Now that’s a title for you, isn’t it? Any takers as to what it means? No? Well, I’ll tell you. My sister, Deb, and her hubby, Mike, are here visiting and they are the PROUD parents of a new dog called Charlie. Let me tell you…he is a sweetheart! I’d like to give Charlie his “15 Minutes of Fame” on my blog! :o)
If you click on any picture, it will enlarge.
They got him from a lady at their church who wasn’t able to keep him anymore. He’s pretty big, being a standard poodle, but he’s very gentlemanly and so obedient! He’s 6 years old and pretty close to the size of a small pony… just kidding, but when he runs outside it’s almost as if he’s galloping!
I’m pretty sure he has Deb wrapped around his sweet wagging tail. His eyes are the prettiest GREEN, and they just pierce right through you when he looks at you. I’m not sure who loves each other the most… I think it’s a tie!
Anyway, we took him outside to play with his toy, “Bluebie.” (Blue Bee) As we threw it around in the yard, I noticed some of his stuffing was coming out and I said, “Hey, I can fix that…and I just might have something for a blog post if you let me.” So I did. I got a needle and thread from my mom’s sewing stuff and stitched Bluebie up. (I’ve had a little practice with a FEW of Reuben’s toys!) Here was Bluebie before and then an after shot.
Yep, my life is one big needle and thread episode, don’t you think? One day doll dresses, the next day car panels, and the next doggie toys! So even though this isn’t about Felicity’s dress, it is about sewing…
Hope you enjoyed it…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Needle and thread can go a long way, can’t they, Jeanne? Bluebie looks oh so well put together after the stitching you did on him.
Take care and blessings.
How lucky they are to give Charlie a home. Sewing is certainly a useful talent to have. Can’t believe a post three days in a row on such varied projects! You’re the champ!
So does Charlie like water? He reminds me of a water spaniel in a way. Beautiful dog. And lucky new parents. Does Charlie have a favorite blankie?
Heat out here is getting a little old. Wishing for some fog relief.
Charlie looks like a wonderful dog. It’s great that everyone found each other. Charlie was also lucky to find you and your needle and thread. It’s not just anyone who can repair a bluebie!!
Hope you have a good visit.
Take care.
What a cute doggie, Jeanne! Actually, he looks to be a pretty good size, not a little miniature poodle! He is so lucky to have found new “forever parents” to take care of him, and give him all the love and attention he needs. I’m sure Deb and her husband are having a wonderful time being “new” parents again!
Then too, that lucky Charlie got to be adopted into a family that can fix whatever he tears apart, with an “auntie” like Jeanne! It sounds good all around for everybody!
That’s a super cute poodle….love them. My son has a labradoodle. I guess looking at Charlie that my sons dog is more poodle than lab.
Didn’t get to comment on the car upholstery but what a awesome job you did on it! Made me remember a car we had that the head liner was a bonded fabric of some sort and the top layer would come loose. I wasn’t as talented but we used Quilt pins an d put pins in it every time a new place fell down.?
Charlie is a sweetheart and I’m so glad your sister gave him a forever home. How lucky you are to be owned by a dog or cat. One of my favorite quote is ” Pets are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole. I can’t imagine not having a furbaby or more. A friend of mine adopted a Wheaten terrier and a Pomeranian when the husband and wife who owned them were having to go into a nursing home. I just adopt dogs and kitties when they show up on the driveway or porch! How sweet of you to fix Bluebie up again. I’ve had to do that to a few toys as well. I’m sure Charlie appreciates that his toy will last.
Hope you were rewarded by doggie kisses.
Thanks everyone,
I am at my mom’s once again so I haven’t checked in till now…I read all your comments to my sisterm and she just smiled. They are leaving tomorrow so I’ll be back in my sewing room soon.
Thanks
Jeanne
