Molly looks glorious in her new pink dress. It’s all finished and listed on Ebay if you want to take a peek. (HERE)
It was wonderful having a dress come together like this one did. There were no problems…everything worked perfectly…no ripping out…of anything… and I LOVE IT TOO!
It’s always good when I can say that… :o)
This fabric is fabulous and I wish I had it in every color! I’d be accenting everything.
This listing is only a THREE day auction… Valentine’s Day is closer than I thought… I didn’t get enough done on it when my brother and sisters were here, but that’s okay. I’ll send it Priority mail and hope it gets to the winner in time.
I have a few pictures to show you…
(Click on any picture and it will enlarge.)
Molly didn’t want a stuffed animal…she wanted to look in the “props” drawer and after looking everything over, she decided on the Strawberry Shortcake puzzle. I didn’t have the heart to tell her Strawberry Shortcake was from the 1980’s…so I just let her have it.
I made her socks and then added a little color to them in the form of glass beads… sort of cute, don’t you think?
I worked all day finishing up her dress and then getting it listed on Ebay… I had to make it up to my hubby, so I made a Chicken and Spinach Pie recipe he found in his Backyard Poultry magazine. It was good and he said mine was prettier than the one in the magazine… Here’s theirs…
…and here’s mine… :o)
Well, that’s it for me tonight! My hubby has chemo on Wednesday this week… so I hope I can do some sewing tomorrow… I’m thinking something for Spring, although I sure would like to make that coat pattern I downloaded. Hmmmm….
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh my goodness, what a DARLING dress, Jeanne! All the special touches, the slip, the socks, the bows and the puzzle, just make it perfect! I cannot let my Molly see this dress or I am in trouble! It looks so crisp and sweet at the same time, and I love Molly’s hair down too! I think black shoes were be to jarring in all this pink perfection, and besides, whoever wins this dress can put on any color shoes. White can work too, but the pink ones are just adorable!
Yum, that pie looks delicious! I wondering, is there chicken in it? What is the top part consisted of? Better yet, how about the recipe??
Today looks like it will be a rainy day for you, so staying in and sewing would be the best thing to do! Good luck to George tomorrow!
HI Linda,
Thanks for the compliments on Molly’s dress. She does look pretty sweet standing on my cutting table and just smiling! All the other girls are smiling too… I think everyone wants a pink dress!
I’ll post the recipe for the chicken and spinach pie… Yes, there is chicken in it…The top is phyllo baking sheets…the flakiest crust ever!
It rained through the night, but right now, the sun is shining and it’s not too bad out…a bit breezy…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
I’m with Linda — that looks like a great pie and I’d love the recipe. Yours is prettier than the one in the magazine.
This has got to be one of the nicest Molly dresses ever. I am so glad it went together so easily and came out so perfectly. It deserves its name. It will be just as nice for Easter. If the bidding goes well, maybe you should be thinking of an Easter version.
And tomorrow we’ll find out what comes next. I’m guessing it will be for one of your Effner girls. Chemo tomorrow, and maybe more chicken and spinach pie for lunch today. When the food is good, leftovers are great, and it’s important to enjoy the good moments when they come along.
Thanks Marilyn,
I seriously think this might be my favorite Molly dress ever. In person, it is just plain SWEET… she looks adorable in it and it’s a perfect fit on her. I am very pleased with it! She is too! I think an Easter dress in the same sort of fashion just might be in order1
What to do next… hmmm… I better get to deciding…
Yes, good ole leftovers… PIE… :o)
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Your pie is definitely prettier!
Molly’s dress turned out lovely. I love her little socks! It is all these fine details that make your outfits little pieces of art.
Good luck to your husband on Wednesday. I’ll keep you both in my thoughts.
Take care.
HI Charlotte,
Thanks for the compliments on my pie! It was fun to make and even better to eat!
I’m going to see if I can’t find some of that tiny ruffled elastic, only a bit wider… I think it would look better with a little bit bigger ruffle.
Thanks for thinking of us, Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
Molly looks so sweet. All ready for a special Valentine or on the look for the bunny.
Great photos of your Chicken/Spinach Pie. Nothing like a recipe from a chicken raising magazine eh? Did you use phyllo dough or puff pastry? Looks yummy. We had Chicken Marsala last night. It was pretty good too.
Hi Joy,
I thought maybe Molly would pick a stuffed animal, but when she saw the puzzle, that’s what she wanted. No bunnies for her!
I guess my hubby knew it would be good… there have been other recipes in the magazines, but none he ever wanted me to really try. This one was left open to the page, on the table!
I used Phyllo baking sheets… the brand was Athens… I can show you the box…
Oh I love Chicken Marsala… :o)
thanks Joy,

Well you’ve done it again. Molly’s dress is just adorable. What a cute idea for the socks too. I just love a the pale pink of this outfit. (Not like bubble gum) Soft and sweet and luscious pink. Perfect!!
Your pie does indeed looks better and yummy.
Hope things go smoothly tomorrow for George. I will be thinking of you both.
Take care.
Thank you Paula,
It looks like every single picture in my listing is a different shade of pink. If I moved just the slightest bit, my camera picked up a different color of pink. It’s just a pretty pretty shade of baby pink…
The pie was yummy…
Thanks for your thoughts toward us tomorrow… We appreciate it…
Blessings, Jeanne
The weather was gorgeous here today, 62 degrees, can you believe it? We broke a record. Needless to say, I spent the majority outside and around town running errands.
Molly’s dress is adorable. I think it would even look sweet for Easter as there are no hearts to make it strictly Valentine’s.
The chicken pie looks delicious. I have quite a few recipes, savory and sweet that have phyllo crusts. It’s nice because it’s crunchy and no fat basically.
Have you seen the pictures of Logan? His face mold strikes me as a cross between Kaya and Marie-Grace- Kaya’s face with MG’s chin. I love his hair. I don’t see myself adding a boy doll. but I would love to see someone make him historical. Of he could pass for Gilbert Blythe, that might be another story.
Felicity will apparently only get her meet, underpinnings and accessories. I am curious to see if she truly has a new eye color.
So you want to make something for spring. How about my favorite style, Civil War. I even have a name ready for it- Springtime in the South.
You and George will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.
Hi Laura,
We had a nice sunny day today too…a bit breezy so it was just slightly cool, but nice.
I like your new Civil War title…”Springtime in the South” and just might have to follow your lead. :o)
We had the rest of the pie tonight…it wasn’t quite as flaky as last night but still good…and the best part is I didn’t have to cook!
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
The pink dress is just darling and the accessories great. The socks are so cute. Where in the world did you find the Strawberry Shortcake game. Probably from Cindy. Such a nice collection in the toy box. You are some chef to make that beautiful pie. Who knew about making a pie with sheets of phyllo!
I saw something cute at Costco today: A soft cover book of American Girl doll stickers for $8. It’s marked $13 on the back cover. Nice for little girls when it’s rainy day or a sick day.
Hi Susette,
I got several of those little puzzles years ago at Joann fabrics in their trinkety aisle. I only have one left.
We finished the pie tonight and it was still good! It had feta cheese in it…I might try a different cheese sometime…
Good find on the sticker book. You’ll be happy you got it next time Riya visits and is bored!
Thanks Susette,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh that’s a pretty dress! It’s so nice when things come together without a struggle when sewing. I definitely agree that it would be a perfect Easter dress for an AG doll.
I was just thinking about supper when I sat down here and saw the chicken and spinach pie. Is it like a quiche except with a phyllo dough pastry? It looks good, but I don’t have time to cook anything this evening so I guess it’s salad for me!
Hi Carolyn,
It sure is nice when everything works out like you hoped it would.
It’s not quite like a quiche but it does stay together somewhat. The phyllo dough sheets make it incredibly flaky. I will definitely make it again.
I hope your salad was good… :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
