Elizabeth said, “Hey, what about all the Colonial dresses I’VE modeled?”

“Sorry, Elizabeth, I was laying in bed last night, when I realized I had more dresses from the Colonial era that YOU had modeled…” I thought it was only fair that I show everyone “her” dresses! I don’t think anyone will mind.

Let’s start the slideshow with Elizabeth as the center of attention!

This is one of my very favorite pictures on ANY of my dolls. I just LOVED Elizabeth’s long neck in pictures!

Whew! I think we are done with Colonial dresses… except to find out what happens with Fall Fancy! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I particularly like the 2nd and 3rd dresses pictured, because they have the bodices actually laced up! The second one is laced thru some kind of grommets, and on the third dress, you’ve laced the ribbons thru a loopy trim.. I think you recently mentioned something about the laced-up bodices, and how to do it. Well….you Did do it, and it looks wonderful!

    1. HI Charlotte,
Actually that green and yellow set, with the “grommets” was made with some kind of open bead that Rebecca had. They are stitched on…you can see it if you look closely… Then I just threaded my ribbon through it. I like that set too, because it’s a bit different.
The pink laced up one was a favorite of mine as I thought it looked SO feminine on Elizabeth.
Thanks so much…I’m glad you enjoyed looking at dresses on Elizabeth.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. All your dresses are so lovely it is hard to pick just a few let alone just one. I liked the lace up bodices too. Plus, I like the red and white leaf patterned dress. Elizabeth does seem to have a beautiful neck.
Hope you have a good day.
    Take care –

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m not sure if the Elizabeth’s they are making today have that longer neck or not, but I’m glad I have the doll I do… she does definitely have a longer neck…and compared to my older Felicity’s it’s much longer…
I was thrilled with the way the red and white printed dresses turned out too… That last red and white one was made from the softest, almost sheer fabric and it was a dream to sew!
      Thank you Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. They are all so beautiful and unique. I especially love looking at all the details you put into each one. Elizabeth wears many colors well. Thanks for sharing the slide show, I enjoy them.

    1. Thank you Leigh,
I’m glad you are enjoying yourself here and I appreciate all your sweet comments. I agree, there isn’t much that Elizabeth can’t wear…she’s a classic beauty!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I agree with Leigh — Elizabeth wears many colors well. She looks especially well in blue, but she also looks especially well in red, and brown, and green, and that pale aqua print is lovely. I think my favorite is the first one because I like the fichu and cap so much. One reason I like the aqua one so much is the perfection of the bows.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I had to look at the “perfection of the bows” on the aqua one.. They do look pretty nice don’t they? Thanks!!
I loved that lacy cap on the first blue one too… I had a lot of that lace for a long time and then I ran out… it was discontinued and I was sad! :o( I’m always on the lookout for another soft and delicate lace like it…
      Thank you very much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Jeanne, your ensembles really are the bee’s knees when it comes to clothing design and application. Three cheers for Elizabeth and all of the superlative clothes she’s wearing, designed by………I Dream of Jeanne Marie….thanks for sharing such inspiration, color and a very good start to the day.

    Blessings.

    1. HI Becky,
It’s always fun to know that my dresses get your day started on the right track!! Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments on Elizabeth’s dresses. She truly is a beauty!
      Thank you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. That Elizabeth never ceases to amaze me. What a fabulous model. And the dresses are all unique with such special details. The backgrounds from AG are also a special effect. I always wished that I had them. Did you sell yours? For whatever reason, that blue first outfit really pops out at groggy me. It’s very pleasing as well as the lovely cap.
Let’s see, what’s on the to do list for today? Trader Joe’s for sure. Hope you have a few free moments to figure out possibilities for the next outfit.

    1. Thank you Joy,
Yes, I did have all of the background scenes and settings books but sold them a few years ago. They took up a lot of space and I always struggled with them being glossy and my lights would glare on them when I took pictures. I’m sure there is a way to fix that, and I find myself looking them on Ebay every once in a while…thinking maybe I need one.. I used Samantha’s bedroom probably the most…
I’ve got to get my sewing room back in order…it’s a bit of a mess… I’ve been too busy lately. I’ll keep you posted on who’s next! :o)
Thanks Joy… have fun at Trader Joe’s. I’ve never been to one of them before… but they sound fun!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Jeanne, Elizabeth looks just so beautiful in every thing you put her in! I love her blue eyes, and guess what? I don’t have a single blue eyed doll! Something to wish for, I guess.
I was going to mention, the laces you use are just gorgeous, and where do you find such pretty ones? That first dress, and second to last dress have such beautiful lace! Can you find things like that now without going to a specialty store, like a bridal shop?
I especially like Elizabeth in the deep blue and then the red and white dresses. And yes, her neck is wonderful for modeling! Too bad AG has retired so many really pretty dolls. I can do without most of the newer ones.
I’m off now to get back to raking leaves. It’s a never ending thing to do around here!

    1. HI Linda,
I can’t believe you don’t have any blue eyed dolls. I think we need to tell your hubby about this! :o)
I am always looking for pretty laces… and if I find one that I think will work exceptionally well, I try to buy as much of it as I can… There used to be a bridal shop in a nearby town and I loved to buy things there… but now I just hunt for laces wherever I am or sometimes online. The problem is I have to really “feel” the lace to know if I like it or not… It’s hard to do that through the computer…
Yes, all those leaves are crazy right now aren’t they. I wish a big strong wind would come from the south and blow them all in the road, and forget the raking… my hubby has been mulching them with the mower…
      Have fun… :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Hi Jeanne,
The computer keeps eating my comments. I’m going to try once more.
I love when you feature past outfits. What a treat to see them. I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite. They are all so lovely! Thank ever so much for sharing them.
Hope you have a wonderful day/afternoon.
    Hugs
    Ingrid

      1. HI Ingrid,
Don’t you just hate it when the computer chews up your comments and spits them out somewhere else? I’m glad you got it to finally work… :o)
I’m glad you enjoyed Elizabeth’s slideshow of dresses today… She really is pretty, isn’t she?
        Thanks Ingrid,
I hope your day is lovely too!
        Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Elizabeth’s dresses are are so pretty on her…you always chose a color that will enhance the dolls looks. I’m particularly fond of the blue green one second to the last with the lace collar that threads through the fabric down the center. Love that lace and how it frames her face.
Hope your Mom will become more positive about her move choices…it’s pretty hard to change those vintage minds sometimes.????

    1. HI Kathie,
Thank you so much for your kind comments on Elizabeth’s dresses. Someone just emailed me the other day asking about that fichu on the blue dress. I told her that lace was long gone but I agreed, it was a really pretty one with that dress.
I’m heading over to my mom’s again… another fire to put out… (so to speak)
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. well, completely late again. It seems everything else has to happen first before I can see your post lately. Well Felicity’s Fall Fancy gown was simply beautiful and I enjoyed her slideshow yesterday.
Elizabeth looks so pretty in blue, definitely her color. I like the first dress and the one of her holding the butterfly best.
O went to our garden store yesterday to see the Christmas display because they always go up the week before Thanksgiving. Along with the traditional Christmas ornaments, there was a display that featured a woodland theme. I have one of those short more rustic tress that goes in the sunroom and gets dried apples, oranges and starfruit on it along with other things, then snowflake and icicles with blue and white lights in January and woven, paper and wooden hearts in February. Anyway, I found the cutest little animals, a fox (loved that one), squirrel, raccoon and owl, so this year the sunroom tree will hopefully be woodland in December and January. The best thing is the animals are doll sized and will be doll pets the rest of the year!

    1. HI Laura,
Your new little pets sound wonderful and it’s nice that they have a dual purpose! I love it when that happens. Your sun room will be really perfect this year! :o)

You are so right about Elizabeth’s color being blue! She looks wonderful in it… any shade!
      Thanks so much Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. I keep coming back to the aqua dress — I love the setting — the plants and the bricks are so Williamsburg.

    1. Thanks Marilyn,
I really wish I had a permanent pretty place outside that I could take pictures in… maybe some day! Thanks so much!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Love you, Jeanne
