed root beer floats. Momma went to bed and Deb and I stayed up watching sappy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. (I totally loved them!)
I don’t have any jammies, I’ll have to sleep in my contacts and my clothes and right now we are laughing our heads off because we didn’t get any blankets out of my moms bedroom before she went to bed. You should see what we’ve tried to do with her love seat cushions to make me a bed on the floor. :o)
The bed Deb is sleeping in is a full size and I’m sure neither one of us would get any sleep if we slept together…we’ll figure out something…
Such are the adventures of me and my sister!
I’ll see you soon,
Blessings, Jeanne
So funny to read, Jeanne! It sounds like a teenage slumber party if you ask me! Oh, I love those Hallmark programs too, and pizza and root beer floats sound right up my alley! I’m encouraged to hear about how your momma is gradually getting used to her new place. So far, so good, but I’m sure there will be setbacks every once in awhile, just normal though.
What I meant about the airport, well, the President came to St. Louis the same time Rebecca came home, but I guess he was at a different part of the airport. I’m glad she had a good flight and enjoyed it.
We had a really fun time…well if you don’t count sleeping on the floor with a “too small” afghan for cover. I probably should have gone home and gotten an air mattress and a blanket, but I guess it was part of the adventure.
Thanks Linda
Blessings, Jeanne
Hope you worked it all out, Jeanne, so you had a comfortable night’s sleep. I’m glad to hear your mom seems to be adjusting better now, and that you all had fun at your slumber party.
Hi Charlotte,
We had fun at our slumber party, but I have been tired today. I’m not staying too late tonight…
Things will work out…I’m sure they will.
Blessings, Jeanne
Call George and ask him to bring blankets? You are going to be so tired in the morning but the evening sounds like fun. Maybe the three of you can have breakfast there — or go out for McDonald’s for an appropriate start to a day after a slumber party.
For all your fans who loved Jeanne’s 3D clothes, if you go to this morning’s Freebie Friday Pixie Faire patterns and scroll down, there’s a gingerbread dress. It’s not up to Jeanne’s level, but it might be a great place to start. I think I’d choose a darker brown or a subtle brown on brown print, but that the pleasure of patterns — you get to make the choices. The gingerbread dress is not free but the one that is has a skirt that could be made longer and would be a nicely detailed skirt for a Victorian dress.
If you don’t get the Freebie Friday email, go to pixiefaire.com, click on Freebies, then on Freebie Fridays for more information or to register for free patterns.
Good luck on today, Jeanne. This is the beginning of good memories in your mom’s new home. I hope there will be a lot, and photos might help your mother recall them.
Hi Marilyn,
We had toast in momma’s apartment, then did a little sprucing up in her place. Before we knew it, it was time for lunch. We have met some wonderful people here and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It was very nice.
Tomorrow Deb is leaving and I think I’m going to leave momma to herself for the rest of the day tomorrow and see how she does.
Thank you for your sweet compliments Marilyn….how kind you are!
Blessings, Jeanne
Last night sounded like fun. Hopefully your mom will adjust as days go by. She has wonderful children who love her and want to protect her. There might be some ups and downs but you’ll handle that and find the right direction.
Bless you all.
Hi Paula,
I know there will be ups and downs but this evening momma went to dinner by herself and was gone for over an hour. She ate with a lady who was 101 years old and couldn’t remember what she ate but chatted about the 101 year old lady…small steps.
Thanks Paula,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hope you had a wonderful time! It sounds like you did.
Hope the weekend brings you just as much joy.
Have a good day!
Take care –
Hi Charlotte,
I’m hoping the weekend brings me much sleep!! I have been burning the candle at both ends this week.
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Well, let’s see what the day brings besides a sore back. Hope you actually got some slumber at the slumber party. Sounds like a lot of fun.
The holidays are certainly upon us. Should be a wonderful time of excitement.
Have a great weekend.
Hi Joy,
I managed to get 2 hours last night…which wasn’t nearly enough. I’m hoping to get more soon!!!
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, What fun! I bet just knowing that you and Deb were there made your mother feel like her old self.
I love the idea of slumber parties at my age (Boomer). Some friends and I are going to a spa day next weekend. It’s just for the day. I think next year it will overnight. Of course, we won’t be sleeping on the floor (smile).
I am glad you are able to build in some fun times. You need that right now.
Continued blessings.
Hi Dorothy,
I think I could use a spa day after our slumber party escapades! I hope you have fun next week!!! Sounds fun!
Thank you Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Sounds like a grand time!! I’m sure your mom felt so much safer and secure with both of you there. Love Hallmark movies. My favorite recent one was “The Nine Lives of Christmas”
How wonderful for you that you have a sister to share slumber parties with.
Hi Laura,
Momma felt safe with us here with her, and we felt safe with her at this new place. It really is amazing and we are very impressed… it’s a nice feeling.
We’re watching Hallmark movies again… maybe “The Nine Lives of Christmas” will come on…
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
I hope you get lots and lots of sleep tonight and that your mother does the same and that you both wake up feeling your best.
HI Marilyn,
I’m writing tomorrow’s post and heading straight to bed… Deb even made me take an Advil PM before I left momma’s… it should be kicking in pretty soon… I probably didn’t need any “help” tonight, but just in case! :o)
Thanks,
Blessings, Jeanne
