It’s no secret, Rebecca loves this dress! She’s not the only one. I’ve already had emails from people who like what has been shown so far. So the good news is…it’s all finished… the dress, slip, bonnet, necklace, flower spray and of course some fingerless gloves. The pictures have been taken, sorted and cropped. The bad news is, I didn’t get it all finished until 9:00 last night, so there was no way I could get it listed on Ebay… HOWEVER…I plan to get it listed this evening. Just consider this post a sneak preview! I’ll try and remember to put a link on this page so you can go straight to the listing.
I think Rebecca looks gorgeous in this dress and I don’t say that very often about my doll dresses! Something really has to impress me for me to say that. I do believe I picked the right model for this pretty lavender print, even though Addy and Eden wanted desperately to wear it. Maybe next time girls.
Okay, do you want to see all the details… a few things were changed. Starting at the top, I added another row of lace on her bonnet… one row just seemed too puny to me… I think it looks fuller and much prettier. I also straightened the bow in the back… but I managed to get the end curled up on one side… oops!
If you click on any picture it will enlarge.
I changed the bow connecting the two front panels together and made it “prettier!” You can also see the necklace Rebecca made for this set.
A couple ladies mentioned a pair of white fingerless gloves would be nice with this set… “Your wish is my command!” Viola!
I gathered about 6 or so stems of the flowers and made Rebecca a nice bouquet to carry.
So do you want to see it all together… to get the complete and total look? I thought so!
I will do my very best to list it on Ebay and I’ll have a picture and a link tomorrow for sure…
NOW…ONE MORE THING… I got something in the mail yesterday. I guess you could call this my Valentine’s Day present. It came a day early… Here’s a hint…You don’t want to miss tomorrow’s post!
Oh, and HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to everyone! I have a date tonight with my sweetie! :o)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh wow, just wow, Jeanne! I have been looking and looking at that gorgeous dress for a good 10 minutes, just in awe! I can’t believe how well put together everything is and it works beautifully! Oh my, the bonnet, with that extra row of lace—-just perfect! The necklace is beautiful, and gives the outfit an extra “sparkle”, and oh, those fingerless gloves! The lavender bows give them the added touch! I can’t forget that beautiful slip underneath, and I am wondering how in the world Rebecca is going to like taking this outfit off! And another thing, how are you going to want to mail it off to someone?
Well, that box looks very exciting to me, and I DON’T think it is a shoebox!!! 🙂
Have fun on your date night tonight, and I will be doing the same! happy Valentine’s Day, dear Jeanne Marie!
HI Linda,
Thank you so much for your glowing comments on Rebecca’s new dress. I think you like it! I’m glad!
This one is very special to me… not sure exactly why, but it is… I love everything about it and can only hope someone else will too.
Nope..it’s not a shoe box… :o)
We will have fun tonight and I know you will too!
Thanks again, Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
I didn’t think it could get any prettier and then bam! You make it prettier! The extra row of lace on the bonnet was a great idea. The fingerless gloves are so sweet and definitely the finishing touch.
I know what that box looks like!!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and you sweetie!
Thanks so much Charlotte,
Wow.. I got a BAM today… that’s a pretty good sign that you like and I must be doing something right!
Oh, everyone has me pegged… that box is a dead giveaway isn’t it?
You still might be surprised!
Happy Valentines Day to you too!
Blessings, Jeanne
Perfection, Jeanne! The gloves were the perfect finishing touch:) this is truly one of your prettiest ever and Rebecca will be so sad to tske it off!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your sweetheart!
Thanks so much Shara,
I appreciate your very kind compliments on Rebecca’s dress. It makes me want to go look for something lavender for myself!
Thank you again and Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
Blessings, Jeanne
I love the 2nd to the last pic of Rebecca. Looks like she is handing her bouquet to someone special. And Rebecca’s necklace just adds to the perfection of this wonderful outfit.
I can’t wait to see your new dolly. Or that’s what I think may be in the special package. Perfect present I believe.
Have a wonderful day sweet day.
HI Joy,
She’s probably handing her bouquet to her mama… since she’s only 10, let’s hope she doesn’t have a boyfriend…of course, she probably wouldn’t be giving “him” flowers…
You all know me too well, but you’ll still have to wait and see what’s inside… I should have it be a pair of shoes… (but that would be a lie!) You’ll see tomorrow!
Thanks so much Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Just beautiful, Jeanne! Everything about this outfits is perfect. Her gloves with the lavender bows and her bonnet, very girly girl and the necklace… I was looking at the necklace and realized Rebecca had added the perfect pendent to it – a delicate purple flower. I love the flowers Rebecca is holding too. Lush lavenders!
I’m excited to see what you got in the mail!!!! Such a fun thing to get a box like that in the mail. I’m still on my search for the redheaded Felicity. I saw one on Ebay that was the newer Felicity ( in the purple meet dress) with a different color of red hair. To me, she is gorgeous. Does anyone know of this different red hair color?
Have a lovely date tonight, Jeanne. Happy Valentine to everyone!
Thank you Paula,
I think Rebecca looks so pretty in this dress. I’m going to hate to undress her and see her naked on the dolly shelf in a few days. She makes a lovely center piece in my sewing room.
Thanks so much for all your comments about this dress set. It does have lots to look at and love!
I’ll have to look and see if I can find the Felicity doll you are referring to… I think we should ask Laura…
I will have a good time tonight and I wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day as well.
Blessings to you Paula,
~ Jeanne
Paula, I have the Mattel Felicity with the auburn hair, and I just love her! While it is not the same red hair color as the first Felicity, I feel that it is more real looking. Also her face paint is so much better than the older ones, who have faded over time. I certainly do like my Mattel Felicity, and I’m sure you would too!
Whew! I finally finished my Valentines Day dress for Molly. No new techniques but making those miniaturized Valentines like you make for the dolls certainly took several tries. The thought that you make them gave me incentive to try it myself. I’d be interested in your technique for miniaturizing them.
The whole ensemble is simply beautiful. Every detail is perfect and the fingerless lace gloves are a wonderful addition. The double row of lace on the bonnet was a nice addition. Have a wonderful Valentines Day to you and George!
Thank you Susette,
Congratulations on finishing your Valentine’s Dress fro Molly. I hope you got it done in time for her to wear it to her school party today! I’m sure you did.
As far as the Valentine’s I made… I just googled Valentine Cards, or Old fashioned Valentines, and then I reduced them on my copier. I ran them on card stock to be a little sturdier.
Thanks for your sweet compliments, Susette,
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day too!
Blessings, Jeanne
What a treat! Love the whole ensemble…so many awesome items that come together to make it perfect. The hat is just adorable!
And the jacket with the embroidery…brilliant. I can tell you love it too… it’s like me when I get a pathetic doll all clean, repaired, redressed..I. Hate to send it back home ?Enjoy your Valentines treat.
HI Kathie,
Thank you so much for your sweet compliments on Rebecca’s dress. I do love it. I think I might have a “thing” for lavender dresses. I sure do like making them.
I bet it IS hard to send a doll back to someone when you’ve given it new life!
We are back home and we DID enjoy our evening out! Tomorrow’s Chemo day so this was a nice treat before “the crud” hits!
Thank you Kathie,
Blessings, Jeanne
The entire ensemble is as perfectly beautiful as can be–I just love every part of it!!
As for the box….a dolly, without a doubt! LOL (see? we are getting to know you!!)
