Oh, my goodness, I never expected what you all wrote yesterday. I was expecting… “I like the sewing tips the best” or “I like it when you show a dress in the works” or “I like visiting with the other readers” or “I like looking at your archived pictures” or “I like your human interest stories best” but not what you all wrote. (If you missed yesterdays’s post, I asked “What do you like best about my blog/ or what keeps bringing you back to my blog posts?” You can see that post HERE…and the comments below.)
I was so humbled by your kind words and sweet comments and wanted so desperately to answer each one back but my company was here and I didn’t think it was very nice to head off to my computer and leave them in the living room with Reuben and my hubby. I have absolutely no clue how 2 1/2 short years could produce so many wonderful friends all around the world.
After reading all your comments 3 times myself and then once to my hubby, I wanted to share what “I” like about my blog.
First, I love reading what you have to share back with me about what I’ve shared… I LOVE to hear from everyone and get their take on things. I love it when someone shares something and then other readers comment on their comments. It’s nice when I’m busy and someone just “starts” something and you all jump on the bandwagon to chime in.
I love to see who will “have tea or coffee with me” each day… I DO notice if you are missing from “across the table.” I think we would have a very nice time if we ever got together… I MEAN ALL OF US!
I love how thoughtful you are to each other…and me… you really are the kindest group of ladies (and gents) I’ve ever known…
I love how you stick around and “see each doll dress through to the end” even when you don’t have that doll. You still give your opinions and thoughts on what I’m making.
One of my favorite things about my blog is how some of you share your knowledge with us. I’ve learned SO MUCH about SO many different things from many of you… book reviews, history of certain dolls, recipes you’ve shared with me, links to things you think are interesting and many other topics. I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know it all about the dolls I sew for, so when someone shares information about them, I’m all ears.
I LOVE sewing and really enjoy sharing my creations with you… my blog is the perfect outlet for showing the dress from start to finish and then selling it. It’s fun that you sometimes watch the end of the auctions with me…it’s like I have a little cheering section all of my own.
I love sewing, but sometimes life gets in the way, or maybe not gets in the way… just sort of takes over for a bit, but you don’t seem to mind. That’s nice because sometimes I just can’t do sewing… (like the last few days with my sisters and company here.)
I love how you make me accountable in my sewing… I mean I can’t put out a shoddy product…TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE WATCHING ME! You challenge me to do things the very best way I can…. and take no shortcuts…even if it means ripping something out!
I’ve received some really wonderful gifts and cards and other blessings and I’d be very ungrateful if I didn’t say how much I loved them…thank you so much!
The prayers that you have prayed for my hubby and me and my family are one thing I can’t thank you enough for… I am truly blessed to have so many of you caring and concerned for us… well, that just made me tear up…
It’s nice to have such eager readers who think I know something they might like to know too. I’m really not that much different than anyone who sews. Maybe I have experience on my side a little bit more than some who sew, but I hope I never ever come across as a “know it all” because I certainly don’t know it all… I just love to share what I do know…
As you may have guessed, I’m writing this post off the top of my head, in no particular order… let’s see, what else do I love about my blog?
I love buying new fabrics and then having you to share them with. That’s fun!
I love sitting down at my computer and thinking, “Hmmm… what did I do today that I can share with everyone?” My life isn’t totally about sewing but it plays a big part… you make me think about new things and try new things and I research and study things that I might not ever give a second thought to if I didn’t have this blog.
Most of all, I just love visiting with each of you every day. It gives me a wonderful feeling inside to know that you are blessed by my small little talks we have each day. I couldn’t do what I do without you… well, I could, I guess, but it wouldn’t be much fun. You truly are dear friends to me and what a gift I have been given!
I wasn’t expecting what you all wrote, so I was a little hard pressed to come up with a reply back to you…tomorrow, I’ll probably think of a million other things I should have said, but I guess I’ll call it quits for now.
I did do a little sewing the last few days. Both of my sisters have new grand babies; Cindy has 2 new little grandsons and Deb has a new granddaughter, so I made them each a bib. I used to make hundreds of these and sell them at our local Farmer’s Market. They are machine embroidered and I used fingertip towels.
I don’t like posts without a single picture, so let’s do something about that…

That’s me…”inspiration Jeanne!” I hope you get some bibs made…if you don’t have an embroidery machine you can just leave the towel blank or you can use a large iron on applique and fill in the space.

Very fun bibs! Those are a style my daughter really likes with her kids too. My Mother made beautiful hand embroidered bibs for my girls.

Oh, I remember making those bibs for my children! Unlike you, I bought them already embroidered. My older son had a cute University of Oklahoma one. Now I can get busy and make a Bengals football bib for my youngest grandson who was born on Superbowl Sunday.
I love the many aspects of your blog because YOU are an inspiration both in the sewing room and out. Thank you for sharing your life with me (and maybe all those other people that hang out at your house).
From October through March this year, my hubby and I spent 3 months in Mississippi with his mom who unfortunately died in February. We had no phone or internet at her house but would make the trip to the library so I could read your posts. You gave me something to look forward to while I helped my sweet mother in law (83) cope with cancer.
Never feel bad that every post is not about sewing, although those are just amazing. Fixing hems for Rebecca, befriending new people, making dog cupcakes, sitting in waiting rooms while your hubby is getting treatments, your talented family, etc, they help me in my life either to remember, celebrate, or even mourn. Those gifts you give me are priceless.
Well gotta go cause that son who wore the OU bib 36 years ago joined the Air National Guard and is leaving Tuesday for basic training, he and his three children are here.

I was gone yesterday, so I had this to read today, which worked very nicely. I am so glad you still have today with your sisters and that they were here for your 1000th post.
Our antique show, in Longmont, CO, was very nice. Lots of new dealers and new things to see, but we miss some of the old dealers, who have probably retired. My favorites this year were garden themed tea cups and saucers.

There’s just a patch of snow here and there, like a rag that blew into the yard. The crab apple is definitely damaged but surprisingly most of the other plants, covered or not, survived, though whether they will all bloom is another question.
I am so glad you are having fun. You deserve it, and all of you are good at it — it’s a talent and a learned characteristic, and not everyone has it. It’s one of the many reasons we like this blog.
