I took Rebecca outside today for a photo shoot…and it didn’t help! :o( I have decided this color turquoise just DOES NOT want to be photographed! It is the strangest thing. SOOOO…. I have decided the winner of this set will have to buy it BLIND… and just trust me that it’s the prettiest color you can imagine. It really is…
I’ll go ahead and show you the pictures I took outside, but again, it’s not the right color either. It was cloudy when I took the pictures, which is supposed to capture the best colors… NOT! Part of the problem is, my camera isn’t picking up the details in the print. It’s one of those very clear printed prints that is very precise. It looks like mostly leaves, but there are little flowers in there that don’t show up very well… As much as I adore this fabric, it sure has given me some headaches over the pictures taken…
Here we go with “turquoise shade number”… uh… I forget… 10? 15? I took pictures in 3 different places… on my hubby’s truck; sort of up high, by a big quartz rock in our yard and by my front door…
Click on any picture and it will enlarge.
After I took the pictures outside, I couldn’t wait to get inside and “see” how they looked on my computer. Disappointment stuck again.
So I decided to give up…the color is what it is…
I decided to take a close up picture of Rebecca’s necklace so you could see how pretty it is “all the way around.”
My younger sister, Deb, surprised me with a visit this weekend, so I’ll be busy with her and my mom! I LOVE sister time!
Have a wonderful Saturday and I’ll see you on Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne
We can tell by Rebecca’s skin and hair color that the outdoor colors are off, but there’s something charming about self-confident Rebecca standing on that huge truck. My favorite, however, is the beautifully civilized outfit against that stunning gray stone. If you could add that to the Ebay auction page, I’d love it, but you have bidders already so you can’t change the page.
The color may not be accurate, but it’s always beautiful — I don’t think you are going to have trouble attracting bidders.
I found Julie a turquoise sweater on Etsy — I planned on it belonging to someone who wasn’t Julie, but she changed my mind. The way she looks in turquoise indicates that you may have created one of those universally becoming outfits. I’ll bet it would be just as beautiful on Josefina and I’d like to see it on Addy. I’d really like to see it on my (formerly your) Julie, so I know it would be outstanding on Elizabeth. You can spend the day letting Deb dress each of your AGs in the turquoise dress and photographing all of them.
Have fun on your sister/mother day. The weather here is lovely and the Farmers’ Market is open. What more can I ask?
I may be way out of my depth here (ha, ha), but it looks like your camera is focused on the lace detail as it is in the center of all of the pictures. Perhaps pushing the button halfway down while focusing on the turquoise print and then moving the camera to center the picture and clicking the rest of the way down would make the focus more even across the entire photo. Just a suggestion and someone may even shoot me down on this one.
The turquoise shows up just fine on my computer. The dress and necklace are just lovely. You deserve a girls’ day out and hope you have a great time visiting. I really like your outdoor pictures. Believe it or not, it’s raining here in Southern California!
I’m sorry the pictures didn’t turn out the way you hoped. I know how frustrating that can be. Turquoise could be a color that picks up colors that are around it thus altering its shade just a little. In any case, it is a beautiful outfit, and I know the lucky person who wins it will be thrilled.
Hope you have good visits.
Take care.
Love, love, love your outdoor photos! Even if they did not come out as you would have liked. I think Susette may be on to something about your focus. As to the color, it looks to me like the camera is picking up on the blue truck rather than the blue dress in the first photo and Rebecca’s face is shaded. The second, her face is sharp and in focus, but the dress not quite. In the third, the quartz rock rocks as well as Rebecca, but the skirt seems a bit fuzzy. The last two by the door, perhaps the white door is reflecting back into the lens and changing the color of the subject. Her face is in the shadow and again, the center of the photo is in focus. Does your camera allow you to self focus? Because then you could do that and see if the whole dress comes into sharpness. However, I really like all of the photos. It was wonderful to see your background choices, and I know Rebecca enjoyed the outing too. What’s the story on your rock? Find it somewhere special? I love rocks.
I am so tired I can’t even think about the colors on the dress, except that they are all lovely on my monitor! I love the colors on the one with the granite rock, but the material itself seems out of focus. I will say the Ebay pictures are just perfect though! No need to change them at all.
The necklace is just lovely! I knew Rebecca would come up with something special and unique that would go perfectly with the dress!
Well, back to the trenches! I’m washing every single thing I have stored in my hutch, and getting rid of some things I no longer use. My floor looks just wonderful , but I’m kind of afraid to walk on it now!! Crazy! Isn’t it a beautiful day?
Hi everyone,
I guess we are having too much fun…as I’m just now finding time to get on here. We have shopped till we were about ready to collapse, we’ve planted a pot with hen and chickens and ate lunch at Paneras, we went to Lowe’s and got flowers…needless to saw, we’ve had a full day…
Thanks for your comments but I gotta go again!!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Gosh the dress looks the same color in all the pictures…and it is a lovely turquoise. That doll has the prettiest smile…she just seems to be happy in that dress. Glad you had sister time this weekend!
Your Rebecca’s necklace is so perfect on that dress.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
Good morning to all of you who check in on Sundays “just in case.” We’ll hope Jeanne is fixing a wonderful breakfast for everyone at her house today and that they all have fun until they collapse again.
I liked Kathie’s comment above — some dolls really do seem to smile more when they are wearing something special.
