First things first: My Regency dress that Rebecca is modeling on Ebay ends this evening. You can see the listing by clicking on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
I hope you won’t be disappointed if you didn’t guess the right bodice on the right girl. I’ll do this again sometime… If you missed yesterday’s post, I showed 3 of my Little Darlings and 3 Christmas bodices I had started.
I had already decided ahead of time who would get to showcase each dress. I asked my readers to leave a comment or an email telling me what dress they picked for what doll. Of those 3 ladies who guessed the same as I had, I wrote down their names and had my hubby draw out a winner.
So this is who I picked to wear each dress… and I know…there are arguments for each dress to be on each girl… but this is who I chose…
I put their sleeves on their heads to make it sort of look like hats!
Oh…so for the winner? My hubby drew out Carolyn’s name! So Carolyn, congratulations and I’ll get your prize in the mail…
I’m sorry I didn’t get anything else done on the dresses. We did find a new doctor for my hubby, again in St. Louis, but at a different hospital and this doctor is very well spoken of. We had a busy day getting all of my hubby’s past history in order again and getting things picked up from imaging and other places before we go. His appointment is on Friday and we would appreciate any prayers for this visit. Already they have contacted us and gotten our information ready and it just feels totally different this time.
Thanks so much for all your love and encouragement and friendship. It is a wonderful group of ladies who read my blog and I thank you all for thinking and caring for us so deeply.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
What good news. It sounds as if this is the right move, and on Friday you’ll know. It’s good to know that everything is starting to move smoothly and efficiently again.
It’s true, those are not the doll/fabric match-ups I was expecting, but sometimes the unexpected can show us whole new things. This is going to be fun and interesting.
HI Marilyn,
Well, sorry you didn’t win, but there’ll be other times. I’m fairly certain I picked the right colors. eek!
We are looking forward to meeting this new doctor and seeing what comes next. I think waiting is the hardest part, sometimes…
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Well, I guess I was wrong, but I thought Isabelle needed something warmer and Janie something to “cool” her off, but I’m not there in person, so it’s hard to tell. I’m sure all three dresses will be perfect and of course, since you aren’t selling the dolls along with the dresses, whoever buys them can put them on whatever doll they want! Congratulations to Carolyn!
So happy to hear you are onto a new path for George, and I hope and pray it turns out to be exactly what you had hoped for!
HI LInda,
Even though Isabelle has warm toned eyes, she still has the coloring of a winter… and I think she’ll look good in the green. I took those pictures very late last night and didn’t use my lights like I probably should have. I guess we’ll all see if I picked the right colors. It’s not my girls who will wear them anyway… whoever buys them will put them on their dolls…
We are ready to meet his new doctor and get started on what comes next. (I think…)
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Congrats on finding a new doctor. You and George are in my prayers. ((HUGS))
Thank you Christine…and hugs back to you as well!
Blessings, Jeanne
Congrats to Carolyn…yeah for good guessing! The colors are so pretty on your dolls, Jeanne. Thanks for relieving us of the tension of which colors you chose for which dolls. They look adorable and ready for some wintertime weather.
Such good news regarding George and the group you’ve contacted…yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for the heads up about this coming Friday….you will be remembered…as always.
Blessings.
HI Becky,
I tried to pick 3 colors that worked well together in case someone wanted to buy all three for their girls… but I’ll sell them individually.
I appreciate your kindness, Becky, and thank you in advance for your prayers.
Blessings, Jeanne
Good news, Jeanne, on hopefully finding a more helpful doctor. Indeed, I will be praying and thinking of you both on Friday.
All of your Little Darlings look beautiful in the material you chose. Good job in guessing, Carolyn! These dolls are beautiful to begin with (I really need to get one!) and with the dresses you make them, well, the outfits will be sensational as all of your LD dresses are!
HI Paula,
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for Friday… I have to admit I’m a bit nervous but still anxious to meet this new doctor.
I’m glad you liked my Little Darlings in the dress colors I picked… I’m pretty sure I picked the right colors for them… but if not, the winner can put them on whatever doll they want! :o)
If you can’t afford the Little Darlings, there are the Mini Maru dolls that are almost identical in size to them. Just a thought… I remember saving and saving and saving before I found Lian… it was a miracle I got her!
Thank you Paula,
Blessings, Jeanne
Congrats to Carolyn. Looking forward to seeing the beauties in their new dresses.
So glad to hear that the new doctor/hospital has taken the time to contact you and assure that your information is in order prior to the visit. Hoping an appointment for surgery can be soon. Good thoughts coming from California for you and George. Just keep positive and all will go smoothly.
HI Joy,
Thank you so much for your sweet words of comfort and encouragement… it means a lot…all the way from California!
I’m anxious to get these dresses in the works a little more.
Thanks for playing along…
Blessings, Jeanne
Good job, Carolyn, on your winning guess! Enjoy your prize!
The Little Darlings look as darling as ever in their Christmas dress colors. Now I’m wondering if they will be trimmed the same or different? I’m like a kid at Christmas in anticipation of all the finished looks!
So glad to hear you and George have found a doctor with whom you are feeling comfortable. I share your hope that this will be the path to health for your hubby, and I will continue to lift you both in prayer. Wishing you peace in the process, Jeanne.
Dolly hugs, and people hugs, too!
HI Anne,
Thanks for your prayers… especially for the “peace” part… that’s where I fall short. I have a hard time “letting go and letting God” be in control. I want to fix this myself… but I can’t this time, so I have to trust Him.
I have to look at my laces first to see if they will all be alike or decorated differently.
Thanks so much, Anne!
Blessings, Jeanne
Thank you to George for drawing my name. I will be waiting anxiously to see the gold dress on Janie with her beautiful new blond bob.
I am so glad you found a new doctor; I have been praying about it, and will continue to do so. I know that miracles happen every day, and I believe God has a good outcome for you both.
HI Carolyn and congratulations again on winning the drawing this time. I’ll get your surprise prize in the mail tomorrow…
Thank you very much for your prayers! We truly appreciate them.
Blessings, Jeanne
I’ll be adding my prayers to those of your other friends, as you and George are dealing with this latest wrinkle in his health problems. It does sound like you have a much better doctor this time!! Thanks for the update.
I’m a little late to the party, but I’m anxious to see how you coordinate the dresses.
So glad you found a new doctor. It can make all the difference in the world. Many years ago I had a real “gem” of doctor. It’s difficult enough having an illness or a condition that needs medical attention, but when that illness or condition is life threatening, an uncaring jerk of a doctor is NOT what I would put up with, and I’m glad you didn’t either. Offering up prayers that things went better for you today.
HI C,
Yes, things did go much better today and you are so right… the right doctor can make all the difference in the world. I’m so glad we found a new one!
I haven’t worked any more on the dresses, but I’ll get them going soon…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
